I made up some rules for a Joe table top game. It involves character cards, special moves, and of course, dice rolling! Borrows from a few other games, but it's a heckava good time.

Who wants to see the rules?

I had inquired about the possibility of a G.I. Joe game on the Wizards of the Coast message boards last year. I actually talked to one of the product managers at WotC who told me that Hasbro almost approved one like the Star Wars CMG. They had it in development and then pulled the idea, saying that it would never sell unless there was a movie or new T.V. series out. As of now, I'm hearing rumblings that one may come out next year in support of the G.I. Joe movie. It'll probably be the same style as Star Wars, with 7 random figures per pack (with varying rarities). But they could also do 'huge' packs down the road, covering the plethora of vehicles in the G.I. Joe universe. Keep your fingers crossed.

I went back and checked my source: The guy's name was Chris Pramas with Green Ronin Games.

Chris is a big wig in the gaming world. Gaming geek since 1980! :)

I'll do some searching but I used to have a rule set and documents that someone put together for you to use your figures and vehicles...

Yeah, I should have said 'former employee' at WotC. Too bad he doesn't have any influence on them now. Somebody over there needs to be paying attention to the current trends in gaming and how much they could make on a Joe game.

Hey, I'm going to San Diego Comic Con for the first time and this is one of my missions. I plan on visiting Hasbro and WOTC to find out if there are any plans for an RPG, CMG, or at least an "actual" card game, as opposed to that piece of crap war game that came out a few years ago.

Excellent! They need to listen to some die-hard fans about this, because they can make this happen in time for the movie.

I did something akin to this years ago, you draw up the rules and I'm in.
