I was looking through Storm Shadow vs. Firefly issue that came with the two packs and obviously noticed Slice and Dice as well as Tripwire and Tunnel Rat in the issue.

Here is my concern. I they release Tripwire using the colors in the comic, which are purple and orange. Will you still buy it? I feel this would be the day I would start thinking about quitting collecting GI Joe. Especially if Hasbro continues to use wacky colors such as in the 90’s.

They won't release TW in comic colors. Hasbro already said, when a character debut's in a comic pack, it will be in regular colors and not comic pack colors. And so far, that's how they've done it.

The flourescent colors is what turned me off to GI Joe in the 90's, but I have a feeling they won't make that mistake twice.

This color scheme is an homage to the Funskool figure of Tripwire. While I think it is as garrish as they come, I like it a lot for some reason, especially the "Bomb Squad" chest plate. Tripwire is one of those figures that had some interesting repaints over the years including Listen n' Fun, Tiger Force, international figure Blades (Awesome!), and the crazy Indian Funskool. Tripwire is a personal favorite of mine and I would not mind seeing Hasbro do 25th versions of all his variants starting with the original of course. Check out the link!

Ha ha!

Look at his FunSkool file card. He's a "Mini Detector!"

I was already disgusted at the color of the previous waves of SS/SE, Duke/CC/, Scarlett/Hawk........

The color makes them look horrible, except for Hawk. I don't think Hasbro learn at all from their mistakes.

And Destro with Breaker looks like the color scheme for Pythona.

you know something else that got me about some of the comics.
:::spoiler:::

in the Shipwreck comic they were talking about Ace in THE Sky Striker and THE Whale and THE Shark. Man even in the comics the Flagg only holds one jet? WTF?

....are they supposed to refer to it as "Skystriker ####" or "WHALE #4?"
I'm just not sure what article you want them to use? Also, let's be honest....these comics were pretty rushed. I can kinda see what you mean, but...eh. I was just happy to read new comics.

"Torpedo, who do we have up there on CAP*"

"that would be Captain ACE Admiral, flying a racecourse pattern in the sky-striker call name HIGH CARD"

"at least nine bandits sir! Cobra Rattlers by all the readings"

"Hight Card to Quarterback Give ME intercept vector to bandits. I am ready to light up tailpipes and take names"

"no rattlers are getting through, sir"
"Captain Armburster is seeing to that Quite smartly"

now read into that what you would like but it sure does sound to me like ACE is up there alone. Also from the pics I don't see any other Joe jets in the air.

Now I agree that it is good to read something new and for the most part I liked it a lot. The only thing about it is I thought it was funny that ACE was up there alone. And the Flagg only had 1 shark, 1 sky striker and 1 whale. Or that's how I read it. Other than that I thought it was great.

Agreed. No more "rainbow bright" colors.

I would not be surprised if we got some Tripwire repaints, but probably in Tiger Force (in the upcoming single carded version). I think there would be some upset people if the first version of Tripwire released was the purple one.

And the Flagg only had 1 shark, 1 sky striker and 1 whale.

The Joes can't afford to army-build vehicles, especially with all the cool releases coming up.

From what I've known and read about the F-14 Tomcat, you only need one. :P

Tripwire has always been one of my favorites. It would have been nice to see him with a removable helmet. And down the line if they re-paint him in the funskool colors, I'm up for it. Regular & Tiger Force first, though
