I got a new job and will soon have the money to get my 1/18 Dreadnoks fanboat project back underway and completed, so I am researching for my next project for fun while I wait to make a plastics order.

I am considering doing a 1/6 SOC-R. I have to contact a local company that does plastics fab to see if they can do a large vac-form job as the hull of the boat will need to be vac-formed whether I build one or a dozen.
I am envisioning a multi-piece kit with vac-formed hull and top along with all other parts made of either gray PVC, ABS,styrene and resin cast. The boat would be 5 1/2' long and 1 1/2' wide. This would be a high quality kit and would come with everything but the weapons (a list would be supplied as to what weapons to buy and from what manufacturer). The weapon mounts would be included.
If the vac-forming is affordable and I can build the boat I would like to produce kits in order to make enough money to crew the thing with five SWCC boat guys and an extracted eight member SEAL team.
Is there any interest? Thoughts, opinions?

Hey y'all! Thanks for your responses!

IF I am able to produce it I figure it will be at least $500, but probably in the $800-$1000 range. It is going to depend on how much this shop will charge to vac-form the hull pieces and then the cost of the casting work, which I would much rather contract out.
I'm just trying to gauge interest in such a kit. I'm concerned the size will be a detractor for many...
