When are we going to get together and party like Rock Stars?

I know a good 70% of you live below I-69. For those in the area, we could meet up & carpool down (I don't mind driving).

I need to get out, dammit! I've lived here for long enough and I still dont know where anything is or what there is to do.

So, when are we doin' this? Because if it's not going to be any time soon, I'm going to JoeCon (or trying to at least).

Finally! Well it took you long enough to post pics but it was worth the wait. I enjoyed the Dio story. You should do another Dio story with the Transportable Tactical Battle Platform. I liked that picture you had with the two Devilfish parked next to each other below the Battle Platform.

Okay, since we are back online we can hopefully get this meet-up scheduled.

As I told C.I.A.D on Sunday, I again had my head up my @$$ and hadn't looked at calendar. I can't make the 19th due to family obligations. I can make the following weekend the 26th (oh damn, just put two and two together, the 26th! The 26th Brigade! :D ) however.

So I realize that not everyone has to/wants to change weekends for just me, but as C.I.A.D. mentioned, it might be better to go the 26th because then it won't be as crazy since the 19th is opening weekend for Batman:The Dark Knight. So we can hopefully have a better time hanging out.

So what do you guys think? The 26th of July sound good?

I choose UpComing to try and organize this event. Trying to get everyone "centralized" instead of having to go over pages and pages to see who's committed to coming. I understand it's somewhat a pain to have to sign-up, but the idea is to use this for future events too. Like ISM said, you don't have to use the email, and the account will get you into all of Yahoo's services (they are more than just email and search, e.g. Flickr, UpComing, Chat, etc.). So you will get use out of it. Hell I have accounts ALL OVER the place. Google (Gmail), Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.

I appreciate those taking the time to sign up and letting us know if they are in or out. It's just a few weeks away now. More details to come.

The Xtrava-con is a fun, little con, admission is only 3 bucks. I usually set up w/ a buddy, but I'm sitting this one out since I was cleaned out at the TF Con in Toronto He's still setting up and bringing some vintage Joe vehicles he just picked up in a collection. There is usually acouple guys with 25th anniversary, your usual scalper-types, but you can find some good deals if you look hard enough. If you're in the area, you should check it out this Sunday.

As it turns out, the guys want to meet in Dayton (we try to meet at least once a month), but I would like to help you guys organize. You remind me alot of how JOhio started on JBL back in the day. You are by far the most organized and motivated of the other state groups on HT.

As for a gathering giveaway, in JOhio, typically each member brings something from his/her collection for a door prize. It could be an extra ya bought and had buyers remorse or some old boxed or carded items that you wanted to use for trade or custom fodder but never got around to getting rid of. Typically the exec board pitches in for a large "grand prize" so-to-speak which in the past have been a membership to the GIJCC, store exclusive set, a hard to find 6-pack, or one of the 5 packs. This meet I think we will offer up one of the Docs I got at the Con or a Sky BAT. In most cases, someone goes home with something.

We have also started a treasury so we could buy these things. after a while, out of pocket starts to wear on you.

Anyway, I PM'ed one of your members to see if I can contact whomever your designated leader may be. I would like to see if we can do a co-meet maybe late summer or early fall.

As I said, I would like to help. You guys are onto something special as there are very few ORGANIZED 3.75" groups out there. It would be great to have one as JOhio's neighbor.

We have also started a treasury so we could buy these things. after a while, out of pocket starts to wear on you.

Anyway, I PM'ed one of your members to see if I can contact whomever your designated leader may be. I would like to see if we can do a co-meet maybe late summer or early fall.

As I said, I would like to help. You guys are onto something special as there are very few ORGANIZED 3.75" groups out there. It would be great to have one as JOhio's neighbor.

I took a peek & the Yahoo movie listing doesn't go that far ahead in time. I assume the movie is going to be 142 minutes(per IMDB).

Beerfest only runs from 1-6 PM on that Saturday. It's about 20-30 minute drive from Novi to Ypsi. Looking at the website, the cost is 30.00 + fee(35.00 at the gate)

I'm not sure what the 30.00 fee entails, but the website also strongly suggests ordering tix in advance because they may not be available at the gate. Wait, I should be more patient:
"Admission allows access to all beer and entertainment and includes 12 drink tokens. Additional tokens will be available for purchase inside the Festival for 50 cents each.
The Festival also features live entertainment and food will be available for purchase."

There's also the business of doing trades. I'll be bringing some vehicles & extra figs in case anyone is up for them.

The movie was, well, WOW!

It was a good time, but I left right after the movie to go hang out with a friend that was with us.

Everyone brings at least one thing, so that way, everyone goes home with something. Some people bring extras like Funskool figs or VvV/Spy Troops/JvC stuff for the kids. We always try to have one grand prize every meet. This time I think it was the Crimson Sabotage set. Yeah, we're starting to have a bunch of little ones running around. We also have voluentary dues ($12/yr). These funds allows us to reimburse the members who host house parties by covering some of the cost for food/drink/whatever. All in all, it works out.

Check out page 5 and 6 of this thread for some of the pics of the meet. We even had a special appearance by the infamous Bandelero Omega. :D

thats right I had a good reason! seriously though, I highly recommend the Michigan Brewer's Summer Beer Fest... I had no idea how big this was- 200 beers from 30 MI microbreweries. $30 entrance gets you 12 samples.... lots of good stuff but we kept going back to this russian oatmeal stout that 11% abv. 11! It goes to 11!
