1) Just for display

or do you...

2) Play

"Both" should be an option, but when it all comes down to it, when you buy new figures, are you more excited to see it on your shelf or kicking butt on the carpet?

Definately "both" for me, but "play" wins out. I'm a very tactile person when it comes to toys; looking isn't enough, and when I pick them up my imagination inevitably kicks in. No matter how old I get, that won't change (nor would I want it to!)

I'd like to say that as a 36 year old father of two, my playing army guys is far behind me. I just buy these Joes and display them. Of course the fact that setting them up in imaginary battle scenes IS playing with them isn't something I'd admit to.

I display only, but my 2yo daughter loves to grab them and sneak away with them. I'll find them in the strangest places. The other day I found some crimson guards attacking the Mickey mouse club house.

I buy'em and my four year old plays with'em. Ok so I play with them with my son. I am going thru my second childhood, I have another son that is 1 and will get recruited by big brother into the Joe universe. So for the forseeable future the option will remain PLAY

If you make shooting or explosion noises while you're setting them up, then yes that would be playing.

I just looked at some pics of people's figures on another thread and...you guys are definitely playing with them. All this "move 'em around a bit" stuff is bull.

Why didn't you included an option of "both"? I marked "display" but I really do both of those things with my Joes. Kicking Cobra Commander's rear with Flint never gets old. I only need the 25th Lady Jaye figure to play the episode "The Gamemaster".

Both man, display and play! I might be in my 30,s but I still like to play Gi Joe. Hell one day I was getting down and dirty with my figs (vintage joes), making the laser rifle noises, bomb noises and other special affect noises and the wife came home early........boy that was embarrassing. Even to this day I have yet to live that one down and that was 10 years ago! and you wonder why we got divorced....

Display. My girlfriend is pretty amazing when it comes to my hobbies, but if she saw me playing with my Joes like I did in my youth, well...let's just say I would have a lot more time to spend on Hisstank! :)

Mostly display, and when I have nothing to do I'll sneak out a couple to the work desk and start making "pew pew" noises and funny voices.

If I feel like the plot is going somewhere I'll start bringing in the Transformers and dinosaurs.

In short, if you see me playing with Transformers, dinosaurs, and Joes on my desk then leave me alone because I might have a great story in the works.

Apparently my wife has a different definition of "Play" than I do. My daughter brought her into my toy room to look at the display I had made with the Transportable Tactical Battle Platform and some leftover christmas "snow." She found it all "weird and sort of creepy." Good to know my wife understands my hobby so well.

Display. I've bought at least two of all the singles with the intention of opening one, but somehow have yet to get to it. I've gotta open a BAT though.

I'm looking forward to picking up a ton of those Joe-style clamshells next month!
