I just got my python patrol officer... and man i remember the pictures on gijoeclub.com being much much better in terms of the paint job, i know that those things are subject to change but what they gave us in my opinion is just awful the only thing even remotely representative of python patrol imho is the belt/straps and those only have like, 6 yellow crosses on them total.
i was excited to troop build these but now im kinda turned off by the paint scheme, anyone else notice this ?

i didnt like the one from the 80's just because it was a repaint.

I'm sorry but I could care less about the Python figures. Maybe it is just a nostalgic thing. They came out after I was no longer playing with Joes. Joes just didn't attract very many girls... know what I mean.

no i hear ya brother. If they show us one figure it should bloody well be the same on the mass release not chinsin' on use cause then no one wants to by the product that isnt looking the way its supposed to. I myself wont be picking it up cause its not painted the way and style we were show it would be. these cheese out on us. Boo so far to python patrol.

i definately liked the prototype picture more than the production figure and i'm not even a python patrol fan. the production figure just seems lacking in comparison.
i won't loose any sleep over it however as i don'treally care about this figure other than having one for the collection

The Only Thing I Don't Like Is The Knee Pads Aren't Painted!
Anyone Have The First Production Pics?

i definitely preferred the prototype. the first thing i noticed when i saw him on the shelf was the missing knee paint. still... i bought 6 of them. if i ever grow a pair, i might try a custom knee paintjob.

I like it with black knee pads makes using him for a custom alot easier............

I understand what you mean about the paint job, but it's hard for me to get upset since I care very little for Python Patrol paint schemes. I only bought one out of a need to have a mostly complete collection.

if it says python patrol or tiger forced on the package i'll never know if the paint sucks...wait, yes i will, as it's painted crazy to begin with...

I got a couple now. I will get a couple more. But I don't want a load of officers without any troopers behind them.

I'm just a little confused with this whole Python Patrol thing as it came loooong after I was gone. If the Wal-mart rumour list is true, and we're getting a Crimson Guard Python Patrol figure next, then that throws off my whole concept of Cobra squads and teams.

python patrol seemed a little far fetched for me as a kid. Maybe I was growing out of joes when they came out, but my feelings hasn't really changed since then.

Looks fine to me, just another troop builder. Got 5 already(1 MOC, 4 loose). 3 more and I'll be ready for wave 9 troop builders.

The only python figure I liked was the Viper, I loved the red visor. But I didnt really like any of the other ones.

No PP for me. I'm skipping any PP painted figures. They are just lame. The whole concept was stupid in my opinion, just an excuse to sell repaints in terrible color schemes. PP does not exist in my Cobra army.

yea, I'm a little disappointed with the figure...the only thing "Python" about him is his harness...thankfully, I only got 1 and won't get any more of them.

Upset? Nah, it's hardly a prestige 'must have' figure, so I barely noticed the knees.

left him sitting on the shelf with 'city' roadblock

That roadblock is bad ass i dont know why people dont like him. He comes with a effin awesome gun and looks better wearing the vest.
Crimson Rage

I'd like Roadblock very much as I think he's rather neat, but relying on mail order means I have to pick and choose, and a character duplicate has to take a back seat (for now).

the Python trooper is the first fig in a long time that I've left on the peg. I just can't get past the neon colors.

I like to look at the Star Wars line in relevance to where Hasbro will take the GI JOE line. I know Star Wars is still going... and going... and going... I'm surprised they haven't come out with a Python Patrol Stormtrooper...
Anyway, for GI Joe, let's just hope they don't keep repainting every figure possible and then start "borrowing" the officer molds and the crappy Zartan mold to mold all new troopers with all new paint schemes. Soon they may come out with "Shadow Cobra Troopers" that nobody ever heard of, then a different color trooper for each leader. Major Bludd's "blood red" troopers... etc...
Leave it to Hasbro to kill a great thing.

I say leave it to Hasbro to BRING us a great thing. They gave us GI Joe, and they brought Transformers out of Japan. I can put up with a little nonsense from Hasbro. If need be, I can always pass on a figure.

Indeed. I won't damn Hasbro for one 'poor' figure while ignoring all the great ones. I can't thank the company enough for bringing JOE back in such a cool form.

I echo the statements that if you all are leaving them, then that will make it easier for me to find and buy them. I hate having to miss out on troopers I want.
I loved the Python Patrol back in the day, but alas, I was growing out of them, but still liked looking at them at the stores.
So, as long as people are leaving them, I will continue to buy them.
i just hope they make the original 6 first before making other NON originals.

I must admit, I hated the Python Patrol originally and didn't get any of them when I rebuilt my ARAH collection as an adult.
But, while he isn't a "must have dozens of 'em" figure, the 25th version has a strange allure and I went out of my way to get two despite my earlier reservations.

WOW...mine was SLOPPY AS ALL H3LL!!!!!
They really botched with the yellow...
And if I remember correctly, wasn't the Python Officer from the original line the green one?...WITH OFFICER WEB GEAR????
Dosen't matter...their all fodder for bloody ninja deaths.

I actually really like the new Python Patrol Officer. When I was younger I was really into the Python Patrol line of vehicles and I was really pumped up when I found a couple of the new Python Patrol Officers while visiting my hometown this past weekend.
I have to admit that the concept of the Python Patrol is a little bit out there especially if one takes into account the colors utilized on the actual figures (bright yellow gloves!), but then again if realism was my main concern I probably would have not have liked about 75% of the GI JOE line in the first place :-).
One of the last GI JOE vehicles that I owned when I was younger was the Python Patrol Conquest. It was an awesome jet!

Python Patrol was like Bizzarro world because the Cobra Trooper was repainted as the officer and the Cobra officer was the Trooper. Give Hasbro points for remembering this :)

He was my favorite since he was the only one I could find from W8 till today! I did buy it!
