I Built A Castle, But It Wasnt Anything Like That Sweet Cobra Temple That I Think You Are Talking About
I Think The Guy That Built That Sold It To One Of His Buddies And They Had To Disassemble It To Get It Out Of The Basement!!

As you can kind of see in pic 2, the floor is cluttered, so yes, I had to set up on a spare bed. :P

Doing Dios is easy if you do a little research and plan stuff out.
I do all mine with my 8 year old son, and he plays with them constantly.
Our first one was a Ranger Building:

And our second one was dealing with rock and trees etc...

And our third try was using clay for stone work...

I'm open to questions - I get them all the time... I love inspiring folks to try out their own stuff. I've met quite a few people through showing our how-to's....
The end result is having wicked backdrops for shots like this:

For full step-by-step photos with some instruction, you can check out my flickr account, it's all there in glorious color!

I am planning on making a Joe base complex by putting together the original 80's headquarters, some of the smaller units (Check Point Alpha, Watch Tower), the 90's headquarters and some stuff from build-a-rama. I have already built a platform for it (I used a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood and covered it with green felt). And I recently acquired an 80's headquarters and a checkpoint alpha. I am hoping to win the 90's base on ebay tonight and the watch tower so I can hopefully put it together by 4th of July weekend.
What else do you think I can add to it? Any suggestions?

Both of those are really cool. How do you make a good city scene?Doing Dios is easy if you do a little research and plan stuff out.

My friend Mandingo Rex and I have been working on some cool graphics to make dioramas. I started a thread over in the customs area.
So far I made a G.I. Joe control room and a hanger.
I just finished some Cobra themed graphics.
It's all foam core with printed graphics applied.
I put the graphic files on my site for download, their free:

These playsets/dios are great! Has anyone made or attempted to design some stuff utilizing Rapid Prototyping Equipment/3D printers? I think this will be my next step.
I have a lot of my stuff set up like Soundwave Viper's with lots of small dio pieces from other lines but it isn't as nicely color coordinated as his.
