You've been getting lucky there, Commtech. I work in Burbank and have hit the TRU and Targets there quite a few times and never saw any. What times are you going?

I go at opening for both stores. That's the only way to find stuff. There's a bunch of guys which you've probably heard about who buy to resell: Hootie, Headphones, Dirty Sanchez, Plumber Bob, Chubby13 (the owner of the collectibles shop in Burbank Mall), those are all the nicknames they go by and assigned to them by Burbank Collectors. Not all of them are there all the time, but you gotta be there at opening, otherwise these guys take EVERYTHING.

Lol, seems like Burbank and Santa Clarita both suck for finding stuff new. But I actually think it's because my shift right now prevents me from even getting to a store until 1:45, 2 in the afternoon at the earliest. I will be on swing by July which will allow me to hit stores in the morning and late at night on the way home. The Target in Canyon Country is opening up in about a month (hoping that store is a hundred times better than the one in Valencia).

I agree, but ANY store at ANY location sucks 5 minutes after opening. 90% of the time there's always someone waiting outside, either collectors, scalpers or both.
It's very improbable to walk in the middle of the day and find the good stuff.

Wow, $32 for the three figures? When I found mine someone had taken the time to bend j peg part of the card pretty bad. It's didn't stop me though. I wonder if the store employees do this in the hopes collectors will pass on them. I just don't understand why a collector would take the time to bend the cards and leave them. They would be better off hiding the figures in some random spot if they wanted to come back for them later.

I only saw the armored Cobra Commander once and I picked up the two they had. I am shocked to see how much the wave 4 snake Eyes is now getting on Ebay.

Pretty much bought them for $9.99 plus the shipping $5.00 shipping... But I was at Fresno, checking and it's the same situation here... only the comic packs and a Buzzer. As much as some would say "save money on gas", I guess so... Just don't like paying $32 for three figures. But it seems that finding them lately is proving to be too difficult.

But it's weird how people are reporting seeing the wave 7 so many times in Southern California.

Checked the Super Wal Mart in Santa Clarita last night at midnight. I got the same dumbfounded look by the same employee that I always get when I asked if they had any Joes..........."Uh.....um, whatever is out on the pegs is all I have". This answer would be fine with me except for the fact that I got the same answer from that kid another time and ended up finding two cases of Joes on the pallet myself about a minute later. Anyways, no shipment of Joes at that Wal-Mart.

Aside from the cheesy "As seen on the cartoon" logo, I really like the white over the silver. The art seems a lot brighter and jumps out more because of it.

What up Northern Tankers I'm new here and I wanna try to help us all score on this cool ass G.I. Joe stuff. This is the first time collecting Joes since I was a kid in the mid eighties. But when I saw my first Cobra trooper since 84 at a Target last year in Nov, and then when I noticed that they were all about the O.G. cartoons I was hooked again. Now 6 months later I have every single damn thing except wave 8 and wave 4 comics. Funny thing is it was only supose to be just a few (yeah right). I'm almost positive Hasbro sprinkles a lil Crack on the figs just before they card them. I'm out by the Folsom area, No wave 8 or wave 4 comic packs. I Checked walmarts, Targets, And TRU's found 2 lonely Vipers by straight up luck at a Target in citrus hights stashed in the fish and tackle isle and bent. It's cool that they were bent cause they are for building, So both Vipers came home after a two hr search in the heat. I also spotted an AWE Striker at the Target in Rancho Cordova off of Zinfindale which I left for someone else to find. It looked in pretty good condition the windows were clear and dent free and I'm picky. I'll try to keep everyone posted on the folsom citrus hights el dorado hills area. If any takers out there I have a complete unopened case of the Target exclusive vehicles I would trade off for the new wave 8 figs and wave 4 comic with coperhead, make me an offer anyone whose around me so we can save $$ on the shipping.

Target Van Nuys on Sepulveda had a lot of Wave 7 figures on the pegs. A couple guys who I assume were scalpers based on their relative ignorance of Joes in general and their convo ("Yeah, they're already re-releasing last years figures...I really hope they don't make any more Snake Eyes with the black wolverine (their words).") were picking though them, though.

However, while they were busying themselves with that, a helpful employee brought me two cases of Wave 8 from the back. Also saw one odd Wave 7 case with masked CC, Zartan, and Firefly mixed in. Snagged the Firefly.

I thought about standing in line behind them at the checkout, but decided against it. :P

(The Wave 8 cases I have have a Viper, not two Python Officers, though that seems to be the norm.)

I went to the super-con in downtown san jose over the weekend. More like super-yawn. 85 degrees INSIDE, a 12 oz water cost $3.00 and very small. $15 to get in for 1 day seemed a bit high. The toy show that comes around to the fair grounds every 6 months is $5 and has 4 times the number of tables and half of the same guests as super-con. The original cast of mst3k was there with the bots, that was very awesome. Mike Golden signed Nam #1 (which I found for 50cents across the room) and Daniel Logan gave me a dirty look. I read somewhere here in the tank that he trains dailey with Ray Park when they aren't busy. Well if thats true he must be going for a "fat master" belt. Ok, so overall it was a good time but that damn heat really gets to you.

And the joes. There was just a few dealers with a moderate amount. One was trying to sell wave 1 sets at $50 (flint alone was $25) and all the single figs were going for the $10-$15 range. I saw no variants at all. No vehicles of any kind.

I went to 3 targets and 1 tru last week and only found 2 buzzers. 1 target is hanging those other army figures(forces of valor?) on the joe pegs now. I got off work early today and stopped by the Target in Burbank (by work) and Valencia (near home). The Burbank Target had all of wave 7 (2 full sets were there and remnants of 2 other sets worth minus Spirit, Duke and Wild Bill). I bought 1 HISS Driver and 2 Vipers for some customs. Valencia Target had some wave 8. I only wanted 2 TF Flints, a PP Officer, 2 Major Bludds and a Roadblock. I saw a guy grab another Bludd right before I walked up, though so I only nabbed one. They had 2 more PP Officers, a Roadblock and at least 4 or 5 Cobra Commanders. No Baroness or Snake Eyes present (I didn't want those figures anyways). Funny thing is, I didn't even realize the wave 4 comic packs were out so I didn't even really look at the comic packs.....I might have accidentally passed up on them! Oh well!

BTW, I also stopped by the Wal-Mart on Newhall Ranch on the way home. An f$#ing swapper had put a wave 4 Roadblock in a new wave 8 Roadblock's package and a wave 2 Cobra into a wave 8 PP Officer's package. I had already got the figures I wanted at Target (except I still wanted an extra Bludd) but damn this pissed me off to no end. I see this all of the time up in the Santa Clarita retail stores. It's got to be the same unscrupulous douche bag that's perpetrating the crime.

So I was at the Walmart in porter Ranch and I was hosed. :( they had remnants of Wave 8, i.e. Masse Device' Cobra Commander x2 and one narled baroness, I couldn't care less for either, I only wanted one Bludd for a friend, my Bludds on Pre-order at BBTS in the Wave 9 revision, I'd rather have. I don't need more than four BATs. Good Find though Brett, Valencia is usually hit or miss especially on a Mond-izzle. Later.

Transformers: Premium Megatron and Stockade. No Stealth BB.

They also had some new Star Wars fan choice figures there. No Iron Man stuff besides the small PVC and costume set.

Murrieta= Wallmart had a few Wave 7

Murrieta= Toys R US had no singles but it did have the 5 pack ninjas vs snack eyes and the night force soldiers and officer

Temecula= Target had Wave 8 figures a ton of them, I got as many as i could for myself, also had wave 4 comic packs.

Temecula= Sears had some older ones, Serpentor, Buzzer, Stalker, and a Cobra Officer

I hope this helps anyone looking for some figures.

I was at the Alhambra Target today and there was not a lick of Joe's but I noticed the Star Wars comic packs which some clown had put the comic over the I'm assuming missing figures. I'm stupified about the fact store employees are that dense and didn't realize this. I was reading posts on this thread and was like, "It doesn't happen that much in southern Cali" . if you happen to check your local Target at Wallys... see if you can get a feel on when they restock or put some on stock. normally they have date and time for those. especially at Target, i notice that some stores do put up some stocks or whatnot at times that people (and scalpers) don't usually expect. like don't expect them to put it before store opening. some would like put it on the pegs around 6pm. yeah that's how i get most of them.

Just got back from the Torrance Target (near Del Amo Mall on Sepulveda) just before they closed. They had

1 Hiss Tank Driver ( I picked it up)
4 Vipers (I picked up 2, but forgot I already had 2 so see below)
2 Spirit
2 Snake Eyes
2 Wild Bill
2 Duke w/jet pack
4 Cobra Commander Helmet (doesn't have silver stripe)
1 CC w/Mass (I picked it up)
1 Viper (cartoon series card)

That was what was on the shelf (maybe some hidden?). The guy said they have an inventory of 50 in the back room... I'll be there first thing Sat morning. Introduce yourself if you see me. I'll be the asian guy, probably wearing a rotten tomatoes shirt.

He also said there was small inventory at culver city (though I rarely see stuff there, I think the employees stash them), inglewood and carson. Manhattan Beach was the second largest with 20 in stock. This is the one at Sepulveda & Manhattan Beach Blvd.

Right now I have 2 vipers for trade + a bunch of fred crimson guard/cobra trooper opened packs.... I'm looking for any of the stuff below...

Found the TRU three-packs at the Pleasant Hill TRU also.

Was nothing in Rohnert Park's Target or Wal-Mart. Not sure if I want to go to Napa or Fairfield/Vacaville to check for more stuff.

Only thing I'm still looking for now is Major Bludd. :)

I picked up the firefly/stormshadow comic pack at the wal-mart in chula vista (the one off the 54) and also grabbed 2 more wave 7 vipers (they had tons of vipers, and a 2 firefly/stormshadow packs left). Then I went to the wal-mart off of palm ave in south bay san diego and found the shipwreck/copperhead and duke/red star. They had about 4 shipwreck/comic packs as of 2pm today but I nabbed the only duke/red star. They also had a couple firefly/stormshadows.

I am glad to hear V1 Snake eyes is still shipping. That is the one figure I don't have loose or carded. I have seen wave 7 complete in stores just once. I am surprised that I have seen remnants of this wave three other times. I always see left over Snake Eyes and a pair of Vipers. I can't see how Duke goes over the Vipers.

I know this is neither here nor there but too often I go into Target, Wal, or TRU and the toy mngr says some character was just here and bought up all our stock. I know some of you are pro capitalism and freedom of enterprise but come on. I'm not a scalper, but it seems to me members of this board and other boards are jumping on a band wagon to make a quick easy buck. Stores really need to start limiting quantities and say no to this sort of thing. Hey So Cal dudes if your trying to ofset gas prices buy doing this you're only adding to the problem. If the general collecting consensus had any sense they would not patronize you. I can understand two of each maybe even three if you army build but buying up twelve cases, thats just plain dirty. I for one would rather go completely without then give one dime to a scalper.

Walnut Creek Target had all the new comic packs (Firefly/SS, Copperhead/Shipwreck, Duke/Red Star). Pleasant Hill Target had ~10 Wave 7 Vipers, 1 Wave 7 Duke. There is two walmarts two targets and a tru near them so rest assured they send their goons to go get on that at 7am, 8am, and 10 am respectively. Also they shadely go to the SDCC and try obtaining many of the exclusives to quadruple the price. I don't recommend them. Also not to constantly promote them but BBTS will buy stuff MOC from you if you have anything worth selling, and I do mean almost anything. if you opt for Store credit, it ofsetts the price by alot. They are not usually this slow, they are almost always a good company to do businesss with. I give them a 97 out of 100. For price, order accuracy, speed of service, speed of contact, selection and quality. The rare one time problem I had with them their was a piece slightly banged up, but guess what, they refunded the purchase price (it was a case of sw figs) so it was estimated at 7.50, . . . and they let me keep the figure too. BTW no I do not work for them, I'm just a very satisfied customer. But to continue Socal thread nothing in west valley yet, fools keep cleaning out the stock. AARgh!!

Oh, I love BBTS, I have bought from them a few times and so far no problems, but the anxious kid in me wants stuff right away, and they seem to get their stuff last sometimes.

I bought from toywiz twice, but unless you get your order in right away, there prices are pretty ridiculous.
I also had a problem with a snake eyes w/timber, it was sort of crushed and asked for a replacement and they wanted a restocking fee added, and I kept saying I just wanted a replacement, but never got good communication from them, so I kept it and bought another somewhere else and sold the damaged one. Hey, I just got back from Wal-mart on Ingram and they had wave 8. I bought one of each except the Cobra Commander. I left a Pyhton trooper, CC, also wave 7 vipers x2, and Duke x2.

Before going to Wal-mart I hit up Target on Blackstone and was shocked to see four pegs full of Gi Joe figures. I thought for sure I hit the mother load. The problem was they were the same four figures! It was Buzzer, Serpentor, Cobra trooper, and officer. I counted 37 figures! Is this the re-mix wave of peg warmers lol

I hit everything south of Aero Drive. I only seen SGT. Flash once. The TRU off Plaza & Highland has a lot of older stuff a ton of scarlets, w1 RB, and air troopers, 24hr Walmart in Grossmont has a ton of dual packs. I been finding a lot of my stuff between two targets. one on convoy very small target and the other off college. The Target at Mission valley had 20 of the new SE and 3 Jet pack Dukes. I hunt a bit and a few others down here we work together on siteing and keep a update will let you know more.

I go out of town on business this weekend to Long Beach will be all over there hunting when I get out. I picked up my Yellow Stalker up there.

Wow, really only one lonley CG?? I live in San Diego and passed up tons of CGs after I hit my quota (I managed to find over 50 of them MOSC in San Diego county alone from Dec.-May). If I see more Ill snag them for you guys, but the CG is coming soon in a revision case so you shouldnt have problems finding them.

Also managed to get over 50 Red Ninjas, Vipers, and Troopers (with Silver symbol).

Come to think of it, I havent had issues finding anything (but I hunt more than 4-5 times a week, early in the morning).

If anybody wants the Silver symbol Troopers let me know, think I have 30 left. Will sell them at cost.

As for the $1.46 I'm guessing right time right place. They were marked down for clearance for some reason when they were first released. All the cards were in good condition (no obvious bends) but they do have a $1.46 clearance tag on the card

Found two sets of Wave 4 comic packs at Valencia target. BTW the Soledad walmart now has 1 python patrol 1 viper and 1 road block, the rest I bought ,although the baroness' bubble was a bit bent. Walmart on Old road clearly had many wave 8's there were ten road blocks and that was it, the TRU next to it had three cc mass device and 1 python patrol trooper, I passed. I finally broke down and bought this wave. I still need a major bludd but I have him on order in a revision case of wave 9. Just need it for a buddy.

I bought the comic pack because I missed out on the pre orders and want 2 sets of each, and don't want to pay so much extra for pre ordering.

I passed on the 2 wave 8's since I have those on preorder, and would rather get them all at once.

I went to three different Wal-Marts on the way in to work today looking for Wave 4 Comic Packs. Apparently that's like looking for the Ark of the Covenant these days because all any of them had were pegs full-to-bursting with comic packs Waves 1-3. I did spot a couple Wave 8 Dukes, but I don't think anyone's looking for that one.

In the end I had to cheer myself with finding a Commander Gree and Kashyyyk Trooper. Paying $15 for two figures didn't make me all that cheery.
