I do I miss her long hair and the catsuit.

I pretty much love any version of Baroness (well, except for that blue-outfit version from the MASS Device), but I think the Renegades version trumps them all in refinement, class and smartness.

I think the shorter hair suits the character, giving her a more modern, corporate executive look.

The Renegades version really just exudes a sense of intelligence and control. In terms of her outfits, clearly that "power suit" from Homecoming was modelled on her ARAH "catsuit", but I like how now, its much more of an outfit reserved for combat, a real "battle suit", instead of her everyday-wear.

I'd love to see what the sculptors come up with for a "Battle-suit" Baroness. That's the one I really want, even though I like her trench coat look best in the context of the toon.

The renegade Baroness is too "emo" for my taste. Definitely the ARAH version

I really like the renegades updated look. Wish we would have gotten a figure of her as well as a Scarlett.. but you get what you can I suppose.

I'm a fan of the new look-- she looks like a powerful woman with a place in the boardroom as well as out kicking ass, practical, well put-together, not without elegance... I like long hair, but honestly, I think the short haircut makes more sense if she's going to be out getting her hands dirty. I think the trench coat is awesome.

She'll just have to save the leather catsuit look for when her relationship with Destro heats up...

Yeah, I like to imagine that the classic leather outfit she wore was something Destro himself designed and gave to her as a gift. She opened the box and pulled the suit out and said, "Oh, umm...great, uhh...*sigh*...thanks so much, darling. I'm sure YOU'LL enjoy this."

Yup, I'd say she was strutting around in that thing purely for Destro's benefit. Plain and simple. :)

Now, the power suit in Renegades--Destro (or MARS) really did design that, didn't they? And it, too, was quite form-fitting...

Remember those big posters they had displayed at JoeCon that showed the Renegades card art? I seem to recall an image of the Baroness in her trench coat being among them (which included Scarlett art, SS, Duke, etc.) I wonder if that was meant to indicate that we would be getting a trench coat Baroness. As I recall, we saw a corresponding figure for each of the card art images shown, except for Baroness.

EDIT:

Okay, there's the apparent card art I was talking about.

The Baroness is perhaps the best character re-invention in all of Renegades.

I'm very fond of the way they have portrayed her both in personality and appearance.

Maybe SDCC will have some good news on that subject.

Perhaps but I doubt it. Does anyone else feel they should use real guns?

I remember that being asked at the Joecon 2010 Renegades panel. The show's creators said real guns were out of the question as it was a TV show aimed at a child market. Apparently some law/rule about content. They have to make the best of what they have to work with under the restrictions imposed on them.

Can't help it, Renegades Baroness looks like a little nerdy girl to me. Definately a little girl wanting to be a grown up haircut. Or a fat old lady haircut, really old broads seem to have hair like this as well.

Loved the RoC look. Only redeeming thing about RoC is watching Sienna Miller in the skin tight leather suit. :)

Otherwise, ARAH all the way.

Actually, that kind of haircut has been on-trend somewhat recently. I don't know about now, I never keep up on that kind of thing, but I imagine that at the time they were doing character designs it was the case.

I like her classic look and her new look, but I'd welcome any outfit that looks functional. I can't wait to see her in an outfit without highheals myself =P

I'm pretty sure she's "just a countess."

One thing to consider is that since the show is aimed primarily for a younger audience there was probably an conscious attempt by the design team to de-emphasize her sexy look and possibly please politically correct types.

Dear God your right but common that in itself is BLASPHEMY!!! Also I don't remember parents complaining when Sigma Six, or American hero was on!

I'm reasonably sure that making sure the character appealed to the arrested sexual predilections of toy-collecting manchildren was far from the minds of the designers.

I think your comment is dead wrong. They may have decided to go counter to it, but I'd guarantee that the designers analyzed and evaluated what you described in your post.

Maybe the original look will be introduced later like Destro's mask was.

I like all of the incarnations of the Baroness but I gotta say the original dominatrix catsuit version is my all time fave.

All of the women in Renegades - especially Baroness - are drawn horribly. It feels like the artists didn't grow up drawing sexy women like the rest of us. Scarlett has a man's face, for example.

In terms of Renegades, I'm glad the figures don't match the show more closely.

I think they draw them that way on purpose. The only slip up they made is Lady J she's attractive.

I miss the old look a little but I REALLY like the Renegades version. Seems a little more fitting to the cunning, calculating, woman in charge that she is.

Ya know what? You're probably right. They probably did think about it. And then decided to go precisely in the opposite direction, and good on them.

Yeah that's how I feel. I think they've just refined things a bit in Renegades, in terms of her hair and outfit. Here, when you see her in her skin-tight "power suit", you know she's on a serious mission and intends to kick ass in a very purposeful way. Sure, she still fights while in her trench coat, but it's usually because she's been ambushed or surprised, and wasn't counting on having to fight.

See, I don't think a person like the Baroness would choose to wear a skin-tight leather outfit any more than she absolutely has to. The fact that she doesn't makes me take her more seriously as a character.

The artists still manage to suggest that she is an attractive and shapely woman, despite the stylized art.

I prefer the Renegades design of Baroness over all others. The RAH design was okay, but execution was horrible until the 09 Cobra 5pack II version...I just hope the figure that we will eventually get (fingers crossed) does justice to the Renegades design.

Agree with the too emo comment. Not a fan of the pig noses on her and Scarlett.Maybe, I don't quite understand what "emo" means. I thought it meant whiney, mopey and/or a generally depressing attitude. If it does, then this doesn't really sound like Renegades Baroness. Granted, it's rare that she's in a good mood but I see her as aggressive and professional. Attitude wise, I prefer her over the 80's toon version simply because that Baroness was only a step away from being Natasha from the Rocky & Bullwinkle show. As for looks, yeah I gotta admit I don't find Renegades Baroness that attractive. But hey it's 2011, not every female cartoon/comic character has to be hot. I also agree that it makes sense for this Baroness to have a more conservative look. Remember she spends a lot of time in the public eye as a corporate exec, so constantly strutting around in a leather cat suit would probably be an awkward look for someone in her position.

While nothing beats the classic catsuit, I really dig Baroness' new look in Ren. Like some have said it gives her more of a professional look but is still recognizably Baroness. My only complaint is not the design itself, but how she's drawn. I've still not gotten used to how the characters are drawn in Ren but the designs themselves are good. I like Baroness's attitude better too. Like maczero said in the Sunbow cartoons she was one step from Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle and as much as I love Res, her and Destro felt more like a bunch of love struck teens rather than 2 of the world's most dangerous terrorists. I like that in Ren she kinda stands up to CC in some small ways and I like how they hint that she and Destro have some romantic feelings but don't shove it in our faces either.

absolutely, the renegades one has the attitude, but to me does not look like BAroness at all, even my wife said is that supposed to be Baroness? She didn't care for the design either.

Yes! Thank you! I was starting to feel really alone in that same opinion regarding the designs. I don't love the way they are drawn necessarily, but I think the designs are very good, and some are great.

When many people say that they dislike the designs, I always wonder, are they really trying to say that they dislike the art style and how the designs are drawn? If the designs were drawn in the style of ARAH, or painted on a canvass in an ultra-realistic manner, or used to create action figures utilizing POC-style realism (oh wait....!), would they still dislike the designs? Or just how the designs happen to be rendered in the current cartoon?

The Baroness's old outfit was the reason why Duke allowed himself to be captured so often. I'd totally look forward to that interrogation.
