what does rowdy roddy piper have to do with GI Joe?

i know who he is, but i dont know the connection here.

Not much really, in part its to give Sargent Slaughter a Cobra equivalent, and as for him being an Iron Grenader, its cause hes Scottish.

ok...so he is an action figure? is his file name roderick piper? and hes in grenadier armor?

oh, his addition has raised a bunch of fuss with us collectors, seeing as they could have gotten the fridge, Slaughter again, or a dozen of the voice actors to show up.

but hey, we got a new figure,. so we shut up about it...

i think it will be a nice adition. about time a new character showed up for the line. we already have fridge, sgt slaughter, ect. i think its nice they thought outside the box on this one

No, no actual armor, just a shirt with a destro logo, some shorts, a kilt & a jacket.

He's supposed to be the trainer for the Iron Grenadiers...to go up against Sgt. Slaughter.

I do agree that the figure choice...leaves a bit to be desired. That being said, since I'm an IG junkie, I need one. Or two :D

I think it was a decent decision to add something new. At least they didn't go back to the well for the fridge (who weighs about 600 lbs. now!). Plus his character is scottish so it does kinda correlate a little bit.........just a little.
It does seem a bit late-for-the-train for ole Hot-Rod though?

It should have been Roddy Piper from the John Carpenter movie "THEY LIVE" and a Keith David figure too. Maybe I'll make them...

i went to the internet's most concise, action figure photo quick reference guide...ebay...and checked him out.

kinda cool.
however, if he were on a card hanging on a peg at WM or TRU...id leave him for the next fan.
