Here is a little custom I did today. It was quite easy really, if you want to try it. Just get a black patch and iron it on some red cloth...presto, you have a cape (with a little cutting into shape, of course). Next, take two pins and shove them into the Commander's body to hold the cape in place This is not easy...I had to use a lighter to heat the pins so they would go in easily. They look like the buttons on the animation model, although those were actually shaped like cobra emblems. Finally, get a narrow gold plated strip of metal and super glue a green bead onto the top to make his scepter.

Thanks guys. As a kid, I just used Mindbender's cape. I like this much more though, and the scepter is a nice extra that I didn't have back then.

That looks great! I love making figs look like they did in the movie. Ironing the cloth really makes a difference. Clean and sharp.

Thought about that, but the one I used (Mass Device) has the chest logo in the right place. The cape is a piece of red cloth with a black patch ironed on, giving it the two color look required.
