POC HISS Attack Scout
Just acquired recently the latest wave of Alpha Class vehicles in the POC line… The Cobra HISS Attack Scout. I bought this to complement my POC Black HISS Tank.
Here’s a short review.

Out of the Box
Out of the box, here’s what we’ll get…

.HISS Attack Scout
.Driver
.Sticker sheet and instruction sheet
.Diorama
The Driver
The driver is the same as the 25th HISS tank driver and came with the handgun (no figure stand included).

The HISS Attack Scout
The HISS Attack Scout comes fully assembled. Like the POC HISS, the scout has working rubber threads that rotates with the wheel once pressed & pushed.
The driver can easily fit in the cockpit. A peg at the back is provided for one trooper to ride on. However, there is no handle bar provided at the cannon.

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/6226/61524423.jpg
Unlike the POC HISS, there is not much stickers that came with it so I just followed the instruction sheet.

The only thing that I complain about the vehicle is that the designers did not consider that there should have been a canopy to protect the driver. As you can see, he’s all exposed.

Here’s a picture with other Cobra Troopers from Wave6.

Get it!!!
Hopefully we can.
As of right now rumor has it that it might end up being an internet exclusive here in the US.
Thanks for the pictures and review though.
It looks great!

Thanks for that mate, for some reason I really like the the look of this thing, especially with the driver in it. He is pretty exposed at the front but from the side he looks totally protected, I dunno just something about how low he sits in there looks awesome. I will definitely try and pick this up.
Except for the blue Cobra symbol on the drivers chest, I like the package. The red details on the vehicle also seem to clash against the blue. But I hadn't seen any hints that there was any blue on the vehicle or figure before this and it looks nice.

Thank you for sharing the picts! Looks ok but it has always seemed unfinished to me, not sure why I think that way about it but it looks like it's missing the top of the vehicle.

Thanks for the pics. I really thought I'd like this when it came out. But for some reason I'm not digging it. Maybe once I have it in hand, it'll be cooler.

Great review - thanks for posting. Repaint driver looks ok, but the vehicle itself looks meh to me.

All this is good for is to put a tank body on top of it without having to tear apart a POC HISS IMO. It's like Hasbro said "here, have some treads". They could have at least gave it a cover of some sort.

I figure, it being a 'scout', his job is to get up front to see what's going on... then get back and report as fast as he can. Since his job is to gather intel, battle-readiness isn't a priority... and the wide open cockpit gives him an unobstructed view.

Well, it seems the recent Walmart resets are a good sign that we might see the Alpha vehicle assortment in stores - as my WM (that stopped carrying Joes) now has shelf space for POC Alpha vehicles and POC single figures.

I'd imagine in that thing getting back would be the hardest part.
I can see Destro telling the Commander they are all out of Scouts...
I'm not a big fan, If it was smaller, and an unmanned Hiss that would be pretty bad ass, but this just seems like they ran out of parts in the manufacturing division and they had to play paper rock scissors and the loser gets to ride in the "scout".

my exact thoughts sam.. the driver i would actually build em.. the vehicle looks like something that wasn't finished cause they realized it was worthless on the battle field, so became a scrapped idea..

I agree, and I think it looks half-finished to me because this is what the Hiss scout reminds me of:

It's be cool to get one and put a roll cage on it.

What's in this wave of Alphas anyway?
there are only 2 in this wave...
the hiss scout & the cycle armor..
both were locally released here in the Philippines last May 21 via toy distribution along with Captain America First Avenger toys, Marvel 2011 W2, and GI Joe POC Wave 5 & 6...

THAT'S your only complaint??? The fact that it's just 2 treads, a seat & an Ice Cutter gun doesn't bother you? The designers didn't consider that 75% of the vehicle is completely missing. For the next wave of alphas I want a set of Vamp tires & a gas can. That's it, just throw 4 tires & a gas can in a box & charge me $20 + tax.

You're crazy if you think I'd burn money on that piece of crap. There are Generator Rex & Ben 10 vehicles that blow this thing out of the water.
I do want the driver though

I like to think of it as deliciously old school. It's like a FANG on wheels!

Yeah, that's why I'm inventing reasons to like the vehicle. Cobra pod racing! VROOOOM!

As has been said. I like how low he sits. And who is going to complain about rubber treads? Really its not future proof but its nice.
I think it works as a scouting vehicle even without the rollcage.

Anyone have a pic of this Hiss scout connected to the POC Hiss? I thought there were latches on the POC Hiss so it can tow the scout.

I love how that DANGER can also be a foreshadowing to the driver sitting there.
I wonder if one of the casters might be able to make some sort of canopy or even a control interface to cover the front to give the driver a little more protection.

I still like the driver design. I would have liked another in red since they are in the same motor pool. Oh well. It is cool looking. I'd buy it if I could find them.

Yea. I definitely get that vibe from this vehicle.
I just opened the one I have. I'm hoping to score one more. I like it and I like how it attaches to the PoC Hiss. It is a little back heavy when you do, but if you keep the tank down, then you can balance it somewhat. If you pop up the tank, then it will tip back for sure. The colors on the driver are awesome, too.

I must the one of the few who thinks this is a lowsy vehicule, it has nothing, not even aan cocpit door and the connectivity with the hiss, looks terrible, unpractical and plain stupid. They should have designed a troop carring pod for 4 troops and equipment to be transported by the hisstank instead of this...

I dont care for this vehicle at all. Too bland, boring and the colors dont work.

I just got one, and for those who think they might want to build a post apoc dual tread all terrain speeder, this buds for you. I like the little guy. I think I will build him at least a partial canopy to cover his legs though.

Just recieved my case with 2 Hiss Scouts & 2 Arishikage Cycle Armours but they have these gold sun burst stickers that say Fan Expo Canada special 2011 on them. Anyone else get these on their items, I didnt know if thats where they are being massed released through conventions or just Canada & Canadian conventions. Anyways just curious is all?

I really need to pull the trigger on this toy. I want, like, six of them, but since ebay is my only option right now I may settle on 2. I guess $40 shipped isn't too bad...
I know the scout isn't perfect, but I really like the way it looks, the colors are great, and even for a repaint, the HISS driver looks so sharp. Plus the turret that this comes with look great on the HISS v5!

Yay! Double post almost a month later!
I just got one off ebay from a super fast shipper who didn't even charge me shipping! I will say $30 with free shipping makes me think its possible to troop build these guys if that seller continues to offer up that glorious free shipping!
As for the toy itself, I'm happy with it. Its quite a fun little attack vehicle with nice contrasting colors, and a matching cool repainted driver. I have yet to attatch it to a HISS v5, I'm having too much fun so far just running it around!
I do wish the treads were a little tighter on the tank wheels, but I don't know if over time that would hurt the rubber or something.
It would be boss if this hit the US in a matching crimson theme to accompany the HISS tank but thats a pipe dream I'm sure.

I ordered one too. If they were cheaper I'd like at least another. Yes a Crimson version would be nice as with a Rip-it blue colored v5 HISS to go with as well.
