Saw this last night. Looks pretty interesting. I don't know much about the Graphic novel. I might have to pick it up next time I'm at the comic shop.

This is gonna be the tits! Zach Snyder is the man! I wish he was helming GI Joe...
Not sure if this was his idea or not, but I did not like how in 300, the Queen ends up sleeping with someone as bribery to bring her husband back, while in the comic this never happened. I don't care for continuity for a movie matching up to a comic but in this case it really was not necessary(hated the Queen after that).
Anyways Watchmen looks like a great movie, the effects are awesome. I hope it does turn out well storywise too.

Might? Might? Man. I'll give my full, hearty recommendation to any who want to purchase this. It's meaty and cheap, a wonderful book that I can read over and over.

Strange how if a male lead in a movie is willing to make such a "sacrifice" that it is rarely an issue, but if a woman does, it's looked down upon. I'm not accusing you of sexism, you might have different reasons, like her being married, but there is definately a double-standard in movies in that regard.
It's pretty clear she didn't enjoy it. She literally let herself be raped to try and save her husband and his men. Doing that and then looking him in the eye at the senate is something that would take a HELL of a lot of guts (more than he had left after he betreyed her). :D
Edit: For anyone who hasn't read Watchmen, it's a book that had a meteoric impact on the world of comics and, along with Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns", changed the superhero genre forever. I highly recomend it to anyone who even has a passing interest in superheros. You'll never look at them the same way again.

I had heard about watchmen since it came out in the mid 80's. Everyone talked about how it was the greatest comic book story ever. I didn't end up reading it until about a year ago and I have to say I was absolutely.....STUNNED at how bad ass it was! I went in almost wanting to not like it because of how much praise it gets critically, but after the first few pages I was just blown away! If anyone hasn't read it yet, you should stop what you're doing, go here:
Amazon.com: Watchmen: Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons: Books (http://www.amazon.com/Watchmen-Alan-Moore/dp/0930289234)
and pick it up. It will be the best $13 you've spent all year!
And that trailer is just absolutely awesome!!

This movie looks to be another winner for those movie producers who are smart enough to stick to the source material and hire directors that are fans of the property.

Given its complexity I always wondered if this could be pulled off, but Holy bleep that looks awesome.

The movie will rock. To fans that know the book (such as myself), the film will be a godsend. Now, like I mentioned in my very brief script review on this forum, there are some differences in the filkm than in the book, and some will be controversial, I'm sure. But it's a damn good script, and I'll be a real-likfe Cobra Commander before anyone makes a better theatric version, save for involvement of Alan Moore himself.
