Okay, so I have taken some parts off a viper to work on a custom, and I was looking at it last night, thinking "My 4 year old could paint better than Hasbro did on these arms." I noticed that the arms are the only part of the skin on the viper that is showing. So I decided to spruce the arm up a bit. I thought that since the viper's neck was black, making it look like he's wearing some sort of body suit, that I would extend it to his arms. Then I realized that the wrist armor and gloves needed touching up, so I used the only red paint I had, and made it look more uniform. After doing it, I'm not sure about it. I have another viper that I was going to display, and I thought about doing this, but I wanted some opinion on it before I did. So, be honest, whaddya think???

man sweet idea with the black...i say keep one for display (cause its the original version)...and make an army or squad of these black body suit vipers...vipers get cold to you know...

It's hard to say...I'd like to see what he looks like with both arms black, and all geared up. You also have the option of painting his neck flesh.

Oh, yeah, I hadn't thought of that! What is considered a good flesh color? (I use the Testors acrylic.)

I don't typically use Testors, but I would think that they would have a flesh tone. Tamiya makes one that is close to the Hasbro flesh tone, I think.

Personally I use Games Workshop Elf Flesh. Pretty smooth application. and it dosn't look like they fake bake ;)

I'm really happy with the GW brand...the only problems I've had was with the burnished gold and red gore (both too watery). Snot green has done wonders to hide joints with a bit of creative camo :)
