Wonder if Noob Saibot turns good? He's the original Sub Zero and was on his way to redeeming himself but died before he could, and ended up evil as Noob Saibot. Sub zero from mk2 onwards is his younger brother.

From what I saw the final characters were pretty much as allready listed. I think some (like, Skarlet Cyber Sub-Zero and Quan-Chi etc) have to be unlocked but we really didn't spend much time on that. We basically spent all night kicking each other's ass in 2-player.

Anyway as a fan of mk3, I think this game absolutely rocks. Had a friend over and we were doing 2player online tagteam, holy crap so much fun.

Yep... and MK3 Coming out and getting the Preorder T-Shirt with the code on it.

This is the best Mortal Kombat title in the last decade. Got a great Classic MK feel to it down to the retelling of the story of the first three titles that actually does a good job of clearing up the fuzzier details that overlap from title to title. And the book ends from the Kollector's Edition are awesome. Make a great display for my small PS3 collection.
Decent roster, good game play, fluid movement and some impressive graphics.
Not a perfect game though. I actually think Scorpion and Sub-Zero played better in MK vs DC than this game. But at least it's not nearly as combo heavy as Deadly Alliance or Deception. And no more free range arenas, back to good old 2D fighting.

So, it would seem that Shang Tsung has the Joker's lost fatality in this game. I just saw him turn into a clown with a similar outfit to the Joker's [in red], draw a gun that shot a "Bang" flag, pull a second and pop my niece's character through the face... He then danced around laughing like the Joker from MK vs DC.

The story looks awesome. Raiden sending a message back in time to him in mk 1...yada yada. Whats the deal with Cyber Sub-Zero? They kill him off in this one? Hes my fav character and always thought how it was cool he won in one of the games and got the dragon medallion,etc. Hope they didnt jump on the fanboy wagon and make scorpion get him. If you answer this please send in PM for you dont tell anyone the story if no one wants to know. Everyone makes a big deal about spoilers but I personally dont care. Thanks.

Holy cow! I love this game! Even though my boy wasn't really into it I picked it up for him for Easter (yeah, nothing says Easter like Mortal Kombat in your Easter basket) I wasn't expecting much but this game is great. the story mode makes it stand out from other fighters where it's just "next challenger" this one makes you want to keep on fighting and seeing what happens next. And the 'test Your Luck' mode has kept my boy and I playing all day. Headless and armless combat with magnetic floors and 'sleep' attack... I'm dying... this is awesome!

Finishing in totem mode seems to offer decent endings for each of the characters as well. My niece finished the game with Ermac, his is pretty cool.

I picked this game up on the release day...got home and wasn't feeling so good but played a little bit and was pretty dissapointed.

The next day after work I figured id give it another go since the night before I was just too tired.

Well I was right this game is that shit. I've only been playing the story mode but am completely hooked.

The only thing I don't like is, maybe it's just me, but it feels a little slow sometimes during a fight. But other than that...loving the story.

A good reboot to the series.

SPOILER:

Bi Han is the 1st Sub Zero, and is killed by Scorpion. Kuai Liang is his younger brother, code name Tundra, and takes on the code name Sub Zero to honor Bi Han. He enters the 2nd Mortal Kombat tournament to hunt down Bi Han's killer(Bi Han is later reborn as Noob Saibot).

When the Lin Kuei automation is to proceed, Raiden intervenes and Smoke is rescued, whereas Sub Zero is captured instead, for automation. Sub Zero returns as Cyber Sub Zero, regains his memories, and joins the fight with Earthrealm.

The 1st Sub Zero dying was told in the 2nd game once you beat the game using Sub Zero, who is revealed to be the younger brother of the original Sub Zero

I absolutely love this game.. I haven't stopped playing it since I got it at midnight on the release. I love the story mode.. glad they brought back the test your **** stuff. Glad to see that everyone is pretty much in attendance.. minus Motaro.. which is fine and gets explained later.. and Rain.. which i liked playing.

Kabal has a neat new story line as well.

Also glad you can now choose the human alts of Cyrax and Sector.

Indeed. Sucks Kahn, Goro and Kintaro wern't part of the game in the first place. Though I must say is it just me or am I the only one a little dissapointed in Kahn's final look? His helmet looks like a cornrow. I liked how he looked in the first trailer alot better. And no prob on the kodes.

Did like playing as Goro at the 150 mark though.

251 sucks. You play as Shang Tsung against Baraka, Sindel and Shao Kahn. The first 2 aren't hard but Shang sucks against Kahn. His attack are slow and do only minimal damage and Kahn just spams you with attacks, and it seemed 8/10 times, if you land an attack that could do decent damage, it bounced off him. The only reason I beat the challenge was cause I got luckey.

There's also a challenge where you play as Stryker against 3 Shao Kahns though after you beat 251, that challenge will be easy as pie in comparison.

Really? I found 251 much harder. On the one with 3 Kahns, I just kept my distance and kept shooting him and jumped over his hammer if he threw it at me and if he got too close, used the baton sweep. Not to mention, Shao Kahn just seemed dumbed down compaired to challenge 251.

Oh and I forgot to mention, if he throws his hammer at you, after you jump over it, either block or do a baton sweep since 9/10 times it seemed Kahn went for either a shoulder rush or spear attack.

I've found that teleporting behind Kahn is the best way to beat him. Especially with Raiden [and then uppercut] and Scorpion.

I'll have wait till I get to 251 to see about Shang Tsung's issues. Man that Sheeva, Goro. Kintaro group kicked my ass. That, and the Sub-Zero Special moves challenge against Sindel who never jumped into my ice clones. Stupid bitch...

Alright, I didn't have a whole lot of issues with the 3 Shao Kahns... After all, Stryker's one redeeming quality is that he's fast with that gun. But Ermac versus three Goros sucks ass... I can't even knock the first one out.

You may have allready passed it but if not here's what I did. I used Scorpion and just spammed the hell out of his teleport punch move and if my opponent was far away and I felt he would block the teleport, I did the Hellfire summons. I also went back replayed challenge 300 with Kitana and had no real problem. I tossa a few fans at the opponent and when they get too close, use her Square Boost attack to fly over them and continue to spam them with her fan toss.

Bought Mortal Kombat at TRU last night. They had a 2 for 50 sale. Grabbed MK and LA Noire. Awesome deal.

Also been playing Skarlet for a bit. Really fun character. Her fatalities are sick and she's pretty fast. Sadly she has no spot in Necropolis nor an alternate costume but hopefully that will get resolved.

Anyways, not really that impressed about Skarlet...she isn't horrible but she isn't WOW, HOW AMAZING like a lot of people in the MK community are making her out to be....

I am glad they are putting out classic characters as well as new ones for the DLC.. I love this version of the game. So far I have no complaints.

I like the re due of the story line.
human versions of the cyborgs are a great addition to the story.
cyber sub zero is not that bad also.

Skarlett is worth the down load to play her.

I have to personally disagree about Skarlet being worth it. I didn't find her to be THAT great.

Skarlet was a dis-appointment. Kenshi is awesome. But so far, I think Cyber-Subzero is the best character in the game. The promo trailer for Rain looks awesome, but I might pass on that one since I am not a big fan of Rain.

I really didn't like it for the simple fact that they left out a few characters which they now have up for DLC. Plus they went back in time on it. Kinda confused the heck outta me. its like they re did the movies or something and put it into a game.

Freddy is the 4th DLC character for Mortal Kombat. I was never a Freddy fan and personally I think this is lame. I wished they would have brought back another MK Character. Personally, I liked Bo Rai Cho or another female character.
