Hi everyone, This was announced on April Fools Day. I haven't heard a thing about it since, or seen any info from Shout Factory on it.
Anyone know if this was a legit announcement?
thanks,
Pete

Ever since I tried to order cashew chicken by typing /panda in world of warcraft, I have not trusted anything announced on April first.

Yeah with it being on April 1st I think it might have been a joke.

Aw man, I hope it wasn't an April's Fools joke...that is not funny to post fake news on an website. I understand getting into the Spirit of April Fool's Day, but to me it's like the whole Orson Welles War of the Worlds thing

Well don't go kill yourself over it (ie WotW radio show style). I mean there are still some Korean websites you can watch it on if you really want to.
here is one of my favorite clips to tide you over:

After stumbling into this thread the other night, I posted a quick message over on the Shout Factory boards and asked if they could confirm or deny a release date for the DIC episodes. This was the response left by Brian Ward
(producer of the ARAH Footlocker/season sets):
I can't confirm or deny an official date, but I can say that we never said it was this year. I believe that ad simply read, "Coming Soon!" We are hard at work on too many other projects at the moment and I want to be able to devote the attention it deserves, so I wouldn't necessarily expect it this year. Things could change, if things are unloaded from my plate, but I doubt I can get to it right away.
So, yes the announcement was legit.

Yeah, there was no doubt it was legit, as it was in the JoeCon program - and they couldn't control when you might see that. Plus, it was confirmed at the convention.
Sounds like it might not be ready for some time, though. From what I've read, they are working to the wire on TF: Headmasters, which seems pretty standard procedure for them.

The DiC series was awesome. Someone on another board had the seasons on a DVD set. I can neither confirm nor deny if I have a copy but I can say that they are as fun to watch now as they were 20 years ago. I would lover to see these as an official release but until then...

I thought the Dragonfire min-series was good but the first season was mediocre and second season was just unbearable.

Yikes! If you thought Operation Dragonfire was good but the rest were progressively worse in quality then I really worry about watching the rest of the episodes. I watched Operation Dragonfire and that was horrible. People talk about the '87 movie being bad... yeesh!
