Air Trooper Opinion

Do you guys accept this trooper into your 25th Joe-verse? Or did you skip out on him? He's relatively new to the line and doesn't have a history or ties--that I know of--to the eighties comics, cartoons, or figures.

The Air Trooper is part of the 25 years of GI Joe, so it fit's in the line, which was/is what the 25th line is all about.

I agree he fits perfectly in the ranks, and if you dont like the idea of him being a air trooper, you can turn him into like an incinerator in training.. like a flamethrower troop

I like them - especially since they came with regular trooper helmets, to fold them into the trooper ranks if you didn't especially go for the air trooper.

The Air Trooper is a nice 'expanded universe' figure. Even though we hadn't seen them before, they easily blend in with their contemporaries in both concept & execution.

I bought two of these 'officer pilots' and because of his similar colour scheme, use Scarface as their 'ground co-ordinator'. Together they make a nice little sub-unit.

i really like the Air Trooper. i think the mask and webgear look great, and that they are a nice addition to the cobra trooper ranks. i decided to army build them, so i have 18.

Thats my exact opinion too, I like Air Troopers. I'm hoping Wave 10 Cobra Bazooka Trooper is a slightly different "blueshirt" with new weapons. I would be cool with the Cobra Para-Viper being also an extension of the Cobra Trooper.

As long as it is the 25th style body then he is officially part of my cobra Army... Unlike the Rowdy Roddy Pipper, who has a 25th logo (from what I hear) but is the old style Joe body-he isn't included in my Joe-verse... It's all about the body style for me

I prefer Cobra Troops over Vipers, and like to sub-divide them into catagories.
Red logo means regular grunt, silver logo is base security, grey webbing (TRU version) means he's an NCO, while the DVD pack version will get the Baroness' backpack and become a 'battlefield engineer'.

This is far preferable (for me, anyway) than everyone having totally different uniforms and as such, the Air Troopers fit in perfectly.

The extra helmet and weapon did it for me. Plus with jet pack Duke and now Stalker - they have their perfect adversaries!

Well I have to voice a contrary opinion. I don't really care for the air trooper myself. I like that they put the figure into the 5-pack because, the way I see it, it gave me a 2nd blueshirt in the pack. I see him as a Cobra Officer with accessories. I prefer to use the jet pack with other figures and leave the mask on the side. He resides with my Scarface(s), and the Cobra Trooper to make up the blueshirt ranks.

I like him, and I use a few for officers, and their masks are used for "septic emergency masks" for my Cobra Maintenance Troops lol

I think he's one of the coolest looking figures we've got.

But then, I've always been into the "sci-fi" aspect of Joes, and he looks robot like with his helmet.

I really like them, love the mask and jetpack... Really although I army build I only want a few (in multiples of 3 to make a shoutai style arrangement)... I was never a fan of the GI Joe jetpacks but having Cobra have jetpacks makes me like the idea a bit more.

Actually, there were blueshirts in the old Joe toon (at least one episode)that were clad with a blue version of the Jump jet pack. They had the regular helmet, not the air troop helmet. I assumed it was from this that the idea from the air troops came from. I accept the air troops into ranks with no problems.

I like him. I mean, he's just a Cobra Officer with some extra gear, so what's not to like? I hope this is how they end up doing the "Bazooka Trooper" and anything else like that...

It adds some much-needed versitility to Cobra's ranks. In Star Wars Battlefront, the Dark Trooper's jet-pack made him a lethal weapon in certain stages, so it stands to reason these guys could do a potentially great job at harrassing the Joes.

yes and no. No as in he isn't an air trooper for me. I use him to man the guns of the blue target hiss tanks so I have two of them. The third one is manned by scarface. I think they look better in there and with the yellow gear and red facemask they look different. I used one jet pack for my Grand Slam and the other one I sent to another tanker. The helmets are being used for something else so yes they are part of my line but no they are not air troopers.
