Well here in Springfield Missouri, it depends on the store. TRU is best to hit on wednesdays. K Mart, i have no idea. Wal Mart it is best to hit them on monday and either thursday or friday. Target is so unpredictable as they get trucks in every day...

It's really a crap-shoot. The Wal-Marts by me (there are 3) all generally get new Joes in on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. Don't know if it was luck, but most of my luck with Targets have been on Mondays. Also, Targets don't always stock first thing in the morning. I was at Target last year on a Monday night with my girlfriend and checked the SW figs. I walked away and ended up returning about 10 minutes later because I had decided to buy a figure for a custom. Well, in those 10 minutes the pegs had been re-stocked completely and I got a bunch of new figures.

I concur on the Target restocking.....or at least that is what I have been told. It was reported to me that Target stocks during 10-12 range, thus avoiding pesky Hot Wheels doooods.....again, I don't know this first hand, but it makes sense.....and I would do anything to avoid those guys too. Yikes......

I find the best days to search are days when you can either go into work late or have the day off and can search when others are at work. This could be any day of the week and doesn't appear to matter if it's Walmart, TRU or Target. For some reason shopping at odd hours, like really early or mid-morning, on the days described are the best times for me.
Really, it depends on what you're searching for and how desperate you are to find it. Oddly enough, the less desperate I am the better luck I have. Maybe that's just how it works. If I have an idea of what I'm looking for but don't have that eye of the tiger hungry and desperate look in the eye, I tend to find what I'm looking for with much greater ease.

Where I am from the best days to look are at the crack of dawn or dead in the night. TOO MUCH competition in the town I am from for figures.

Is best to look for them when the stores open. If you got some stores on you way to work is probably the best way.

When new waves hit, it's usually about a week after the first West Coast sightings. But I've scored all of the waves searching during the week. Never found anything on the weekends, by then, it's too late.
Target-Monday or Tues and Thursday or Friday
TRU-Anytime between Wednesday -Friday
Wal-Mart-Thursday or Friday
K-Mart-Never really bothered as I've had success at the stores above.

I haven't really noticed a pattern in my hunting, especially at Targets. At one I seem to have the best luck later in the afternoon, around 4 or 5, but at others it may be early morning or late morning. As Stygian mentioned, Target is best for me when I'm not desperately looking.
Wal-Mart was pretty crappy for me, but then I found wave 7 and 8 cases still boxed and waiting to be put out on the pegs. For wave 7, I just got lucky. For wave 8, I noticed that all the nearby stores received cases on a particular day except one (I found remnants). I thought there was a good chance that it would get it the next night, and I was right.

I find thursday & friday mornings. As early as possible. Here the targets stock at night. As long as your in at 8 when they open, you have a shot at a fresh case.I also frequent a non-24hr wal-mart.I can be the first one in at 7 and have a good shot.
