Ok, i was about to start working tonight and saw MEECS (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-customs-finished-projects/130972-destro.html) custom Destro.
I really liked one of the pics, so i warmed up for work doing a quick sketch of Destro

(Now i realize how much it resembles Clement Sauve's design, dammit)

As much as I hate the character :D there's no doubt the artwork is outstanding!

Very nice....I love that shade technique. What did you use to sketch it with?

Thanks man.
(just saw your inks on another tanker's pencils...pretty awesome, good to know you work so well, might come in handy sometime ;) )
Hum, the big black portions is an edged black marker (http://www.ekancelar.cz/images/edd_390_black.jpg)
I guess you mean Destro's mask shades...well that's just an old ultra fine point sharpie (http://alysegshc.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/sharpie-shapes.jpg), which is a bit dry. Used in fast straight lines, you get that effect.
Once it's too dry to ink properly, they become really useful for textures. Since they're very cheap, i also "break" the tip by twisting it, so it looks like inking with a fine brush.

Very cool. I quit my artist ways a few years ago. Not sure why. I used to sketch in black ink to make it more permanent and to minimize making mistakes. That is a fantastic style. I love art. My wife is a fantastic real life sketch artist and painter. I will see what I can have her make for the tank.

I used to do quick sketches on pencil, then ink.
Now i'm doing magenta/cyan pencils sketches, then ink, because this way i won't need to erase the pencil (since i can eliminate easily the color on photoshop), and it saves a lot of time (necesary when you do pencils and inks for a work).
For what i've seen on that page you did, you shoud practice more if you're rusted. Inkers have a great demand, and good ones are scarce.

It improves on it.

Resolute or Renegades? Is not the same ;)
It improves on it.
Well, thanks BFJ.
Altho i'm not sure on what improves :P

Are you still thinking on the discussion the other day?? Bah forget it, no issues.
Besides that was complete different matter.
People can disagree on things and still get along well. More considering that we are all fans of GI joe, whatever the style/incarnation we personally like *shrug*

God damn! Is everyone an artist on this site?! I thought I was a good drawer, but so far, every art post on the tank is far better than anything I've ever put out. Very nice job man!

Yeah man, it's just a 15 minutes quick sketch of Destro, nothing fancy, nor a character of my own. It's on public domain, so it's free to use.
