Tennessee G.I. Joe Sightings

I know that we are normally weeks if not months behind the rest when it comes to getting action figures.

The Antioch Wal-Mart (Hickory Hollow Mall Area) has about 10 each of the 5 packs, and all of the new 8 Inchers including the ones with the animals. They also had the 12 inch figures as well (looked like at least 2 different ones) several of each. The KB in Hickory Holl has the 5 packs at least 10 - 15 each. Target in Hickory Hollow has 2-5 of the 5 packs each and normally has a few of the singles and some 8 inchers. Target in Donelson has the Single packs and a few of the 5 Packs. Hermitage Wal Mart has both 5 Packs and Singles. The TRU in Madison (Rivergate Mall) has all of the above except the 12 inchers.

Hope this helps any TN collectors looking.

Well, It doesn't look like there are that many of us Tennessee folk here but, I thought I'd get the info out. I found wave 3 at the East Town Target this morning @ 8:30 in east Knoxville.

Just found the cobra legions 5 pack at Wal Mart...I OFFICIALLY HAVE THEM ALL...HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Stopped by a Wal Mart this morning in Sevierville, Tn with my son and, BAM!!! Wave 5! I snagged 2x Crimson Guard, and one of each of the rest. Looks like they had only one case, though. However, they had joes aplenty...six pegs worth to be exact! My best estimation was about 6 cases in all! All the figs were present and accounted for, except for Flint and Zartan. This is great!! Looks like Hasbro is coming through for Christmas!

nice score. hit roughly 25 different stores in a 300 mile circle here in western pa, and no wave 5 at all, and only 1 each of wave 4 minus destro and airtrooper, so my odds aren't so hot yet lol

The CG's are awesome! Haven't opened Snowjob, IG Destro, or Flash yet. Skipped on the black SE...We've got 6 different versions of him and, to be honest, we're kinda over it! (That coming from a SE fan!) All in all, these things are great!!

Target on Spottswood seems to be getting new shipments in every few days.
They had a CG in the stockroom and were kind enough to get it for me. I'm hoping they'll put the rest of that assortment on the pegs this coming week. Clearance was down to 75% and the 5 or so remaining Legion packs were gone.

Walmart in West Memphis had nothing except one Cobra trooper and a Destro/Breaker two pack.

Just thought I'd post. Hit 3 of 4 Targets in the Knoxville area today. If you want comic pack wave 1, you're set. If you want anything else, you're screwed. Singles, I found Ripper, Stalker, hooded CC, and black SE. No 5 packs at all. Didn't check WM or TRU. Happy hunting!

I just hit Target on Spottswood in Memphis again. They had some peg warming Beachheads, Hooded CCs and Stalkers, as well as all the first wave comic packs. I found a sympathetic stocker who went to the back and brought out an entire case of 2008 Wave 1 figs. I bought one of each, and there are several more of each left on the pegs.

if you are in Memphis and just cross the state line into Southaven/Horn Lake you can find wave 5 at Target. Or you could two days ago. I didn't look yesterday or today. They were case fresh. The box was still on their stockcart.

Mostly just wave 2&3 singles and wave 1 comic pks here in the Knoxville area right now. Haven't done too well at WMs. Target seems to be restocking them more often for some reason. IF you DO need wv 2 or 3, and you're in the neighborhood, the Target in Maryville has pretty much all of them except Serpentor!

Just wanted to give a shout out to all the Tenn locals! I spent most of my childhood spending my summers in Pigeon Forge (my dad owned a shop in Dollywood), and spent a lot of time in the mountains (Laconte, Chimneys, etc.) and traveling to Knoxville and Gatlinberg.

Lotta good memories in those areas, and a LOT of nice people!

The Wal-Mart in West Memphis had no Wave 3 Comic Packs.
The toy manager scanned the labels and said that here were none in the warehouse, but he had them ordered.

Wal-Mart in Munford (just north of Memphis) had all 4 wave 3 comic packs. I picked up WW/Ace, Twins, and the CG/Scarred Officer packs. I passed on the SS/SE pack. Meh.

Also, if you hit the collectible show at the I75 Expo center, you can pick up pretty much all the loose figs (minus variants) for $8 each. Also, for you vintage carded guys, there was quite a bit of nice carded original Joes there, too. I bit pricey for my broke self, but nice none the less. Wish I'd had the cash.

Yep, sure did! They had both packs. Haven't found any chain of command packs yet, though! Also, April 13th is definately the release date for those Target exclusives. I talked to a customer service rep there on Tuesday, and she confirmed it! I was able to give her the "my son has a birthday" speech and she got me the night spector w/ Grand Slam, but that's all she could give me. What sucks is I have Drill this weekend so I'll probably miss out:( Oh, well! I'm only really interested in the AWE Striker w/Crankcase so maybe I'll get lucky!

Normally I wouldn't post under here since I live in Georgia, but I went to Pigeon Forge this weekend and stopped at the walmart. Jackpot! Scored a Wild Bill, Spirit, 2 Vipers and a Snake Eyes..Got so excited, I walked off to the groceries to get what I came there for, then thought I'll go back and get the rest (2 snake eyes and a duke) for somebody else and when I got there, they were gone!

A couple weeks ago I was at the Knox TRU and the Turkey Creek WM and Target when the new vehicles(Vamp, Trubble Bubble wave) started showing up and noticed that someone had swiped figures out of the packs. I first noticed it at WM where the Televiper had been switched out. I reported it and handed to an employee in customer service but I'm not sure if she took me seriously. Then at target and TRU both, Clutch was taken out of the Vamp set. It's frustrating when the people accepting the return don't notice that the big picture on the back of the box shows an obviously different figure than that being returned. I guess its easy to bs an employee that probably doesnt care or know all that much about them.

Hey guys, please tell me one of you guys got the Resolute figs from the east Knox Target this morning. I found Cobra Flint (x2), blue Firefly, Torch (x2), and Blowtorch this morning. They also have another UBP out. Still $63, though. I'd like to have the Joes and the Mobat, could care less about the Cobras in it.

Oh, if anyone has any extras from earlier waves, we could use 'em. I guess I'm back in the game. My 6 year old has decided he's the family Joe nut, so I'm back, to a lesser extent. He needs Zartan w/skier, maybe 2 Eels, and possibly Airborne. Also would like to grab the comic pack with Scrap Iron. Also, if anyone has any extras from comic packs or 5 packs that they want rid of CHEAP, please shoot me a PM.

As I've said before, if you guys need something, list it or shoot me a pm. I'll only charge cost. We need to look out for each other and screw the scalpers.

Finally!!! Resolute comic packs in Memphis. Got my Shockblast and Tunnel Rat today at the Wolfchase TRU. One Destro/Shockblast left. Had 4 Cobra Divers and 3 Ninja Vipers on the pegs when i walked away... Also looks like they got in a dozen DVD set cases. Dozens on the shelves, the good ones are already gone.
For other Tankers in Memphis, i would be happy to keep an eye out for stuff your looking for. I'm up in Bartlett, but i visit Olive Branch and Southhaven at least twice a week, they usually get more than we do. I am trying to find the SW comic pack with Luke and Deena if you guys see it.
I wouldn't mind setting up local trades, too. Shipping is starting to add up!!!

I picked up a BnB Sgt Slaughter, a few extra Firebats, and caught my first glimpse of the WM 2-packs, which are all going to be custom fodder.

Today I hit 6 stores in search of ROC items I don't already have. I was 2 for 6. But here's some info for you ROC Middle TN collectors.

Wal-Mart by MTSU in Murfreesboro has a huge stock of single figures. Several vehicles, and I got my Gung Ho 2-pack there. There was 1 left when I left earlier in the week on a seperate display than the pegs.

The Wal-Mart by I-24 has a decent amount, including the MonkeyWrench/Tunnel Rat 2-pack that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Target by I-24 has a good stock of single figures. Nothing major.

TRU by I-24 has the TRU exclusive Barbeque. I picked mine up there. They have another 4 or 5 there, plus other random single figures. They also have the Resolute 5 pack (1 left).

The K-Mart on Broad St in Murfreesboro as of this morning had 4 of the ROC 4-packs (I've never seen them anywhere else). I picked 1 up, and there are 3 left.

The SuperTarget in Smyrna off of Sam Ridley has a great stock of single figures. They also have several of the $10 figures with a small vehicle (i.e. Snake Eyes w/Motorcycle, Eel w/sled, etc).

The Target in Antioch was about the same as the SuperTarget, so don't go out of your way if you live in Middle TN to go there.

All in all, the Wal-Mart by MTSU in Murfreesboro has the most single figures.

Let me know what you guys find. I'm still looking for (like everyone else) the ROC Serpent Armor with Viper. And I'll be looking for the Storm Shadow/Motorcycle pack that is a Target exclusive. Will keep everyone updated if I find anything.

I live in Arkansas about a 75 miles from Memphis. I noticed that Toys-r-us is having a pretty good sales on certain items I collect. All to often do I make a trip to toys-r-us in Memphis and find nothing. I have a few questions for those of you that have hit Toys-r-us lately, before I make a run to Memphis.
How is the stock on the Marvel Universe figures?
What about the GI Joe stuff?
What about the DC Universe stuff?
I will be picking up some of the legos on sale. How is the stock there?
Overall is this going to be worth a trip to me?

Just left Target in Murfreesboro and I see they've dropped all ROC figures to $5.99. From a recent post in the general area, I think this is a permanent move. So time to stock up on vipers and other figures if you need them for troop builders.

I saw wave 5 Storm Shadow & wave 4 Red Fang Ninja at that new Walmart near the hospital in JC. It's really weird, only those 2. Did somebody wipe out all the others? Did the store only put a couple out? Were they returns? Who knows!?! I was pissed there was no Charbroil or Snake Eyes.

I saw those 5 packs at Toys R us. They kinda suck!

Hopefully those battle stations will hit this area soon.

The Joes are starting to trickle in here at Memphis... I've been checking all the Wal-Marts (gotta love $5 figs), and here's what i found:

Still no white coat Rex in the boro. But the TRU has the attack on the PIT 5 pack, Snow Serpent, and Bench Press. And the TRU web site has the 2 5-pack troop builders. Target on Old Fort has several Rescue mission 4 packs.

Single figure pegs are still very clogged everywhere. The $5 figs at WalMart and Target don't seem to be helping clear the pegs. It's ashamed too, cause us collectors just won't be able to get the new waves unless we buy online.

Toys R Us on Saturday was a friggin madhouse! The parking lot was full, all the registers were open with lines going all the way back into the aisles. WTF??? It felt like Dec. 23rd or 24th.

I picked up 2 Snow Serpents, 3 Helix (what's the plural for Helix anyway?) & 1 Eel.

I don't really care of they restock or not because I'm not paying $7.99 when I can get them at Walmart for $5. Besides, the only figure I need right now is 1 Nano-Viper.

I need Target to get the wave 2 deluxes in (and the Clone Wars TIE Fighter). But even if they do I'll probably miss them because I never go to Target. That store sucks big time!

Last year we had a get together for Christmas in North East MS, and 3 tankers were able to attend. It was a really enjoyable time, and we had a lot of fun!

So once again, I am putting the call out for another (tanker) Christmas get together for this year.

Only this time we may be able to do something with North West AL, and South West TN tankers also being involved.

If anyone is interested in doing something like this then pm me, and we can begin to fine tune it.

Hey everybody, alright well i am certainly aware of the fact that i am not a TN Tanker but i was recently in TN for a few days and wanted to share a quick story with you all.

Well i just got back from my trip to North Carolina visiting the Biltmore. We stayed in Tennessee with a friend and on our way back to FL we stopped at a few stores here and there. I swore up and down that i wouldn't buy any ROC but i had a little extra cash on me and decided to see what all the fuss was about. All in all i picked up four figures. In Tennessee i grabbed Flash, Pit Commando and Crimson Nano Viper all for five bucks a piece at a Walmart and in Georgia i picked up a City Strike Snake Eyes for five bucks at a Walmart. IMO a nice haul for starters. Although i could have gotten so much more if i had more cash. I think i saw almost all the newer figures that are out, still wish i had grabbed that dang Charbroil, LOL.

I'm starting to see the newer figures a lot more lately. But always the same ones, Sand Viper, CS SE, Charbroil, Night Adder, CS Duke, wave 5 Ripcord. I never ever see Nano-Viper or Kamakura. Anybody in East TN ever see these 2 anywhere?

The Johnson City TN. Target & Toys R Us have to be the #1 most piss poor crappy Target & Toys R Us in the world! Those 2 stores NEVER restock! It's December, all the other stores are stocking up for X-Mas, but not these two, no way! Those two stores don't even have a clue that they have an action figure aisle. Come to think of it, K-Mart is kicking their ass this year.

So far I hit 6 Walmarts & only 1 had them. But they didn't have the medical droid, FX-7 or whatever they're calling him these days. I managed to get the IG Lancer droid, Saleucami Trooper, Imperial Engineer aka Death Star Gunner, gray episode III Trooper & 2 quad cannon Troopers.

They had snow Padme, Hologram Dooku, and a few other sucky figures.

I'm gonna keep checking. I gotta find that medical droid!

Target in JC had Some of Wave 2, they had Stormshadow, and the Airviper, picked up the Air Viper..also They had the Then and Now set...looks good..but i think ill wait on it till i get all of my Christmas shopping done. TRU had a huge restock of figures finally, but no kamakura which is the last figure im hunting..also if you need a CS Snake Eyes they had about 5.

I went to the Kingsport Target yesterday morning. They just put out a ton of the Star Wars BOGO packs. I had 1st pick. But they had a totally different assortment than Walmart. Not 1 pack worth a damn. Would have been nice if it was just a regular BOGO sale & I could have picked which ones I wanted but their combinations sucked.

They also put out a fresh case of DC Universe Classics wave 9, Mantis was right up front. But it wasn't the robot variant that I want, it was the goofy human version. So I left empty handed as usual.

Target in JC Had one of the new Transformers deluxes. Just 1 Dirge so I picked him up. One of the Walmarts in Kingsport had more of them, but only Dirge & Tuner Mudflap, no sign of Armorhide or Bumblebee.

Nothin new goin on with GI Joe. Probably won't be any Joe news for a long time. Still tons of wave 1-3 rotting on the pegs.

Picked up half the new Spidey 3.75" line and 2 R2-X2s fresh out of a case in Cooksville, TN overnight.

Never saw a single Outpost Defender from 81 to 40 or 40 to Memphis. :( Really had hoped to find one, but everyone is sold out.
