However I say Asia Argento. She's not a house hold name, but she could be sinister, she's Euro, she looks good in black. Her dad is Horror/thriller director Dario Argento

I never liked sienna miller as the baroness, I didn't think she was that great looking. Although seeing her in the set shots made me a little more comfortable with her. Although I would have loved to see someone else like Kate Beckinsale (grrr) or someone similar.
Zeta jones is a bit too old, but very stunning, and Jolie? hell no, I am tired of seeing her in comic movies.

Asia Argento is hot, but her good looks are quirky (in a good way!) so I'm not sure she'd be right. Her accent is very thick too.

Personally, I think Karen Cliche ('Baylin' from Flash Gordon) would have been a great Baroness, but then I have a huge crush on her so am a bit biased.

Umm...The baroness has quirky good looks(for a fictional character), and a very thick accent as well.

I've never considered the Baroness Italian though.
And I've never considered the Baroness to be 'quirky' either in the comic or cartoon.
Although it's true that the character has no precedent in 'real life' and can look like anybody (I've said so myself in the past). I just tend to think that Asia Argento ihas very 'uniquely latin' looks.

Sienna Miller looks just fine as the Baroness(except during her blonde phase in the movie). I just hope she acts and sounds like the Baroness.I think the acting is gonna to be OK (all she has to do is act like a sexy terrorist bitch with some back-stabbing tendencies).Her accent is still up in the air though as no one has heard it.Hopefully it'll be eastern european...if it's american or british I'll be disappointed once again with this movie.

The only issues I have with their casting is Marlon Wayans as Ripcord and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as COBRA Commander.

It doesn't bother me they cast a Black actor as Ripcord, but Marlon Wayans? I've seen "Requiem For A Dream" and I don't have a problem with Mr. Wayans' ability as an actor. I just think he was wrong for that part. And Joseph Gordon-Levitt is too young. Of course, that may be worked out in the script (I don't know that much about it) and if it is an origin story like I've heard, well, maybe...I'll reserve judgment 'til I see it.

I would have preferred a French actress in the role who could speak fluent French in some scenes (isn't the Baroness supposed to be French?) but I owe that to my own Joe-Verse where the COBRAs are very multi-lingual (like COBRA Commander and Storm Shadow talk to each other in Japanese because CC can speak many different languages perfectly). Still, I imagine Sienna Miller will be more than satisfactory.

Sienna Miller will be fine in the role. At least she has some experience. If they wanted to save money, they could've used some hottie dark haired Czech actress [like that evil girl from the first Hostel movie]; it's not like they have a shortage of famous faces to sell the movie.

I'm not throwing stones, just debating your argument. who would I have picked? I don't have any idea, because I am not privy enough to have access to the thousands of females who could have auditioned -- many of which would have been perfect for the role as well. but I certainly wouldn't reduce my choice to simply someone who I have seen that reminded me of only my idea of the character -- not the character in the actual movie script, which Monica Belucci certainly would have been terrible as.
