Abundance of Wave 8

Has anyone else noticed wave 8 seems to be extremely well stocked compaired to previous waves? I have gone into my local walmart the past 4 nights in a row and seen a minimium of 5-6 boxs of wave 8 sitting in the stacks each night waiting to be stocked. Wave 7 is stocked to the point where it is about to fall off the pegs too. I mean its greeat and all, just wondering if maybe the distribution problems have finally been corrected.

i haven't notice that yet with wave 8, but i was able to get a complete set without any problem. wave 7, on the other hand, seems to be so well stocked that some of the figures (Snake Eyes and Duke, i am looking in your direction) are in danger of becoming the next Buzzer and Hooded CC.

I think it's a local thing. Some areas seem to have good quantities, most likely due to the managers of those stores ordering heavy numbers well in advance or by staying on top of restock orders. I have not seen wave 7 more than once and have yet to see wave 8 though there have been sightings in the area it seems to have sold out pretty quickly. Central Ohio has lots and lots of stores but they equal out to lots and lots of empty pegs most of the time.

I have yet to see wave 7 and I have only seen a wave 8 Baroness. I live in st.pete,Fl and there is 3 wally's, 3 targets and 1 TRU within a shrt distance of each other.

I wish I had that problem. I have checked every walmart near here on a daily basis and have yet to see any wave 8 figures. I did find a Flash and a Storm Shadow v2, so it wasn't all for loss.

I've seen wave 8 twice now and wave 4 comic packs only once. While it helps working at Walmart, NONE of the stores in my area are saturated with either. The second time I saw wave 8, they had gotten one case of them and two cases of wave 7. Sad to say, but the only figure that I REALLY wanted out of wave 8 anyway was TF Flint. I now have 4 total, so I have met my quota on that figure. Not to worry... I'm NOT scalping or hording him. I just have some customs that require the assistance of his arms. :D

There is no problem of surplus Joes in western PA. Nine and a half times out of ten there is nothing on the pegs but Hooded Cobra Commander and some comic packs. I got lucky yesterday, finding the Baroness, Roadblock, Cobra Commander and Viper from wave 8, and a Shipwreck v. Copperhead pack between Target and Walmart. Otherwise, these stores haven't had anything in about a month. They seem to now have a couple of Vipers and Snake Eyes from wave 7 hanging around, as well as waves 1-3 comic packs. Hopefully overstock becomes a problem real soon - like for wave 9 and the upcoming vehicle and dvd packs. I'd love to be able to pick up G.I. Joe on clearance.

No surplus here. I check Wal-Mart daily, and gotlucky one day and found a combined waves 7 and 8, but that's long gone now. No new comic packs either, which is really what I'm waiting on.

this surplus thing is a farse. my stores got maybe 2-3 cases of each wave in and thats it. all of which i can gaurantee you did not last more than a day. the idea that these waves are flooding the market as a whole is unfounded at this point in my opinion and nothing more than a regional supply issue. for example, same stores within a 50 mile radius have gotten significiantly more qnty than any of the same stores in my area. this may come off as meer bitter rant but it's frustrating to read that some feel product is finally reaching the qnty we as fans would like while my area seems to remain the nail bitting, dash and grab what you can while you can. to that, all i can say is some of you may be happy however there are many of us that continue to be frustrated by a trickle of product. i feel fortunate in that my stores are atleast getting something as others are reporting they still are not getting anything. if i was in one of those lucky markets, i would certainly be offering my services to help others if possible. i'm not saying this is in any way required of anyone else but if your finding surplus and want to see it sold to get restock, perhaps helping others whom are less fortunate could be the solution to both you and your fellow collectors.

One case of wave 8 is all I have found and 5 of wave 7. For a large city that is bad. To find that many wave 7 I had to search high and low.

the thing I really notice at stores - Meijer, Target, WalMart, TRU, Kroger, and anywhere really - is that when you go into the action figure aisle there are rarely any empty pegs except for Joes. Seriously, it's like a black hole in a forest of crap. Everything else either gets restocked regularly or does not sell. I realize this is just as much of a rant as Arch2b, but we in the "no-surplus-zones" need to vent now and then. Thank you for your attention. Here ends the rant. <beeeeeeeeep>

Maybe where you are but it is not Abundant here..........and no the Distribution is not solved...my Walmart got one case just like with WAVE 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7.....

Wave 7 and particularly 8 is not going to be a problem finding for me. Im not even looking at the time. I consider that a repaint wave that most of us don't even like that much.

There is plenty of w7 around here so I will begin the hunt for W8 next week. Im not that desperate for it.

Everyone calls this a repaint wave and expects it not to sell well. Look at wave 4 and how many people complained about that wave and it sold just as quickly as anything else.

Yeah, I just came across a Wal-Mart I didn't know was nearby, and it was overflowing with parts of wave 4. There was 6 or 7 Gung-Hos hanging.

Repaints as they maybe Im still getting the entire wave 8. If you notice the only fig selling well out of W4 is Stormy.

I've seen next to nothing as far as wave 7, 8, and wave 4 comic packs go. I've seen several wave 7 snake-eyes, one shipwreck/copperhead pack, and did find two cases of wave 7 upstate because no one shops for Joes at that particular location.

Well sadly there is still no Wave 7 or 8 here in MS. My spouse has Mon and Tues nights off at her Wal-Mart and if they did get them in last week the scalpers took every last one, but I'm pleased as hell cause I got 4 of the new Joker figures from the Dark Knight collection, scalpers piss me off, cause way back in the day toys were toys period! Now companies understock and make us run around like hapless chickens, I mean don't get me wrong, I'm all about collecting, and the Jokers aren't being scalped, they're for good friends that are helping me locate some things on my want lists, so in the end the universe balances out, well it will when I have Target vehicles, TRU 3 and 5 packs and waves 7 & 8.....LOL.

I was thinking the same thing I have gone into a couple Walmarts,Tru,Targets and I see an abundance of Wave 8 and Wave 7 stocked.I think once it gets closer to the movie release Hasbro might do an over kill on these figures and re -release every figure and those looking to make $$ on buying extra figures will see their stock price go down

After going to 9 different Walmarts, I have concluded that it just depends on the store manager. I also think it depends on whether the pegs are empty or still full.

Case in point, one Wally would have about 100 figures on wave 4 on the pegs while the other Wally would have 100 figures of wave 7. They seem to stock up only when the pegs are low. ANd some Wally just are not ordering as much 25th Joes as other Wally would. Like the one closest to me gets only about 1-2 cases at the most.

Sucks for me as I have to drive out a bit to other Wally!

I wish that was a problem here. In my area of Jersey I'm just starting to see wave 7 in a few places. I went to Wal-Mart in Rockaway today and saw 2 Vipers and lots of the older comic packs (Crimson Twins, Ace, & WW, Deadnoks) but haven't seen a single wave 8 figure. And BBTS is dragging their heels on this wave, too

Well aside from a few others I guess it appears as though i'm alone in finding Wave 8 in abundance. Sorry if my post was found to be annoying to those who are having a hard time finding Wave 8, it wasn't intended to be. I just had to ask, because this is the first time in the past 6-7 months of collecting these that I have found a wave in anywhere even close to these numbers. To be honest I wish it would have happened with one of the earlier Waves or Wave 9, Wave 8 is alittle disappointing in my opinion(aside from Parka Snake Eyes anway).

I don't have a ton, I only buy one M.O.C. of each figure. Money is what one would call tight with me right now, that's all I can afford to collect. I have just seen all these when I have been going in at night before I go to work to check to see if the new comic packs have arrived(which they still havent unfortunately).

Honestly though, I have pretty much completely given up on seeing figures in the stores at this point. Pre-ordering or getting figures from eBay is so much easier on the nerves and gas/time.

no surplus here. I've seen remnants of wave 7 at many stores (never a full set). My g/f got me the 1 wave 8 figure that was left at a store. I found wave 4 comic packs at only 1 store. So...stuff has been in the area, but not in large quantities.

I have not seen wave 8 in my area. But there is wave 7 for sure. And the wave 1 thru 3 Comic Packs are becoming peg warmers. Almost all of them are still available.

I did score 2 Vipers on Friday! Yay ME.

Nothing but empty pegs here. The last wave I saw was 2 (buzzer, serp.). That was a month ago. Last week I found 2 buzzers between 4 stores. A surplus of joes here in the bay area has never and will never happen. I'm just sad is all. Enjoy your surplus.

Found someones wave 8 returns today in Kansas City. The python patrol figure had a yellow sticker bit still left on it from the wal-mart return hassle.
