WOW is right. Man, I really didn't expect the MASS to show up again. Hmm. Even in ARAH, the MASS always seemed like a very far-fetched idea to me. A teleportation device? Perhaps only a time-machine would have been more out-there.

Interesting that we have a description for Revelations already, and not one for Going Underground.

The MASS Device seems out of left field. I'm not sure how I feel about it being involved here.

I kind of expected the finale to utilize all the various elements that the series had already debuted, and sort of thrown them at each other in a climactic confrontation. Without any particular wonder weapon being involved.

That being said, I do have faith in the writers at this point (generally speaking) and I'm 80% sure they'll hit it out of the park for the Finale.

Still kind of bummed that both parts of Revelations won't air on the same day though. These can't come soon enough for me.

I don't have anything against the MASS device except that it keeps popping up in different continuities over and over. Sunbow had it, I've been told that the IDW reboot comics used it (can't say for certain because I don't read them) and now Renegades, too? How about we think up a new super weapon for a change?

The MASS is iconic! It's a proper Cobra Doomsday weapon. I'm really pleased, and not at all surprised that they've used it for the finale.

I feel the same way about characters, but I almost always get shot down with such a thought.

New would not hurt G.I. Joe. Personally, I cannot see why the old can't be mixed with new.

I have nothing against the MASS device, I just hope doesn't look cheesy as Snake-Eyes and his damned swords (please stop with the swords Renegades staff).

Surprised that no one else has made this connection, but the MASS device showing up in the Renegades finale could be an indication that it may show up the 30th anniversary line.

This was a few years back, but in answer to one of those questions that were submitted, they did state they were looking into ways into making the MASS device pieces available for those with incomplete MASS devices.

Seeing how much Hasbro loves re-using molds, this seems like it'd be a no brainer.

Why are people getting upset that this isn't something new? This whole series has been one long homage to ARAH so why should the season (series) finale be any different? I'm actually excited and agree with some other posters that it probably won't be what we think it means.

LOL!! I think he Mass Device mini-series is possibly the best of the Sunbow toon, it will be interesting to see REN pay it's respects!!

even if they said that, that seems like it would have been their plan when they were planning on developing a full Renegades line and multiple seasons. now that the cartoon is done, and the figures probably not the focus, it is probably very likely the tie-in toys to the cartoon, like the mass device, won't see release beyond what we've already seen.

Good point. I think I'd like to see it turn out to be something other than a teleportation device, yet still labelled as a MASS device.

And yeah, the last big Cobra "project" they mentioned was that submersible transportation pod that Destro and CC were discussing last episode. Maybe some sort of MASS transit system for deploying Bio-Vipers and other CObra baddies in a sneaky snaky way.

I'm definitely now thinking that the MASS will have something to do with the subterranean transit system CC mentioned in "Cutting Edge". Besides, won't that bring things full circle in a way? Remember in episode 1, when they encountered that mysterious railway under the pharmaceutical plant, and one of the Joe's said, "What's Cobra doing with an underground train?"

Maybe MASS stands for something like Modular (or Mobile) Armored Subterranean....System...or Shuttle (like an armored pod). Something in that vein.

Also, I read on another site that the Finale will basically be a 3-parter (Underground and Revelations 1 and 2). Maybe it's just speculation on some poster's part, but it kind of makes sense. Sounds like we might get introduced to MASS in Underground.

I'd say the only problem with it is it's never really been used to its fullest extent yet.

Continuing from the end of underground, they will flashback to how Scarlett and Snake Eyes met, leading to his facial accident. Later Snake Eyes will discover a weapon that Scarlett's father was working on. She gets enraged because she can't fathom her father as a Cobra scientist leading to some flashback regarding her father and giving her the locket. The locket is the key to the weapon and Cobra comes for it and kidnaps Scarlett. The weapon is proof enough for Flint to join forces with the renegades. Together they storm the Cobra base. Snake Eyes goes off on his own to save Scarlett. Mass device is destroyed and the show ends with Hawk exonerating the renegades.

Wow, so it actually was the MASS device! The real genuine thing.

I was kind of shocked to see not only Dr. O'Hara die in that lab explosion, but a platoon worth of Cobra Troopers apparently die as well! Wow.

Well, I'd say the general direction of speculation about Scarlett's dad proved to be pretty close to the mark. He was indeed working for Cobra. I liked how that played out. Also good to finally learn how SE got the scars--and yet, still not get a really good look at his damaged face. At least, I didn't.
