Dusty: Great design and accessories. Along with Beachhead and Duke, Dusty is a must have for me.

Snake Eyes: This is one I was so pumped to get when the line was first announced. Unfortunately I don't think the figure stood the test of time. The accessories rock, but the base body is undersized- he looks more like a teen than an adult.

Flint: The head sculpt doesn't do much for me and I would have liked to have seen slightly darker colors used for the straps and gear. Though the accessories rock- like the removable wrist watch.

Duke: Love this figure. Other than the body being loose I've got nothing bad to say about it. The attention to details is just fantastic- the dog tags are actually marked with name, rank, etc.

Beachhead: Again, a must have figure. Love the head sculpt. I've got a cloth Balaclava on the way so I don't have to swap out heads for the masked version. The one down side to these figures in general is that the accessories rarely tend to stay in place when "playing" with them. In this case Beachhead comes with several arrows that fit into a holder, but fall out if he's moved around too long. He also suffers from loose body syndrome. I couldn't get his arms to hold a pose with the gun without having them slowly fall. (same with several others.) Also Sideshow forgot to add the two little hoops to his belt so his backpack could be held in place- yes it can be fixed, but for over $100 I'd like it to be right when shipped.

Cobra Commander: I'm glad I own him, the design is flawless. And, I do really like the painted eyes- creepy real.

Firefly: Tons of gear, and fun figure. My only critique is I would have liked to have seen a sling on his weapon. Could have really used that.

Cobra Trooper/ Cobra Officer: These two I dig, and would like to pick up a second Trooper some day (I keep checking eBay for a deal). They come with loads of ammo clips (two per pouch), which I thought amusing seeing how much ammo they spend hitting nothing most of the time. :-D

Storm Shadow: Got a white Balaclava on order for him. Again with the accessories- the arrows don't want to stay in the pack. Luckily I haven't lost any. And I wish there was a place for his throwing stars.

As the prices of these continue to climb I do hope Sideshow adds articulated fingers and stops with the multi hands. Overall I'm pleased with the line and hope to see it continue for a few more years at least.

Your Joes are looking awesome !!
If you look really close at Storm Shadow's black belt you should see four little pockets for his stars to fit in. The pockets might be on the inside of his belt. Depends on how you put the belt on the figure.

Just a idea on what I did for the arrows was. I placed his arrows beside each other and then taped them together. Then placed them in the holder. So far they haven't fallen out and the keep nice and straight. If I was at home I would take a picture but I'm away for a couple of days.

ultra8294- I had mine opened, but no accessories. So I spent the weekend gearing all the guys up. Took hours, but it was loads of fun.

dorian247- Dusty was the first figure I geared up, and that got me hooked to continue down the line.

FireFly- thanks for the tips, never thought of taping the arrows in place. And I'll look for the pocked on the sash for sure. Appreciate it.

5h4rK- if you ever see one on eBay that you can afford it's worth checking out. With every one of these I question if I'm making the right financial choice. lol

Do you have any of the environments (throne, Waypoint, etc.)? I have not taken the plunge (yet) on these, but am really digging the Arishikage and Pit sets.

Davestro- Never bothered with the environments. As neat as they are I just didn't want to spend the cash on them.

spazzy- You really should take them out, even if just to have a better look. The way the boxes are designed you'll never know you had them out. The ninjas and other troops I passed on. If anything I'd like multiples of the Cobra Trooper (blue one) and or the upcoming Viper.

Thanks for posting these! I'd love to get some of these, but they just don't fit in to the budget. If I came home and said "Honey, I just spent $500 on toys online" I think I'd have to find a new place to sleep. We're buying Barbies for my daughter for ten bucks, so there's no way I can justify spending $125 for a single figure to my wife. I think the details would be lost on her. So for now, I'll just envy your collection.

Overall I'm pleased with the fit and look. And, as mentioned, it's nice not to have to rely on another head to swap out.

Now here's the exclusive version of Stalker. I didn't put the sweater on, mainly because I really liked the way the shirt looked. I may swap it out down the line. But for now I'm going to keep him this way.
My main issue with this figure is the Velcro straps, ect: they simply do not hold. I hope Sideshow works this out down the line.
The flocked Barrett is a nice touch. I'm glad t osee SS trying different things.

Finally started putting together a Dutch custom. I've been scavenging parts off eBay for the past year. I've got the final parts in route. Here's what I have so far.....


I wanted to use the Heroik body, but thought the neck was too wide. I wound up using a Hot Toys True Type.....

I cut the neck down, so the head would sit lower. And that was a mistake. The rubber keeps getting out of shape when you turn the head now. =(

Opened Hot Toys DX Bespin Luke last night. Pretty happy overall. The only issues I found- the button on one of the shirts tore off when I tried to open it. And the saber holder on the belt came off. Botch can be fixed, so those are minor gripes.

Edit- also the magnet on the holster tore off. And the magnet in the head was just missing. So I dremeled the hair out some more and spot glued it in place. Now it sits lower....

Picked up an extra V1 SE body and swapped it for the bulkier armed V2. I really like the results. Added a knife/sheath to the chest and used the belt that came with it for the leg sheath to make it more stable. Also painted the goggles with clear blue....

Got my second DX12 tonight (having sold my first.)- got right to work on him! Just over 30 minutes to take the fat suit off and put the body armor back on. Really was very straight forward. NO cutting. But it was like a woman giving birth to a 15lb baby- some things stretched. lol

nice shots, I just got my classic pred in the other day but I wish I had me a dutch, he is going for some ludicrous prices right now. Maybe if hot toys did a remake of him I would so buy one without blinking. I have considered buying the new dx t-800 and just try to find the clothes and make one myself especially since the dx terminator has the pers and that would be pretty awesome to use that body for the dutch figure stand in.

Fiddled with my Fett- attached the rocket pack so it won't come off any more (putting it back on every time I picked him up got old really fast). I removed the plastic sheet behind the chest armor. Then I removed the armor tabs and glued the armor back in place. I also overlapped the vest in the back: so the Velcro actually went further than it was made to, then I glues it in place. Much tighter fit now. Still not sold that this is a better figure than the Medicom version.

^ is that the sideshow or medicom Boba? and my other question is how is the quality of boba and luke as those are pretty much my next purchases from SSC I want to build up some points so that I can hopefully buy the same Samurai pred I just can't drop $360 on a pred figure OMFG that thing is expensive.

That's the SSC Boba. I did also just order the Medicom one mainly because I think it's a better looking figure.

I picked up a Medicom New Hope Solo. I wanted to see this one in person. And I have to say he's better looking in hand than in most of the pics I've seen.
I think it's a good likeness to Ford....

Finally, what I feared- the figure is well undersized. (I may swap out to body to a taller one at some point.)

Overall I'm glad I picked Solo up, I think Medicom did an excellent job capturing the look and feel of the character. Just wish he were taller.

Here's my C-3PO 12" Perfect Model Chogokin figure.
Expensive yes, but you get what you pay for.
I have two critiques with the figure. First- his legs aren't articulated that well at all. Secondly, his ankles want to give out under the weight of the figure.

I love the Sideshow stuff, I mean every figure they have done is spectacular.. but I don't have the $$$ for them right now..

Right. They are really neat, but I cannot justify spending well over $100 for a single figure, particularly when they (Sideshow's older figs) used to go for just above $30. I know for a fact that I'm going to be cussing up a storm when they finally get around to doing a 12" Destro... :D

Very nice collections. I truly love the smirk on Beach Head's face when unmasked (probably because I have the same expression quite often, lol).
