It sounds like you are pretty hardcore. I wish I had your dedication... that's living the dream of every kid who grew up with GI Joe in the eighties.You could only imagine how much this means to me. Feels like the 80's all over again.
I remember seeing in catalogs of GI Joe advertisement elaborate scenes with vehicles, massive cobra armies and thinking damn if only my parents would let me stock up.

there seems like there are plenty out there or coming, no reason to pay extra +shipping, just give it some time, they only started to really hit a week or so ago.

Even if they sell out, eventually the prices will drop.
I never pay over retail and sometimes get them cheaper through BBTS (just cover shipping) I have done it before and end up kicking myself when I see it in stores, or the price drops.

I bought them at cost plus shipping. To me it's a pretty good deal considering the gas I've already burnned without finding any planes.

These things sell out at opening. I don't have the luxury to go get these at opening most of the time since I work mornings. It sucks seeing them listed as available and not being able to do anything about it. The one time I did see them some dude beat me to them.

I hope they hit saturation soon.

ok, even if you cast it in steel, it shouldn't cost that much to make the mold, sure if you add up ALL the materials that go into it at the end of the day, but look at what they can get out of it, happier customers, possibly more repeat buyers of the same item.

But they are just talking about making the mold, not the hundreds of thousands of pieces that it makes, what is it solid gold or platinum?, what material can actually cost $40-$60K (that is what I consider a nice car)

I think many companies try and cut as many corners as possible to cut costs, which isn't unreasonable, if money wasn't an issue, I bet we would see new molds on every figure/vehicle Hasbro has put out.

I opted to not get them for the TRU exclusive Disturbance at Lars Homstead...which is probably one of the last Star Wars toys I'll get for a long time.

Since we were on the subject of molds/pricing. I never understood how small companies bbi, 21st century, the people that make the true heroes stuff can offer the size objects for the price they do. Take the true heroes stuff. The quality of the vehicles I would say was on par with the Gi joe stuff (the figures and weapons suck) I bought the helicopter it came with an armadillo sized jeep, enough space to park it in the cargo bay, a cargo net, with "chains" to hook to the bottom of copter. for 20.00. using the same dimensions/plastic amount I think hasbro's would be twice that and not that much better.(some of the scale isn't quite accurate though)

I'm sure if Hasbro and bbi brought the same model to be made into a mold Hasbro would get a better price because they would also be getting 100 other molds made where bbi would only have a few.

unless Hasbro is issuing more stocks, which I doubt (they would only do so if they have a need to raise capital), those investors are buying stocks from third parties, so Hasbro doesn't get that money. but Hasbro does have to pay out to those investors if they pay dividends, which you haven't accounted for.

large write off would come from large expenses (never dollar for dollar), so that is still at a loss. and with SOX, big corporations can't write things off more easily because they are studied under a microscope, unlike small businesses, which aren't.

yes, Hasbro makes much more, and they spend more, and their profit margin has to be higher to keep those stock prices high and those investors you speak of happy.

These things are turning out to be pretty easy to run across.

The employee at the checkout counter was a nice guy who said that they are flying off the shelves and that they're receiving tons of calls about whether that particular store has them in stock. Nevertheless, I've only been looking for a few days now and don't consider myself very lucky when it comes to seeing hard-to-find items so I'm hoping these should end up being pretty simple to find once the initial hype dies down.

yes indeedy top. I picked up the whole set of Tekno man (still trying to hunt down the 3 sets of the japanese versions as best buy no longer carries them) at best buy for under 15 bucks. It freaked me out cause the japaense series is 49 epsidoes long but the us one is 43 so i thought the left out some episodes but they combined a few spisodes to make them long so the us series is complete but the japanese ones have the OVAS that bridge the gap between tekkaman blade and tekkaman blade 2 new blade.

SJ TRUs have the CG and Greenshirt 5-packs.
The Winchester TRU had ONE of each, I only got the Greenshirt pack, due to some asshole re-packing the CG pack. SERIOUSLY? It's been out in the South Bay for like a week, and some dick's already repacked it?

Looks like they took the SRO set, kept the SRO CG trooper and officer, and took a trooper and officer out of the 5-pack, and put in a Fred and a SRO Cobra Commander (red one). So basically some douche got 1 of each style of CG for $15, and they returned the 5-pack.

While checking to see if they had any more CG 5-packs, I dropped the repack back by customer service, but who knows if they'll actually put it back on the shelf or not. Some kid probably wouldn't know the difference, but a collector at first glance may not even know what they're picking up. It took me a double-take to realize it, I was just making sure the box was okay.

So it seems that these Rattlers are becoming shelf-warmers. Which is good! I have yet to get one despite them being in my area of San Diego, I think. I don't get my first paycheck from my new job until next friday and I am hoping by then they'll be in full supply; the same with other future vehicles and figures. I really want this jet and I have contemplated getting a Target Credit Card just for it. However, I have enough debt as it is and I don't need another credit card. The wait is surely killing me though. I just keep telling myself "Good things come to those who wait..." over and over again.

I really hope that Hasbro is finally flooding the shelves with these 25th Joe toys. Heck, I found two sets of Rams/Trouble Bubbles at the Mira Mesa Target this morning. Maybe this is a good sign since those were so hard to find a month ago.

I had to check just in case (Since our local Target and Wal-Mart, the employees and managers are also hard core toy collectors). But as expected, pegs were full. Looks like they received more wave 9's and pegs are just too full to get any wave 10's.

So, no wave 10's at my WM...did end up picking up the latest DVD volume of "Dragon Ball Z" though... and did see them move the $7.77 Transformers Animated near the entrance of the store as opposed to near the toy aisle. At the Toy Aisle were many boxes of the Transformers Bumblebee collections (Classic, movie and animated) for $28.99.

Yeah, I only picked up 2 CPs, 1 for Breaker (haven't opened one yet, but $8 is the price of single figs, so I finally got Breaker, I like his little bubble gum gimmick, heh) and 1 for Copperhead to use as a Slaughter custom that G.I. Eddies is going to paint for me.

I don't care about the Doc points anymore, and wasn't too particular with the Breaker set, but when I went to open it, I realized it had been retaped, and I thought "S.O.B! Doc point thief..."

Not only did the douche take the Doc card and point, he took the entire polybag with the file cards too. I'm a little pissed about that, that's really the only thing I wanted that was taken (Breaker's file card)... That, and Destro's pistol, which the assrag stole too. I couldn't tell it, it was under the cardboard. I think I would have caught that otherwise...

This is twice in one day I have encounted repacks/tampered with boxes at decent stores... i.e. not really that sketchy, or so I thought. The first one I caught in the aisle, this one actually duped me. I'm not out anything other than Breakers' file card, which isn't a big deal, but I wanted Destro's pistol to give to some of the DVD pack guys who were missing them. The Destro I'm going to give away to a guy at work, I hate it that bad.

At least it was $8, I mean, that's what a single-pack figure would cost, I really want the file card though.

Double-check the taped edges carefully on any comic packs and boxed sets you get, I used to check the edges for dings/tears, now I'm going to meticulously check the taped edges too. What sort of asshole steals from a $5/$10 toy?

If you do come to the Valley though you could make a day out of it cause there's like twelve targets and three Wallys, but ones in P City and just as Ghetto if not more so, than the one down there. And yeah I live in the valley and porter ranch is too far for me, its also heavily hit by scalpers so I don't bother with it.

I hit up a couple of Targets this morning. The Rattlers & Conquest are very easy to find now. Wave 1 vehicles as I mentioned before are saturating the shelves, hope this doesn't effect when Wave 2 vehicles hit the market.

While we're all starting to see more of the figs now, I think the good news is that as we start to approach the holiday season, stores will continue to put out more (new) product more often.

I understand the concerns because I have no doubt that the glut of Wave 1 & 2 products overflowing the pegs is what helped kill the Indiana Jones line. Well, that and the fact that children have no direct connection to the franchise the way we do.

On the other hand, if those DVD packs continue to sit and collect dust, I might be able to get the Revenge of Cobra on clearance. :D

I think that out of all the vehicles we've had so far, with the exception of the AWE Striker which was just awesome, the VAMP is the only vehicle I have not been disappointed in at all in some way.

I stopped into a Valley Target this morning on my way to work and found 2 more revision cases of basic figures - the same ones I had been finding at WM over the weekend. Crimson Guard, Spirit, etc...This just makes me wonder if that w10 "sighting" was actually found at retail or not.

Well there were three different cases slated for Sept release.

When I heard about this revision, I didn't realize they were on the new cards... schnike! I gotta get out there and pick some up!

I found two VAMPS but both places both boxes were less than stellar so I left them.

TRU on La Cienga had TONS of the revision figures. TONS of IG destros, commando snakeyes, and CG among others....pegs were FULL.

did a little recon at the TRU here in Clovis....full pegs with BBQs,some Python Officers,Bazookas,IG Destros,Spirits,and the like....alot of Senior Ranking Officers(joe and cobra)wave 1....and few vehicles......hoefully they will clear soon and we can get some new ones..

Look on the bright side--this is the first time we've consistently seen full pegs of Joes. Let's hope it extends beyond Wave 8.

FYI, you can order the DTC Lt. Falcon, Night Viper, etc. and the rest of that cancelled wave from the GI Joe Collector website. I still prefer the style of those DTC figs to the too tall/lanky design of the 25th Anniversary line.

I signed up a few months ago but have not been back since.

But I found something today that I thought was very interesting to share, an LA target had posted a sign stating that GI two packs were sold out and in lieu of this they are offering single packs for $6.40. That's a deal, only if they had wave ten before they remove this promo (9/27). I will post pictures as soon as I get a moment.

Also found G.I. JOE FIREBAT & SHARC with Deep Six at KMART, did not pick them up because they were slashed on the side with a razor, due to opening of box. :(

Pleasant Hill TRU has 3 each of the Crimson Guard and Greenshirts 5 packs. Right next door, the Pleasant Hill Target has 2 of each of the Rattler and 2 of the X30.

This is as of about 15 min ago. Go get 'em if ya want 'em!

It's getting to the point that we need some sort of code on here... Haha. I went to the TRU the other night for the BATs, and someone got them. Left the rest of Wave 9 there. I hope it was a Tanker, not some eDouche running off to eBay them back to us.

Wave 10 is IN Cali, mostly SoCal. Anyone found them anywhere yet? I'm not going to run out yet, I've found it's futile and stresses me out too much. But it's nice to gauge when they do hit so I can start looking in a few weeks.

Same with the TRU 3-packs, and the Wave 3 vehicles (the new ones with the Firebat/S.H.A.R.C., if I'm a Wave off in nominal "wave" lingo).

Went to two targets in manhattan beach/torrance....nothing, same with the ToyRUs.

Went into the Big K against my better judgement...place makes me feel dirty. Found one of the original Joe 5 packs, you know the foil box with the flip cover. It was mis marked for 10.99. Of course they caught it at the register. I was really too tired to argue with them since it was their store they mispriced the item. Plus its not like it was some amazing find.

Bottom line...aint shit out now, unless you are lucky enough to find the vehicles.

And every VAMP I find has a beat to shit box :(

No Wave 10 here... it should hit AZ one day before it hits here... at least that's usually how it works.

I've been checking one walmart every morning this week (clairemont) but they haven't put anything new out. Which makes me suspicious, because they didn't put out the recent filler wave either (SE, IG Destro, Spirit, CG on comic cards)

Part of me says they're hoarding cases so that they can quickly restock the shelves once the X-mas shopping season starts...

the revision case showed up at pretty much every other walmart in the area in SD. And Targets, of course.

I have another theory, it's the "good church boy" theory, that some walmarts (particularly in East county, traditionally social/political conservative areas) only stock new figs on Sunday mornings, so that the good church boys can get a reward after their Sunday morning sermon. Like I said, it's just a theory : )

No Wave 10 and no new vehicles. I have seen the new CW Commander Cody at least a couple of times. I picked one up for myself two weeks ago. I've been looking all over for Oddball, but with no luck.

I did find a sharc & firebat yesterday but damaged. went back today in the am and picked up the sharc for a fellow Tanker. Firebat was gone....they are coming.

Walmart had new shipment of vehicles today, but sharc & firebat were gone by the time I arrived. The toy manager told me someone picked up three of each!! I don't open them, so I need a find one in good condition.
