Ok I just started getting into Sideshow's 12" figures less than a month ago and I am already hooked. I have 7 figures so far( Snake Eyes, Duke, Flint, Beach Head, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, and the Cobra Trooper ). I really love these figures, and I have never been a fan of 12" versions of A Real American Hero characters; well until now. I have heard the complaints and the praise about these figures. And I can see some of the negative points, but the only figure so far that has disappointed me is unfortunately Snake Eyes; my favorite character! Don't get me wrong I still think it is a good figure, but it isn't over the top great; which being Snake Eyes it should have been. I like the Prometheus style body, and on all of the other figures it does not bother me, even Storm Shadow. But the way they did Snake Eyes tight shirt it just makes him look emaciated. Also, the cloth on the head looks a bit odd at different angles. They should have done his head in all molded plastic; it would have looked much better.
So this brings me to my point. Sideshow has said( hinted ) that we are going to get a Commando style Snake Eyes early next year. Well this is their chance to fix the issues with Snake Eyes version 1. If we can assume that the figure will look like the statue, then no doubt he will have the same pants as version1( which is fine ), and have a thicker sweater like Beach Head and the exclusive Stalker. I am sure that the Commando head will be all plastic. What do you think the chances are that we could convince SS to include a "new" all plastic portrait with the classic style visor? This would basically be a quick fix, and make many fans happy. Especially, since they hinted we are getting Timber. Hey it worked for Firefly let's convince them to make an all new visor portrait for the new Commando Snake Eyes.
