I'm checking Wal-Mart and K-Mart more since figures are still $5.99 at KM. Funny thing is I went to Rite-Aid (which I rarely go to) and saw a GI Joe Sigma 6 Gung-Ho there...but looking at regular figure prices that were $7.99 now $14.99. Killer increase...

As for KM and they sold out of the Duke/Jet Pack wave but instead of getting more smaller figures they got a ton of the large figures (Flint, Dusty, Cobra Trooper, etc.).

Sometimes I find myself saying that I should buy them at Target...since I was paying a lot on eBay to begin with but just prioritizing as business-wise, economy here in our area is just bad and its affecting my business big time. Not as much disposable income this year :(

Saturday I hit the Target and TRU in Pleasant Hill:

Grabbed Wave 5 Comic Packs (sans Falcon/NE and Variant Destro) and non-Army builders of Wave 9 from Target. From TRU I finally saw Wave 4 in a store and picked up those for some folks, along with one of Entertainment Pack 1 and three of Entertainment Pack 2.

Didn't go anywhere else yet. I'll be checking Walnut Creek Target tomorrow as I have some figures I bought at 6.99 to return with the 7.99 price tag. (Yes yes, I know I'm a dick, but every dollar counts!)

Still waiting on Cornerstore Comics to ship my Wave 9 Pre-order. I called them today and they still don't know when they're coming. The owner said that if I wanted to cancel and buy them at the stores, they'd give my money back, but getting the whole wave without dealing with the stores is the entire reason I used them. Especially when I've NEVER seen a Bat or Snow Serpent in the wild, ever.

Stopped in at Duarte Target and found nothing I needed (a Vamp and Armadillo/Chariott set were there) but hit SW paydirt at Wal-mart. Yes, the crapiest, most collector overrun Wal-mart in the area actually had the new exclusive 501st Clonetroopers on the pegs, and I didn't even have to wrestle anyone for them. One guy did try to point out that the Scuba Troopers were going for big $$$s at Frank & Son, but I'm not interested in the Legacy Collection.

Entertainment earth came through with my revision case that had 2 BATS and 2 snow serpents in it. I would recommend them for sure. They currently have 10 and 11 up for order and at $55 a case its hard to beat. Have to consider gas now a days into your hunting.
On sunday i was driving around with my wife and we stopped at walmart and 2 targets in napa, walmart in american canyon, target in vallejo, TRU/target/kmart in pinole, walmart in richmond, Tru/target in pleasant hill, and another TRU and target on the way home and found only a few remnants of series 9 singles and 5 of comic packs. first time i ever done that.

Yeah, I was disappointed when my order for wave 8-set of 8 was recently cancelled by BBTS due to Hasbro not being able to fufull a percentage of their order. I wanted Major Blood bad since I can never find him at retail. Luckily, Cornerstore Comics came through and I still have an order of wave 9-revision 1 with BBTS, which also has a Major Blood. Hopefully, THAT one doesn't get cancelled. lol.

But I usually preorder with online retailers like BBTS first. Then once I see them at retail and can complete my wave, then I emmediately cancel my order with said online retailer.

I think he said they were selling for $14 at F&S. I don't know if that's BIG, but double the price isn't bad. The fact is that I've seen Scuba Troopers and all the rest of the new wave EVERYWHERE. None of the new figures seem too hard to get. It's just the Exclusive Fox, or (possibly) the new 501st that I don't see all that much.

Agree with the patience. I just hit up the Targets and TRU and they way home from work every other day and eventually find what I need.

Helps to have friends who keep an eye out for ya, too. Most of my pals aren't into the GIJoes (they like everything else, i.e. StarWars, Transformers, Cars die cast, Halo figures, etc.) which is a big plus for me. If they see I Joe I need while they're digging through WWE figures they'll grab it for me.

I've purchased a few figures from the nice peoples here on hisstank.com, too. Got my Iron Grendiers Destro from Ebay for like $12 or somethin', only to see him at every store I walked into a week after. Never buyin' another Joe from Ebay again!

I don't really understand the huge markups at conventions, I was looking for the dvd packs at SDCC and saw all the other joe items at ridiculous prices. $15-20 for comic 2-packs that flood most stores I go to, and I only saw a SNow Serpent for $11, everywhere else was around $15+ luckily I found the whole wave the morning of the preview night I was looking for another BAT but not at $15!

Oh and only 2 people had the dvd packs and they were $40 a piece!
I also found both the weekend after the con!

The "old" portion of the SDCC has all the comic/art/toy vendors. There were a ton of vendors with jacked up prices. The same vendors paid people to "use their badge" to buy multiple exclusives from Mattel and Hasbro. That's the reason you see guys walking around with cases of stuff from the various booths.

The toy store booths were selling con exclusives and other items. I noticed the same thing, pretty huge mark ups on single joes and pretty much double for anything that was a con exclusive. The booths were located on the far end of the convention opposite the other end where Artist Alley and the Video Games were. I believe it was the 001 - 500 rows.

Not to defend the over priced vendors but do you know how much it cost to get a booth there? MY friend was looking to get a booth (non-toy vendor) The price for a single table was around $1,700.00. Hotel for 5-6 nights around $500.00 shipping their product in/back $2,000. flight/transportation to con $500.00 paying (possible multiple employees) for 12 hr days fro 5 days around $400.00 per person.(more than likely footing bill for their hotel room too) meals, cost of initial product. It probably cost over $5,000 to even have a booth there. So I can see why prices on them are inflateted at the con they have to make money or atleast brake even. (I'm sure some of it they can recover as claiming a loss on taxes)

I went to walmart 25 min away where I was staying and picked up multiple wave 9 figures, saw the vehicles and many other non Joe figures that I saw at crazy prices.

Paying the bills is fine, but you are there to sell not take back all the stuff you took there.


Maybe they keep prices high in case anyone wants to barter?

I hit up a bunch of stores on the way home today. Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Vallejo Targets...nothin' much. Most/all of the stores had at least one of the DVD Battle packs. Pleasant Hill TRU and Martinez Walmart had lots of Wave 9 figures (even BAT and Snow Serpent.) Walmart also had all the Wave 1 vehicles. They also had a Wild Weasel/Ace comic pack without the Doc coupon. Not too exciting, but interestin'.

The Vallejo Target had lots of Beachheads, Serpentors, and Wild Bills. Like five of each. Weird. I think Wild Bill is the new Buzzer.

Has anyone had any luck finding the Wave 5 comic packs anywhere? Or the TRU exclusive 5-packs? I can't find them anywhere, but at least Wave 9 has started to show up in more places.

Wave 7 seems to still be on the shelf, and Wave 9 now, but what the hell happened to Wave 8?

I've noticed a lot of the Targets in the Mountain View/Sunnyvale/San Jose area have reset all their shelves with 9-12 pegs for single-cards, but for the past 5 days, all they've got is Buzzers pushed to the front, spread thin like a bad comb-over.

And DVD packs. I thought they'd be more popular... Maybe it's because the first 2 are all repaints? Same as Wave 1 of the Comic Packs? Those suckers are everywhere.

And it seems like Wild Bill and Torpedo are slowly becoming the new Buzzers...

Other than the second wave (I think, it's hard to keep track, although I have all the single-cards to date) with Flint, I think wave 8 is the toughest to find. I haven't found more than 2 in the wild... The CC with the canister is the ONLY one I've found, so I know it's existed, but I am willing to bet it was only out a few times.

Meanwhile, yesterday I picked up 2 Snow Serpents, a Viper and BBQ at the Mountain View Wal-Mart. First time I've found any quality waves actually in-stock. I still only have 1 B.A.T., trying to find 2 more so I can at least open one.

Those comic-packs are still eluding me, same as the TRU 5-packs. For once I'm looking for something besides just single-carded figures...

BTW, if anyone is having any trouble finding the latest wave of vehicles (they're showing up everywhere now, so I doubt this), PM me... I only want to keep 1 set, and I have a set of "openers" which ended up being delivered from Amazon all mangled.

La Mesa TRU today had the Greenshirts vs Firefly and CG five packs. There was only one Greenshirt set left when I found them.

Didn't see any at Morena TRU, and I checked Fri, Sat, Sun.

The Wave 1 Vehicles at Sports Area Target Friday showed up again Saturday, so they had two cases. No other sightings of vehicles except at Clairemont Walmart (only the dregs).

This morning the Target on la brea and santa monica blvd had a shit ton of wild bills and scarlet/hawk 2 packs, usual pegwarmers. But they did have one vamp and two armadillo vs chariots, which I already have so they're there for one of you to pick up if you're looking for em. Also, I gave an employee the dpci number for the conquest/rattler but he just said it wasn't on the planorama and when I mentioned they may just have it sitting in the back he explained that their stock room is all the way in burbank so he had no way of checking. Hey Blndweasel...I just wanted to send out a Thank you for all the San Diego store status updates you have been giving us San Diegans lately. I too am in San Diego and I really appreciate the status reports that you are doing by driving all over town and using up your gas for nothing. I live in the Mira Mesa area, so all we got is a Target store. However, I work in the Carmel Mountain area and the Target there has been a lot better to me than the Mira Mesa store. I might be heading up the to Escondido TRU and Target this afternoon, so if I see anything or don't, I'll try to give an update for you and other local San Diegans =). Thanks again for all your posts the past few weeks.

FYI: As of today Mira Mesa target was devoid of anything new or interesting, just a bunch of wild bills and wave 1 comic packs. I went to Carmel Mountain Target yesterday and there was nothing aside from again Wild Bills and Wave 1 comic packs. Fortunately, I have all the wave 9 figures I want. I am mostly looking for the DVD packs now at Target; which is ironic since Target seems to no longer carry them anymore in San Diego and I refuse to pay 25 dollars at TRU for repainted figures. I mostly want the Lady Jaye remake. She keeps begging me to take her home, but I keep resisting...until now that is =P.

Toys R Us in Escondido, off of Auto Park Way has Wave 5 Comic Packs. However, it is only CC/MineSweeper and Nemesis Enforcer/Falcon. I left them all there and will pass on these as the paint apps are really, really bad on these.

Target in the same shopping center has a bunch of Wave 1 Vehicles (i.e. Hiss, Vamp, Trouble Bubble/Ram, Armadillo/Serpentor's Chariot) and DVD packs. Finally, I found the Lady Jaye DVD pack. Of course, it was 15 miles from where I live, but that's cool.

Update for the San Fernando Valley:
I really haven't been hunting since I am caught up. It's been over two weeks since I've done any 'real' hunting. Today on my day off I checked 3 TRUs, 3 Targets and a Wal-Mart. I knew I wasn't gonna find anything so no big deal. One things for sure TRUs are overflowing with the Senior Officers 3 Packs and all have the same stamp date from when I bought mine four months ago. Also the Armadillio and Air Chariot seem to be the shelf warmers here in the Valley. So until I see a post of Wave 10, Vehicles Wave 2, or Comic Packs Wave 6, I'll be taking a break. I'm pretty sure all of your wallets can use the down time after all the stuff we got hit with in July.

This morning spotted a new shipment of the two packs but same Wild Bill wave at Wal-Mart (Hanford).

Lemoore (K-Mart) received the vehicles...all four were there...vamp, hiss, ram, armadillo. And the 12" figures were there, still have the 25th anniversary's still there. And they received a shipment of the two-packs. Shipwreck/Mocassin wave.

Picked up the Hiss Tank and Firefly/Storm Shadow.

May go back to WM and get the Tripwire, Falcon and Destro comic packs.

But I am missing so many things now from the 25th anniversary line and picking up just the things that I want than to complete the wave or line as originally intended.

Went to Wal-Mart to see if anything new came in. Nada...but did pick up the pack with MJ and the latest two-packs with Tripwire, Destro and Hawk. But noticed a new endcap for Transformers Animated at this store that wasn't there yesterday.

Went to Target and all that were on pegs was a Torpedo, Hawk, Bazooka and Wild Bill. They had a vamp and an opened box Hiss and another box set with MJ. Picked up Hawk and Bazooka. I should have gotten this wave when they were all at Target and WM. Especially at WM since it's cheaper than friggin' Target.

Went to KM and got the three remaining vehicles. Ram, Armadillo and Hiss.

Went to Redondo Beach & Manhattan Beach Targets this morning. MB had a Rock N' Roll but in non 25th packaging. Said it's from the comic book! Anyway, seems like a new "back" with the last row containing the original stormshadow, cobra commander in battle armor and rock n roll. I think the "mystery figures" were bludd, spirit and someone else.

Bludd isn't in this revised wave 8 case, so you didn't miss him.

I saw more HISS Drivers and PP Officers than I can shake a stick at. I've been searching for another set of wave 9, and when I finally find figures, it is this new revised wave. hooray! hopefully they don't clog the pegs and affect the distribution of wave 10.

I believe the official date is Sept 3. Whent the last release of exclusives came out, they were waiting at the checkout endcaps on that specific date at both Othello and Sports Arena. Mission Valley had them upstairs in the toy section, on an endcap. Right now they have that huge Clone wars endcap at Mission Valley, so I doubt that's ready to come down yet. Definitely search around if you don't see them at first sight on that day.

I wanted the wave 8's so badly but at $7.99, and I keep my stuff carded... it was hard but had to leave them. Noticed they received more vehicles and possible wave 9's in because I saw the arctic assault figures there (that was it though from wave 9) and more of the 12" figures.

Looks like K-Mart was doing a reset. According to the employees, they are getting things ready for Winter now and clearing things out.

But lo and behold behind the WWE figures were a Cobra Commander with the capsule and a Viper. So, not sure if that was a remnant of wave 7 or 8 or what.

The cool thing is to find these figures at $5.99. I can't believe that single figures are much cheaper in K-Mart than Wal-Mart and Target now (when I was bitching a few months ago how WM and Target were $4.99 and KM were more).

Tustin Marketplace TRU: Basic TF: Animated items, had the Mudflap and Inferno exclusives. On the GI Joe side, had the Cobra and Joe 3-packs of CC and troopers and Joe leaders, Duke and Roadblock singles.

Cool. My best hauls were when I was temporarily assigned in Santa Barbara. They don't have much there and in Goleta, but north in Lompoc, Santa Maria there is stuff. On the way home though I would pass through oxnard, camarillo, thousand oaks... it was a 1/2 day event but I'd pass at least 2 TRUs, 2 K-marts, 6 targets! Those were the days... anyone going to Frank and Sons this weekend? I might drop by, but the long weekend might make it scare for vendors. My pal collects hot wheels and said there really isn't much there in terms of rarer joes.

I found the exclusive BP's this morning in Los Feliz TRU. After seeing a rather poorly stocked Joe section, a friendly stocker walked by and asked if he could help. Before I could even finish describing the Battle Packs to him, he said, "I know what you're looking for. We just got a case off the truck."

Minutes later he returned w/ 2 of each. I grabbed my Green Shirts and headed out with a smile. All caught up for now.

They got two cases in at each location this past Saturday, as far as I can tell... Morena TRU was sold out within 15 minutes. Better luck at La Mesa, although they are typically a day behind on stocking. Not sure about the TRU off 54.

I would guess the next shipment to come in another two weeks or so.

Found the Greenshirts vs Firefly & Crimson Guard Team Builder 5-packs at the Pleasant Hill TRU today (they only had one of each.)

Pleasant Hill Target's pegs were overflowin' with Waves 6, 7, & 8! I I saw everyone except for Major Blood (or was he Wave 9, I forget) and Cobra Commander with crystals. Wave 8 CC seems to be kinda popular lately, which seems weird since he was the easiest to find when Wave 8 initially hit the stores. Scalpers just realized that he was different than Wave 4 CC? I dunno.

Walnut Creek had most of Wave 8 and Wave 1 vehicles.

I kinda want the black Destro, but I just ordered Wave 5 Comic Packs off HTS, since I'm tired of scouring the stores for them. I'm sure they'll show up eventually, but even Wave 4 CPs are still fairly hard to find... Shipwreck and Copperhead I've found more often, Duke and Redstar a few times, but only saw 2 SS/FF in-store, and I bought 1 of them at the time.

Anyone finds a black-helmet Destro, I'll pay up to $20-$25 (depending on condition) for it if you find it and don't want it, but I'm not wanting to bother with eBay pricing for it. PM me if you find him. I can drive to meet you so long as you're in a 40-mile radius of Palo Alto.

Next time you go in, you will see a number on the White Tag, thats to indicate if the sale will go to lou, or go to the person renting out the case.... Lous stuff is 95... and NO i do or never have worked there, just spend lots of money there :) ....

I found the black Spider-Man, Adam Warlock, and Spiral.

Therefore, I still need Union Jack, Wolverine, and Silver Savage.

They all have the same DCPI which is also the same number as previous waves. It's 087-06-1986. It doesn't help much, since stores are still getting in HML3. I ran into this problem at a couple of Targets.

Walmarts got a new revision case:

snow serpents, bats, hawk, bbq, ninja ku, flash (new packaging), bludd (new packaging), something else that wasn't very interesting... clairemont had a lot, didn't see any at Grossmont, or College Ave Spring Valley. Check those places tomorrow I guess. Santee had a one case opened it looked like. Aero had nothing.

No area targets put the rattler/conquest out early... I checked them all.

TRU La Mesa and TRU Morena had CG-5packs and Greenshirt 5-packs. three cases at each loc as of 9am

Walmart on College Ave off the 94 did have the new revision case which included tons of wave 8 and 9 figures. At least three hawks for that guy who was looking for him. They also had a few major bludds for those of you who haven't found him yet. And an even weirder addition was flash. most of the packaging was pretty smashed up for a lot of these however. This was this afternoon around 4pm.

yeah, I forgot to mention that... the walmart cases I saw at multiple locations were horribly smashed, it looked like. On numerous figures the bubbles were releasing from the card. I had to do a double take, I thought someone opened the package to take out some parts or something. I guess that's kind of nice for the kids and the people who are buying the figs to have loose... scalpers seemingly would be less inclined to buy something that's all f*ed up with the packaging.

The single packed cards are bent up crazy, like all their single packed cards always are.

I've got a find that will trump that...

The San Jose Target, off Saratoga Road, had a revision case with both Bludd and Sgt. Flash in it... Of course, they were the revision figures, without the foil 25th logo, but for "openers", I don't think that matters....

That means, I picked up (1 of each of):

• Bludd
• Flash
• B.A.T.
• Snow Serpent

If only they had a CC with Battle Armor, those would be about the 5 hardest-to-find, non-variant/exclusive figures out there. I think having picked up 4 of the 5, that may be the smallest, yet most amazing haul yet.

My friend Kevin also picked me up a fairly damaged Bludd and Flash, who will be my "openers". The other 2 I found are decent shape, and I already have 1 of each on the foil cards, so...

Anyone in the Bay Area who wants the other white carders, PM me... I've already got 1 of each on the foil card, and I want to open the damaged ones, but 1 each of the Bludd and Flash are up for grabs...

Went to Wal-Mart in Hanford this morning and wave 9's were in...everything there but B.A.T.s. The pegs are so full of wave 8's and wave 9's. Problem is that people are going after Baroness and Flint of Wave 8 and B.A.T.'s for wave 9 and leaving everything else on the pegs.

The peg warmers are Wild bill and a lot of Vipers.

Update for San Fernando Valley & Santa Clarita: Went out hunting for the new revision (Flash & Maj. Bludd). Mainly checked the WalMarts nothing but Waves 8 & 9 (no B.A.T.s, Flash, or Maj Bludd) seems like the WalMarts are remodeling the stores instead of the regular resets in departments. Checked a couple of TRUs-"nada" even the Wave 1 TRU 3 packs are dwindling down. Good, we need the room when Wave 2 hits. Also TRUs are doing store remodels.
Hopefully in a few weeks we'll start seeing Wave 10, Target's Rattlers & Conquests, TRUs Wave 2 3 Packs & whatever goodness Hasbro has for us.
