Free Comic Book Day!

As many of you may or may not know, today was that special time of year when major publishers throw us a freebie and put out a few titles for the lovely price of $0.00. So who took part, what'd you get, and how do you feel?

This is the first time in years i haven't been able to make it.What came out?

Didn't make it. Not to bad since the only one I was interested in was the Spidey title, and my LCS always has extras.

I went and got some free comics. I went to both of the Memphis area comic stores and picked up some stuff. The stuff I got for myself was the black and white lantern rings that were left over, a Hal Jordan Heroclix or whatever it's called and the GL/flashpoint comic. As for the rest of what I got it was pretty much for my kids. They picked it out, they got it and they went home reading it. Well, the 6 year old did, my 2 year old just pointed out Superman and looked at the pages naming who she knew.

Having said that I did buy something in both shops. I know a lot of people just went in and got the free stuff but I kind of have a rule that if I go into a comic store for ANY reason I do buy something, even if it doesn't cost much. Any little bit helps and they need all the support they can get.

that's the only place that was doing it that I didn't go to. I'm not a big fan of it there.

I picked up a whole bunch of comics from the library today. And this was for free comic book day.

No Joe book and no TF book for FCD, so I had no need to go...sure there was a sale on supplies but I'm pretty good so why pad things, besides its always crazy on FCD.

I missed last year and this year I almost forgot until I was online looking at news in the morning and I managed to make it before opening. I went to two comic stores and got myself two Captain America + Thor, Young Justice + Batman, two Green Lantern SE Flashpoint, The Amazing Spider-Man, Sonic, and Archie Pep Comics.

ARGH, I came back and realized I forgot to get the GL HeroClix figure!

The Spidey title while not very good did move the plot along of the main title. So if you are a Spidey nut, it might be worth locating.
