okay, I was at TRU tonight and saw about 2 of those 5-pack Joes.

I wasn't really interested since i already have one, mind you.

but out of boredom, probably, i flipped the cover...... and to my surprise the "plastic packaging" or the way it was hold/place was different.

I noticed first, they brought the single card files more to the front (upper left), so you can see it upfront rather than underneath. then Duke and Scarlett were like standing on their figure stand. (lower left, below the cards) then Gung-Ho was like lying down, underneath the GI Joe ensignia. Snake Eyes on corner at the right. and right above Snake Eyes, was Road Block. but roadblock was like in an akward position.... on a "let's get humping" position aka "dog" posture.

I swear I was like laughing when I was looking at it. I dunno if any of you guys saw that at your local stores or whatnot. but that was the weirdest packaging i've ever seen.

Maybe it was a returned set and they just did a half assed job putting them back in the plastic.

That's pretty random, lol. I'd definitely like to see it though...

Damn, man, I'm glad I'm not ALL about variants, or I'd be friggin' broke buying everything :D

I found Joe and Cobra 5 pack with this new arrangement over the weekend. I'll try to get a picture up.

I keep getting the message that my pics are too big. What should I do, find a smaller camera?

here are some pics of the new 5-pack packaging orientation, and the original to compare it to.

I'm glad I havent bought a set to keep MIB I like these variants much better. Duke looks like he's screaming YO JOE! The action poses are much better IMO. I also just noticed Destro's suitcase gun is now visible

Well i won't hunt these down but if i see them i'll have to buy them. Who would have thought a simple rearrangement of figures would suck another fifty bucks out of my pockets

I would imagine that Baroness won't have as many warped leg issues now

yeah, Duke's pose is cooler, but why the heck are Gung Ho and Roadblock flying?!?

I like the Cobra pack set with SS leaning on the side versus spreading his legs??

And from the looks of things, they aren't packed into the case as much as before, so we might not see as severe a warped hands or bent weapons due to packaging.

Are the figures in these packs gonna be available in singles on card?

I keep getting mixed answers.

Hasbro says yes.

They look much easier to remove from the package. They are not as embedded in the plastic as the first version. Hasbro seems to have addressed the issue of warping/bending. The first version of the packaging was so difficult to remove figures from that I had some arms and hands pop off trying to get the figures out. Removing the base stands was also a pain, the new package is a little more user friendly.

It was their response to one of the Q&A sessions, so I would say their intent is confirmed. I guess you can't be certain until you actually see them on shelves, but we're on the right track at least.
