I just wanted to know if anyone here would like to see any of the current 25th Anniversary figures scaled up to a Sigma 6 or Marvel Legends size. Another cool idea would be to see some of the better well known characters made into Hasbro's larger sized Unleashed figures.
I loved the size of the Sigma 6 line. I even liked their articulation. I didn't however like the styles and colors they chose for original ARAH characters. I'm old school, and I know that Sigma 6 was a new story line and all, but I'm all about keeping the characters looking the way they originally were shown to us 25 years ago. That's the way they captured our hearts and imagination. Another thing that I didn't like about the Sigma 6 line was that I thought some of the weapons looked too over sized or too "futuristic" looking. What ever happend to good ole army figures? I guess that's another reason why I hated the Battle Force 2000 and Eco Warriors from the original line.
What are your thoughts about what you would like to see if Hasbro did made a line of ARAH figures that were 8 inches tall or so?

No way. I'd rather Hasbro concentrate on just the scale that we have now so we can get more 25th figures made. SW can barely thrive with more than two scales so I don't think Joe can, either (now that we have 12" Joes on the horizon). I do believe Hasbro said the 25th figure size and build is the Joe figure for the future (meaning all Joes will be the same size and of the same basic construction as these 25th figures).

The scale of gijoes is what made them perfect for me as a kid. I could pack an entire battle inside a lunchbox, whereas transformers and thundercats and masters of the universe practically were lunchboxes. I have no need for bigger figures.

Nah, never liked the Sigma 6 stuff just because of their size. Much prefer the 3.75" stuff.

i'm down with any and all joes but i miss the sigma 6 line as well they had potential to opening up alot more different figures for that line and at the same time keep the 25th growing

Nope. Don't want them, don't need them. Part of what makes GI Joe great are the vehicles, and the larger the figure the lamer and more out of proportion the vehicles become. Imagine how crappy a 1:9 Skystriker or Mobat would look let alone something like the Flagg.

I agree with 3.75" to 4" as the best format for figures. Scale is key. I really think, and have thought since I was a kid for that matter that all action figures should be this scale so that everything would be compatible. It would have been the illest thing to me as a kid if MASK, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Sectaurs, Masters of the Universe, Secret Wars and Super Powers were all in the same scale. I know most kids didn't care or were oblivious to scale, but something about the figures heads not being in proportion irked me except with the Hulk and other big characters, (there's a lot of 5" scale Toy Biz Marvel superheroes that are in scale with GI Joes). I guess I was just odd like that. So I really hope Hasbro concentrates more on the 3.75 inch scale and translates the Marvel Legends characters properly to Joe Scale.

I never got into the sigma 6 line so i would have to say i would like the 25th line to stay the same scale as it is now. The smaller joes are easier to collect and don't take up as much room. I am already having enough trouble trying to find room for all the small figures i have...

I collect 12 inch & 3 3/4 figures. 12 inch is what started Joe and 3 3/4 perfected it. Anything in between, isn't my thing. That's why I never really got into Marvel Legends(only have Blade & Deadpool cuz they're my favorite characters outside of Joe's & Star Wars), but I do have most of the SHS, cuz the're close in scale with my Joe's and Star Wars fig's.

Hells NO! Yuck..... I'd rather see those 12" line from HotTyos format than Sgima line. Yuck to the Sigma!!!

I look at the Spider-man Unleashed figures that recently hit shelves by Hasbro and do think a few select Joes could be real cool in the larger scale. Just my opinion though. Even these Mighty Mugs vinyl art figures, I'd be down for a few of those.
If you look at the SM3 Unleashed line and now the Marvel Legends Unleashed line, I bet we'll see a GIJoe Unleashed line by the time the movie comes out. Even if it's just Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, I'd be cool with that.
No. I don't like the Sigma line. It takes up the retail shelf space that the 25th Anniversary line could use.

I do not want to see any sigma six scale figures. Right now they are looking at 4" and 12" formats. Adding yet another size format will likely hurt sales in one or more of them.
I do think the 8" format is a good size, and very kid friendly. Reminds me of the days when Mego reigned.

3 3/4 is easier on everyones wallet, especialy with the heavy repaints that have been hitting lately.

Let it go. Anything beyond 3 3/4 or 12in dilutes the line. In addition, don't mix it with other properties. If Hasbro concentrates on their core product they will find continued success, when they lose focus, they devalue the brand. It's basic brand management and discipline.

if Sigma 6 had been released similarly to the 25th line, being that the figs resembled their classic counterparts, would you have collected them?
or was the size an issue that could just not be overcome?
i ask because i was never a fan of the barbie sized Joes,"just too damn big"...but seeing some members customs has me drooling, and wondering if i had seen a classic looking S6 fig, would i have bought it?

I wished they were Marvel Legends size. 8" is just too big.

I already like Sigma 6, sort of, so if they were released as their ARAH counterparts they would've been even more appealing...although only by a slightly larger margin.

if the sigma six figures hadn't been so dispreportionate and goofy looking AND been done up in the 25th style i would have been more apt to buy them but their seriously goofy look and huge size warned me off.

As long as they are not done "new sculpt"(2002-2006) style, I'm in.

It would be a neat novelty to do, maybe, a huge, classic Cobra Commander and Duke or something (my bias would be for Flint and Zartan. . .), but I like RAH Joes in the size that they were.

i never saw the thread, but i woulda voted yes...
and i'm not sure how people are taking my querry, but i meant the same scale and new sculpt style, but they are painted, geared, and accessorized like the 25th line...i have seen some customs done in this fashion and they look great!..they have me wishing i had something that i normally don't like...so it's the classic look that grabs me...thats also how i know that the movie characters not looking like their ARAH counterparts will definately not appeal to me...

If I saw a Baroness, Crimson Guard, Viper, Eel, or some B.A.T.S. in a store I'd probably buy a few. Large ARAH figures, if done exactly like vintage Joes would be great. As long as they aren't done up with doll style soft goods like the old pre-3.75" Joes. All plastic, NO capes, NO removable straps n' NO belts. Keep 'em 1000% 80's style, better yet... JUST PUT SOME 1983-86 JOES IN A REVERSE 'HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS' MACHINE.
A scaled up size Crimson Guard. Keep all the dimensions EXCACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINALS. Also do the backpack & gun completely the same as the '85 version. Do this with all the Joes. <--I know this won't ever happen...but oh how awsome it would be. The new 25th 4" Crimson Guards were a huge disappointment. Most of the 25th Joes were in a bunch of ways.
Rubbery soft plastic = bad.
Hard plastic (that doesn't bend, no arms falling apart when you pose them. And hands that can actually hold weapons!!) = good.

Same.
I love the 8" scale, and the sturdiness of the plastic (something you don't find in many action figures), the articulation, the angular, cartoony sculpting. The Sigma designs were great, but bring on the ARAH ones!! ^_^

I collected them anyhow. The first Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes they put out were pretty damn close to ARAH style anyway. Same with Zartan and Destro to an extent. But I liked the updated versions. I don't want the same damn names and designs in every toy line.

I loved the S6 figures, but the large size limited how many I could get. I had three SKY BATS because they were so cool, but would have got more had they been 3 3/4.
So yes, I'd love to see a smaller S6 range. Can't see it happening though.
I am surprised that some young scamp hasn't made a post about the movie figures being S6. :)

I personally like the size. Sure, they are giants in my toy collection (Timber looks like Megatron's dog, and I'm talking leader class too), but they add something to it. Sure, I only have a few Sigma Six, but the ones I do have look great. Yeah, they're giant, but oh well. Don't buy too many I guess.
As for 25th Sigma Six... wow. That would have been really, really cool.

8 inch. They made "Mission Scale," guys that I think were at the 3 and 3/4 scale, but don't quote me on that one. IDK the Mission Scale size. But the normal Sigma Six were 8 inches.

I think this is a great idea, and would be superior to the new 12" joes that Hasbro just put out. Better articulation, more compatible accessories, and great price.

Obviously, the new 3.75/4" line is the best Joe line yet, but...
I would love S6-sized RAH Joes and was sorry to see the line die.
However, I wouldn't want them to be just Anniversary stuff scaled up. I liked the styling of S6 and would like to see S6 stuff based off RAH uniforms and looks but with the style of S6. I think S6 would have done better, if more characters in it actually looked like their RAH counterparts. Duke, for instance, was in all blue instead of his tan/green RAH look. Didn't make any sense.
For me, the 12" scale is dead. They're way too big. S6 were a perfect scale. Not too big, but big enough to grab a hold of. I don't know how anyone can like the new 12" Joes and not like the S6 stuff. The new 12" line looks completely lame.

Yes I think that would be a great idea. In fact, the Comic Pack Destro reminds me a lot of the Sigma 6 version and a lot of the figures looked pretty decent.

I don't want the same damn names and designs in every toy line.This.
I liked the new designs. I liked the new direction. I don't see the point in constantly rehashing old designs. It's nice to go back to them once in a while like what the 25th is doing or do homages. But developing the line with new ideas like S6 was quite agreeable with me.
That said, I would be all over ANYTHING that is S6 related, let alone doing ARAH designs for them. Much of my custom S6's draws inspiration from ARAH designs.
As far as scale goes, I felt it was a perfect size to handle all the articulation, engineering, and materials used that made S6 far superior than the other lines in those areas.
My only gripe with S6 was the sheer amount of Duke/Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow incarnations in the line. I can understand doing a few repeat characters to cover costs of R&D. But we're talking like double digit figures of the same character. It's pretty much what did the line in. The combination of many repeat characters and the price point killed the line.
I mean what parent would want to buy multiple figures of the same character? What they should've done was release weapon sets for the figures at a lower price point.
But overall, I thought it was a great new idea to entice a new generation of kids to like Joes. For the collectors there's always the 25th. But Hasbro can't make enough money on collectors alone. They have to put out more mainstream stuff for the next generation of fans and S6 was a good idea. It was just atrociously executed.
For those interested, my S6 galleries are here (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13117).
