12 films...if you count the remake, lots of mayhem, but in all that carnage, what is the the scene that stands out most for you?

I'd add a poll, but come on 12 films there would be too many options.

Well that last one when he was in space was epic garbage

BUT

the best scene was in the holographic room where he is beating the campers in the sleeping bags

I was laughing my ass off. Best scene ever from the franchise.

For me it's the harpoon to the nuts in The Final Chapter and knocking Julius's head off in Jason Takes Manhattan (I still laugh at that scene).

Honorable mentions, Jason taking a machete to the side of the head in The Final Chapter, the head crush in Part 3 and Julianna Guill's "stupendous" tits in the remake.

I actually liked Jason X...bad acting, good killing and a ridiculously jacked Jason = a good Friday film!

Most memorable scene? Hmmm...there are a few. I'd probably have to go with New Blood when he starts getting his ass handed to him by Tina.

Between squeezing the mask till it shattered on his face, sending a TV upside his head, choking him with a light cord and droping him through a flight of steps...you see one thing that you never saw Jason do before: Get frustrated with a victim. He pulls the cord off from his neck, throws it down and huffs and puffs for a minute...that was pretty cool.

I always thought in VI when he stood in front of the VW and popped the tire through the fender, that was pretty "classic" Jason.

I also have a machette autographed by Kane Hodder :)

I always liked part 2 (the first one I saw when I was about 8ish on The Movie Loft TV 38) and the dude in the wheelchair who gets the machete across his face and goes down the stairs. I also thought the potato bag was a hell of a lot scarier than the hockey mask. One of my favorite franchises up until Jason Goes to Manhattan.

Freddy V. Jason was also pretty good. Lots of good scenes with the water, etc.

The MOST memorable scene in the ENTIRE movie franchise MUST be from the end of the first Friday the 13th movie when the decaying Jason "jumps out of the water" and attacks the girl in the canoe. EVERYONE jumped at the theater (that was one of the first "surprise attack" endings in a movie which has now become an obvious cliche in all horror movies). Up to that point the killer was his mom..after that the undead & unstoppable Jason became the killer AND his first appearance was the "dream" attack at the end of the 1st movie.

The child Jason lake attack is definitely a good one.... for me though, the visual of him chained to a giant rock at the bottom of the lake stays with me.

I hated the remake by the way...maybe I hated it in all the right ways though.

That was the 1st time I watched actors in a movie theatre and thought to myself "I hope all these fucking assholes die!"--and most of em did, which was good.

Wait, that might not be the 1st time...what came 1st the remake or ROC? :)

I thought Kirzinger was like the worst Jason ever and the efx were awful..why the hell did all the blood spray like a friggin sprinkler system??

Cool concept though, good final fight and the soundtrack was awesome.

I have a script autographed by the cast....Englund's is the only one worth a sh*t.

One of my favorite moments...there are so many...comes in The New Blood, when that blonde opens the cabin door and Jason nails her in the head with an ax and then causually tosses her across the room behind the TV.

I'm not why I like it, but I think its because it happens so quickly and is completely bad ass.

That is hands down the best Friday, and easily the Jason most captured in figure form.

Cant forget the one handed sleeping bag swing against the tree!

Yes I love 1 and 2, because aside from a few time frame issues they have a great storyline.

3, 4, and 5 while okay start to trail off and become worse with each film.

6 and 7 rock with it really being hard for me to chose which is better...both stores rock but the cast on 6 is a little more developed as characters than the cast of 7...Tina being the exception, but Jason in 7 is THE definative look.

Jason takes Manhatten is sorta campy but fun, and while I know from the book Crystal Lake Memories (great read by the way) that Manhatten was plagued with massive budget cuts and caused the film to come out...looking cheap...its also still is just a bad film. I know that originally Jason was in Manhatten much earlier in the film and would have had scenes in Madison Square Garden I think Julius's fight scene was supposed to be in the Garden instead of a roof top, and there was supposed to be a scene on the Brooklyn Bridge as well as at a few other NYC landmarks. The script was approved and so was a budget that would have allowed for that but when Paramount started preproduction the cut budget like seriously and filming in NYC was almost impossible except for the two or three nights they got to film in Times Square which forced a huge re-write and made the bulk of the film on the boat, and Canadian sets dressed like NYC. That said its still a dog of an ending.

Jason Goes to Hell was a cluster f...of which I actually blame Sean Cunningham for he agreed to come back to close the franchise, but then basically handed the film to his nephew (the director) but demanded two things...kill Jason and lose the hockey mask...which he hated for some reason. Which left makers with a big...what the hell do we do now? Hence the body hopping story....which blew.

Jason X...for some reason I find fun...yeah its not scary but I think they realized that at this point and went for how silly can we make this film. And writer Todd Farmer takes the blame for suggesting Jason in space but while his name is listed as writer he's said often that 90% of what he wrote didn't make it to the screen...basically he wrote a script and then the producer and director re-wrote near all of it...which he hated but hey the check cleared so it was their film do what you want with it.

Freddy vs Jason was pretty decent, I mean it was nothing amazing considering its basically a double rehash of characters until Jason and Freddy duke it out...which was the real winning element of the film...and it rocked.

The remake was a steaming pile of crap...I knew it when they basically boiled his origin down to a 5 minute opener, and then it only got worse when I realized they basically took elements of 1, 2, 3, and 4 and made a movie from that.

I had no problem with Jason running, or using tactics, but the biggest issue I had was Jason taking prisoners....it was completely stupid, out of character and its only point was to forfill the happy ending of a brother saving his sister....personally it would have made more sense if she had died and the other girl lived....and HOW this remake did better in theaters than My Bloody Valentine 3D did I have no idea.

I enjoyed Fvs.J. It wasnt a masterpeice but it kept me entertained. Mya fave in the series is The Final Chapter. I think Jason looked the coolest in this one too. The dirty hock with the bloody axe mark and long dirty fingernails and little strands of hair on his malformed head. Just brutal.

After much thought, Julianna Guill's nude scene in the Friday the 13th remake, absolutely made that movie watchable. That maybe the best scene of the entire series. Her boobs are epic.

Exactly.

I have no idea why these movies are all falling into the Texas Chainsaw syndrome.

RZ's Halloween 2 did it, and Friday remake did it. This just didn't seem like Jason to me and while I'm open minded enough to say ok this is this movie's version of Jason.....after 10 ridiculous films, I found alot of this stuff to just be a different character all together.

There was an interview with Hodder where he said initially, the 1st arguement he got in over Freddy Vs Jason was that Jason was supposed to kill a dog and he argued "Jason wouldn't kill an animal or a small child...he just wouldn't do it". From then it all went downhill and Ken Kirzinger came in...who Hodder refered to as a "skinny little bitch." Since then they've reconciled and I believe Kirzinger took some direction of Kane with the character.

The point I'm making is that the remake Jason just seemed like a run of the mill slasher out in western NJ. After 10 movies, regardless of how good or bad they were, ya gotta keep the head character true to form! And he wasn't!

That, and yes the girls were hot, but if I needed porn, I'd watch porn...I thought the acting was so terrible and annoying that I wanted to put a hockey mask on and take care of those kids myself.

My fave Jason scene is the opening of Part 6. It was my first Friday the 13th movie and I loved the whole "we're gonna destroy his dead body" and Jason is having none of that :)

I didnt see the remake until this past winter. Didnt want to watch it because I KNEW it would ruin the franchise for me, which I grew up on/with. IT DID! The remake was absolutely terrible, BUT, youve gotta look at it like there isnt a TRUE slasher genre anymore, like us 30+ had growing up. Slasher films ruled the 80's and into the 90's. Today its all Saw and crap like that. There isnt a cut-em-up style anymore, Jason was that, and simple as that.

The remake is more today. It had all the standard parts of a movie and I can see why it was/is popular with the younger crowd today. It would have been fine if it hadnt been Friday the 13th and Jason as the killer. Call it anything else and take the hockey mask off and its a fine horror movie....for us old curmudgeons.

Today, slasher films are out because they are too predictable. The main audience, the youth, are smarter and want the plot twists. Its why Saw has done so well. Its a smart movie and keeps you guessing. When we saw Friday the 13th we knew EVERYONE was going to die, but it was HOW they were going to die that we wanted to see. None of the movies were smart or clever, and if they tried to be it made them stupid.

You cant compare todays "reboot" with the 1980's slasher flicks. They arent the same and they shouldnt be the same. The new one got fans interested in the franchise and got people who hadnt been exposed to Jason into the franchise. Its not a bad thing, its just different. There are now more Friday fans because of the new movie.

My wife always tells me, "Everything cant stay the same just because you hate change." As much as I hate to admit it, she's right.

I rather enjoyed the remake but I do agree Jason kidnapping the girl was very un-Jason like. It's funny I've heard alot of complaints because Jason was "too smart" in the remake or because he ran, but Jason ran in the first 3 movies he was in and also contrary to popular belief, Jason isn't a retard. He's no rocket scientist but he's not stupid either. He know to cut power generators, he snuck into Rob's tent and borke his gun in TFC so it couldn't be used against him later, he punched the fire alarm in JTM, he normally stalks his victims and kills them one by one and sets his victims bodies up in areas he knows his other victims will find them to intimidate them, in part 2 he knew to get the cop to chase him to his little shack where he had the advantage and snuck up behind him for the kill etc. Not the signs of a stupid person.

I guess I'm in the majority who did enjoy the remake. I enjoyed stalker Jason.

To me, he was mentally damaged freak guy who had mommy issues which was why he kidnapped the girls. I totally loved his underground area with escape routes through the bus... gave more believability to "slow Jason is always there no matter how fast you run!" :)

Part 1 Lake Attack
and
Part 2 Where Jason os finally seen when the idiot girl goes into cabin to look for guy in wheelchair.....and Jason suddenly pops out of bed w butcher knife in hand and camera zooming in not only on his sack head but then on his hand with the blackened thumbnail, but seriously the dude was in a wheelchair HOW THE HELL WAS HE GONNA GO TO THE ROOM TO GET IT ON WITH THE CUTE BRUNETTE IF THERE WAS NO RAMP!!!

My favorite Jason moment was when he killed the girl with her guitar in Jason Takes Manhattan. I love anime, and the girl playing the character in that scene is the actress who played Goku/Gohan in Dragon Ball/DBZ and Noin in Gundam Wing.

The mom in Friday 7 was Arcee in Transformers G1. I didn't know that until recently...
