Just a quick one I threw together after getting the bug to buy a vintage one.
Recipe: Body - TF Flint
Head, Backpack, pistol and bandolier - Jet Pack Duke.
Grenade Launcher - BBI
Helmet - Comic pack Hawk
I had a hard time finding a color I liked, had to go with a crap brand, and it made me remember why I like Tamiya so much. I tinted the visor instead of painting it black...I wanted it to still be transparent, though it didn't come through as much in the pictures....I'll take some more under the right lighting and filters. I painted the camo to match the vintage as best as I could from reference pics. (BTW, I'm looking for a vintage one...willing to trade a MOC Black Timber S.E.!) So, really quick one, had fun with it....got a more complicated one coming at the end of the week.

Nice job! I really like the tinted visor as opposed to a painted one. Awesome, looks great!

Nice! :D
Who else, besides me, would buy a Hasbro-made Starduster (assuming he looks JUST like this) if he were the next mail-in figure?

It looks like a decal. Am I right?

Yep, it's a decal I made.
And to answer gunslingercbr, I am getting lots of chipping on the shoulders. Which is why I hate cheap paints. No one in town sells Tamiya anymore, and I have to drive 40 minutes out of town to get them.
edit: BTW, I always make a few extra in case I screw up, so I have three more decals if anyone wants them.

I want a decal, that's all I need for my Starduster.

There is a Krylon Matte spray paint that will also help preserve the paint and keep it from chipping. Also if you dremel out the arm sockets a little where they still fit snugg but don't rub and add a layer of superglue before putting the arms back on it will also help the paint chipping problem.
there is another Starduster Custom out there.. expect to see it at the Con.

Yeah, I had thought of that too. I normally don't have a problem with it, I just think it's the cheap paint I used on this one.

Folkart. Absolutely Craptastic! I normally use Tamiya, but I think I already mentioned why I didn't use it this time.

What stores sell Tamiya paints? I checked at Michaels and they don't carry them... not even Testor model masters paints. I found one bottle of Testors olive drap paint but it was enamel, so there's no way I'm using that.
I ended up getting the Craft Smart olive green paint though. It says that it's manufactured FOR Michaels... has anyone used it? Anyone know how good/ bad it is?

You'll need to go to a hobby shop. I use Testors Model Master, and have the same problem. It's an hour's drive to get to anyplace that sells it. Hobby Lobby sells a limted selection of Model Master acrylics, but they're as far away as a real hobby shop. I love having use 20 dollars worth of gas, just to buy a three dollar bottle of paint.
Nice! :D

i would luv this being a mail-in.
