Just curious what kind of distances other members travel on average when going on a joe hunt. I'm fairly lucky, there are two walmarts, a target, and a TRU all with in about a 10 mile radius of each other in the city I live in.

i am lucky enough to live within about 30 miles of 8 Targets, 7 Wal-Marts and 2 TRUs. that's probably why i don't have too much trouble finding all the figures. one of them is obund to have 'em.

Too much. I've gone from Long Beach to Compton to Torrance/Gardena/Hawthorne to Culver City to Baldwin Hills to west Hollywood to the San Fernando Valley to Glendale. I'm trying to stop this craziness.

When I lived in BC (Abbotsford) I used to drive all the way out to Seattle 3 times a month (about a 3 hour drive). I would stop in at 5 Wal-Marts, 4 Targets, 3 K-Marts, 2 KB Toys, 2 Fred Meyer and 2 Toys R Us. But now I live in Alberta so Online is my only hunting. Not so much hunting as it is waiting and paying out the A** for shipping. I guess it's better $$ shipping than gas prices right now.

When I was hunting like a madman I would basically blanket Orange County and hit up every Target or Walmart nearby. It was within a 40 mi radius I believe. My full tank of gas would be gone within 3 days.

Well...is like a sixth sense that won't let me sleep. I usually find my needs in a 20 mile radius upon hitting 1 or 2 stores. But I get the urge to keep going and go visit other stores and hit the jackpot.

I am not sure what the radius or anything is, but, round trip I think hitting every single store I can takes about 100 miles, so that's not too bad. Its 20 miles to one city, and 18 to another, so I don't make the trip terribly often to both.

i live in bangor, maine in the winter, and when i visit my parents in kennebunk/toy hunt i go from highway mile 190 to 35 for a total of 5 walmarts, 4 targets, 2 TRUs, and 2 kmarts. problem with that is that that far north from the rest of the US is still pretty far south from canada as to be in a dead zone in terms of shipments. though i did manage to find a wave 1 snake eyes.

but then, even with nil shipments, there's still only a handful of buyers. so stuff tends to linger. pretty give-and-take.

Here's my list of "hunting spots" in Northern Mississippi
1. Holly Springs Wal-Mart (main spot, usually has new waves within 1-3 weeks) - ~12 miles away
2. New Albany Wal-Mart (pretty much only peg warmers) ~ 15 miles
3. Ripley Wal-Mart (only place around where I've seen any "revision waves" - just got a Zartan, Firefly, & v1 SE there two days ago) ~15 miles
4. Toys R' Us, Tupelo (pretty much all they have is peg warmers and the TRU Exclusives) ~30 miles
5. Tupelo Wal-Mart (mostly peg-warmers, with an occasional surprise) about a mile from the TRU

I usually cover New Albany & Tupelo one week then Ripley the next. I go to Holly Springs every week though, that's where I gets me groceries!

I kind of have 4 hunting grounds/routes

Near home...
2 Targets, 2 Wal-Marts and 1 TRU all within 10-15 miles. A third Wal-Mart is opening soon too!!

Near work...
2 Wal-Marts, 1 Target and 1 TRU

On the way to my folks...
1 Target and 1 Wal-Mart

From work to home...
2 Wal-Marts and 1 Target. There is a different WM I can hit if I go a different way home too.

I'm lucky, in that I work at Walmart and usually know when my store (or another close by) will get more Joes in. If I ever buy them at Target, it's only because I was in the area and stepped in. Usually though, my hunting area is about a 2 mile radius (when I go into the town I live in). :D

On a daily basis i hit a target , walmart, and a TRU on the way to work. On weekends i get on highway and drive a "loop" around the metro area and hit about 5 of ech. But with gas now thats every 2 weeks

From Thursday to Sunday I have these options-

12 Wal-Marts, 3 TRUs, 5 Targets, 4 K-Marts and a partridge and a pear tree. Please keep in mind that I visit another city and have places in between to stop at.

There are two targets, one walmart and one tru in walking distance from my complex. Thats pretty sweet. There are 13 targets in SF valley, they are in driving distance, however, I don't like going up to the santa clarita Walmarts/and valencia target because they seem to always be dry. Its not worth 4.10 a gallon. Id rather BBTS it then. I just walk to my four stores and know I'll eventually get what I need. You guys out there buying cases after cases. . . its eventually going to nip you in the you know what. You'll be returning them to the store eventually when no one bids on them on EBAY. I'll see them then.

I rely on friends more and more because they have the drive and desire to go hunting, but when I do go it's usually just a couple of stores at a time. I don't go on extended toy hunts like I used to.

I already drive 45 miles one way for work each day, so on my way, I pass 3 targets, 3 walmarts, 1 TRU and a few Meijer stores. Plus if I go a little out of my way, there are 2 more walmarts and another Target nearby.

So it blows having to drive almost 500 miles a week for work, but one good thing about it is that there are plenty of places to check for Joes and it's allowed me to all of the ones I wanted without much trouble.

I do all my buying on line.

I don't even mess with the stores for ANYTHING.

unless I am on a strike mission

I do always stop at the toy section and 'check it out'

but the large majority of stuff comes from on-line status.

where else would I be able to get NECA NINJA TURTLES?

SOTA STREET FIGHTER FIGURES?
SKELEANIMALS?
VOLTRON?
MOTU STACTIONS.
Anime Statues and Toys

The only store that even comes close to the stuff I want to 'buy' is hot topic.

Sometimes you just need a 44" invader zim

where the hell am i going to get a frito EWOK?

Target?, TRU?, Wal mart?

if it 3 o clock in the morning and I need to spend 400$ on army builders

the only way to do that is on ebay :P

so pretty much

I evolved with my enviorment

I leave the toy sections to the Rookies.

I am an on line soldier buddy!

I do things to where it benefits me

I calculate the cost of time (usually at work shopping) so I am getting paid to shop.

then look at the cost of gas and decide ok 'shipping of a flat rate and I am GUARENTEED TO GET IT.

Or I can waste gas and Time searching from store to store and then fight people for it when I find it.

so ya... I would rather buy it knowing i will get it and pay 1-2$ more per item
usually less + shipping

save times, gas, stress, wear and tear on my car less chance of being stuck in traffic. No one will label me as a scalper

instead of searching for toys I get to spend time 'enjoying my self'

catch a movie, hit a bootie call, know what i mean vern :D

Before gas prices went through the roof I would cover 100 miles in my search. In my area we have 30+ Wal-Marts, 4 T0ys R us, 10+ Target stores and 2 KB Toys. Just near my house there is at least 15 Wallys within 30 miles of each other and 6 Targets. Whenever I would get frisky I would cover almost 200 miles and hit well over 50 Wallys (that was when gas was right at $2 a gallon).

I don't travel that far since I am without a car. I walk to Walmart and back everyday and sometime twice to check for GI Joes. If I don't hang out in the store I can make it there and back in an hour and ten minutes.

As much as it takes to get the job done...lol.

Well, i have a Target, 2 K Marts, TRU, and 3 Wal Marts that are really close to me, i would say about a 10 to 15 mile radius. If i expand further, i could hit 2 more Wal Marts and 1 more K Mart...

I have 5 Target's, 6 WM's, 1 TRU, and 3 K-Mart's. All in a 20 mile radius, round trip. TRU, WM, and Target have stores about 5 minutes away and now that I know the stock days I dont have to go past those 3, unless I wanna army build.

I got most of my Joes at one store...Walmart....I've picked up a few at Target, TRS, and Kmart. All are on my way to work. Within 15 miles from my home. We have 1 of each in my area.

my job consists of driving from youngstown (northeast) ohio to laredo or el paso (southwest) texas and back. i drive mostly at night and hit 5 or more walmarts everyday after 11pm when they start stocking product. it usually doesnt take me to long to find all the new stuff and build a decent army.

Damn! some of ya'll are hardcore. I thought I was dedicated stopping by 4 stores on my way to and from work several times a week.......guess not, lol. Ive had most of my luck due to the fact I work from 10 p.m. at night till 6 a.m. in the morning. Late Night and early morning are the perfect times to catch new shipments.
