With so many badass customs and customizers here on the Tank it's time we had a contest that brings out the best of the best.

Make any era GI Joe verse custom figure, this should be your absolute best work, people should look at it and say "BADASS" at first glance.

This is your chance to step up your own game and show the Tank what you can do !!!

Still a WIP..the base is done. There will be no more pieces added (with the possible exception of a smaller caliber rifle on the pack itself). I just have to get a flatter/lighter blue going and a bit more contrast in the armor pieces.

I did what I saw as the most common-sense fix to Voltar. Just about any skill-level should be able to do it to fill-out your IG ranks.

The only part not painted was Voltar's head.

I first repainted ever bit of the pink with black. I kept the gold as is everywhere. I then added red to pistol holster on chest and legs and painted belt red.

Looks perfect next to original Iron Grenadiers.

Here is my entry to the contest. When I was a kid, one of the only figure other than Firefly that I didn't have and really, really wanted was a Major Bludd. I loved him in the cartoon and thought the metal arm was awesome.

So when the 25th joes came out, I got my chance. And then another with the silver deco in the DVD pack and another in the desert troopers pack.

None of those seemed to capture that certain something, that merciless nature, that hardened killer, that... badass-ness.

I made this one to do that. Kinda just because I could.

I'm not the greatest photographer these days, but I think some of these turned out nicely.

Recipe- as best as I can remember.

Head- 25th Major Bludd with sculpted hair and scars.

Body and upper arms- ROC Duke reactive impact armor.

Right Arm- Resolute Destro's robot extra arm with added wrist articulation, the tubes are from a Star Wars figure, the Blue and silver power box is from the 25th Bludd's arm and the blue controls on his forearm are from a Comic 2 pack Luke in Imperial Armor figure.

Lower Left Arm- Star Wars 2 pack Imperial armor Luke Skywalker.

Legs- Resolute Cobra Commander (black version)

Weapons and such- The rifle is from the Resolute Destro.
The holster and pistol are from a ROC hawk figure as is the strap wrapped around the leg. The belt is from a Snake Eyes 25th figure. The Back sheath and knife is from a 25th Zartan figures leg. The Left boot knife and sheath is from the ROC battle suit Duke- thing.

Here is my entery for the Kickass custom challenge... Raptor! I know old bird brain has been done to death lately, but I thought I'd do my best to bring something new to the table.
Raptor is made mostly of desert battle Zartan (I know thats kind of "stock" at this point, but its just such a good figure!), and bits choped off the old figure. Some StormShadow claws were cut down and re-shaped to form "reverse spurs" if that makes any sense. The idea is that his foot talons are now functional and he can rake an opponent with a kick or swoop down and land on them feet first! I painted some details onto the headdress like the beak and I drybrushed it for some depth. I had a vest / shawl looking thing from Zartan cut down but didnt like it. I then made one from a Star Trek Nero's coat, but diddnt like that either, so instead I left him bare chested and gave him a chest tatoo. I was going to go with a native american thunderbird motif, but have always thought the Firebird Symbol was balls to the wall wicked looking! I wanted the cape to look old-school, but beter, with the ability to look like a cloak, fold away for action, and to open up and have a somewhat realistic wingspan for gliding. I originaly tried to make it from Tee shirt matterial but it looked crappy and caught fire too easily (I was searing the edges and Fwoosh!). So I dug around and found this thin wool-like matterial, its very tough, and the color is spot on. I used some old model sprue pices for the framework and stitched them into place. The Feather pattern on the back was drawn on with a dark brown sharpie and the little blades on the end are from serpentors claw. The wing tip blades were a late addition that I thought would be cool, he could use them to slice an enemy with a sweep of his wing. The best part asside from the playability is that the wings peg into the backpack when not in use, and his birds fit perched on there perfectly! Speaking of his birds, its a tiny detail but I added the Red, Yellow, and Blue tags around their legs from issue 61 I think?
Playability always comes first when I make a custom, and Raptor here is very durrable. I'd love to get my hands on a Dial tone, so I hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking!

I'm not sure it is badass, and I'm not sure it really counts as a figure, but this is my first completed custom, so I thought I would share. It's an RoC Target exclusive SNAKE that I painted Testor's Bright White. Then I used a vector graphics editing program (Inkscape) to recreate all of the original SNAKE decals and then I printed them out onto waterslide decal paper. I'm pretty darn happy with how it came out, and now I'm thinking about doing a few more!

Here is my "BADASS" entry, Stalker v2 aka tundra Stalker. Had to pretty much sculpt from his head down to his feet as there are no current ME parts i could use to match Stalker's ARAH sculpt. I also went with a little more realistic paint scheme. The bright green pants had to go. This guy was a labor of love. Much sweat and blood was spilled in the making of this guy. Literally, I sliced my finger more than once with an X-acto knife. lol

Head = 25th Stalker sculpted beanie
Torso = 25th Hit and Run
Upper arms = 25th Hit and Run
Lower arms = 25th arctic Snake Eyes
Legs = ROC Storm Shadow heavily sculpted.
Jacket = ROC Monkey Wrench heavily sculpted.

Alright folks here is my badass entry:

-HIT & RUN-

He is one of my all time favorites and the assault on cobra island version was a weak parts swap in my opinion.

So there are some questions about him carrying all that gear...

This was the scenario that i was thinking of when i made him.
How he looks with all of his gear is what he looked like when he
dropped out of the chopper into the jungle. From there he set up
base camp and then SHED HIS GEAR to do recon. Once locating the
cobra camp he repelled down a sheer cliff wall to set up his remote
fired javelin rocket. He then infiltrates the camp using his wire
cutters to cut through the barbed wire fence and then gets past the
night-adders dogs with the t-bones in his duffel bag. Once in
position he fires the javelin into the armory creating a diversion
so he can get his target(plans, secret weapons, hostages etc.).
Once he acquires his target he then leaves his duffelbag (which is filled
w/ explosives) behind blowing the camp sky high and erasing any trace
that he was there...thus executing the perfect Hit & Run!

Duffel Bag-ARAH H&R modified with Spc. Trakker's web gear, plastruct plastics & green stuff
Machine Guns-POC Beachead/Low Light
Flashlight-POC Doc
Hat/Machete-ROC Jungle Ripcord
Radio/Batons-POC Shock Trooper
FGM-148 Javelin/Wire Cutters-Bravo Team Figs

I also added a pic of the arah duffel bag that i modded. Like i said above
I cut up spc. trakker's webgear and used green stuff for all of straps.
I also used a tow cable from one of my kids mater trucks for the hook that
attaches the back of the shoulder strap to the duffel bag. It definately
took me awhile to figure out how to put this together, but im pretty happy
with the way it turned out.

Hope you guys think this is badass enough!
