Renegades. Neither one is what my ideal GI Joe story would be, but Renegades was just handled a lot better then RoC.

Nooooo... I don't mean to discuss the Cartoon. Just wanted to know what story the majority likes better. Both have been panned and praised. Also... what "new" GI Joe can we talk about until Joe-con?

When I 1st joined this site.... it was mostly people wave chasing. The threads were mostly "G.I.Joe sightings in_______" And if I didn't live in that state, the info didn't interest me at all. Too bad I didn't post on each one of those threads how I wasn't interested in what they are talking about.

It would make sense to keep your lines all in one general story arc...maybe not exactly the same part of the story but at the very least not be conflicting...

It amazes me that if people wouldn't post in threads they don't want to discuss, they'd eventually fall off the front page and disappear. Apparently people want to discuss it if the thread continues.

I was totally disapointed with RoC all the way around. Not with just the casting and acting, but from the story to the designs as well. So if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick "Renegades".

I like "Renegades" a lot better than RoC for sure, but I'd actually rather have something more like "Resolute" as far as look and feel for the main G.I.Joe continuity.

Renegades, Cobra organization is much better presented than in RoC.
I dont lie whole RoC concept that CC is a evil scientist and brother of Baroness, and she loves Duke and all that soap opera things. I like better renegades story and character developing.

Hilarious. I don't understand people coming to a thread they don't like, or find repetitive making comments. It's 'mind bottling'. Anyway, I choose Renegades, not for its beautiful story telling, but for the fact that ROC was garbage on so many levels. To me they both are a weak attempt at G.I.Joe with Renegades being a lot more of a solid Joe cartoon.

so i finally sat down today and watched all 11 eps of Resolute. now, i get it! it is really awesome, there are things i don't like, chiefly the animation. but the storyline was pretty good, i liked the actual bullets and dying and stuff(but why bazooka? why not kill a joe no one really cared about. like grunt? or steeler? lmao j/k)
i still love renegades though. the movie was crap and dribble. renegades is awesome. just ready for more death and bullets.

Out of the two, Renegades without a doubt. I think if anyone, anywhere, used RoC as the basis of a creative endeavor, other than as a PSA of what not to do when making a major motion picture, it should be completely legal to pelt them with bar darts until they die.

I am trying to make a mathematical study for adults vrs. kids effected by sub-culture. Because the 6 10yOLDS and under I know like the movie way better. But I can't find too many adults the same way. I am doing a school study on the effects of nostalgia.
I am doing the same on an X-man site....
(I'd pick resolute too... even tho renegades Duke is the best of the 3) Thanks for the vote.

I don't know. I loved Joe before ARAH, and I dug ARAH. I'm totally up for something new, but RoC isn't really "new". It's just a crappy rehash of ARAH characters and their origins. I want to see something new, but something done well. RoC was just a new shotty coat of paint on a rusty old tool, and it definitely wasn't done well in almost any way shape or form. Short of some of the actors turning in respectable performances with an absolutely atrocious script and direction. I don't think nostalgia has anything to do with me not liking RoC. I think a reasonable expectation of what a movie with that kind of cast and budget should be is.

I didn't mind RoC, but I like the Renegades story better. And i know this is absolute heresy to some, but I think I like Renegades better than Resolute. Resolute was good, don't get me wrong, but I thought that some of the dialogue was just as corny and I thought some of the characters were stiff. I think character development has been better with Renegades. I like Resolute animation a little better, but I don't think that Renegades animation is bad. I love the stories in Renegades and the way they are introducing new characters. I like Cobra's angle in Renegades.

Anyway, just my opinions.

You, sir, deserve a fist bump. Or possibly a drink. Neither is a thing I can deliver through the computer with much effectiveness.

I love almost everything about Renegades. I find it extremely difficult to love anything with which Channing Tatum is affiliated, let alone Tatum and Marlon Wayans. Let alone hiring actresses based on how hot they are instead of whether or not they can act. Let alone some of the mind-boggling "plot" decisions...

Sigh.

I am just tired of Origin stories in general. I want to know what there up to now. Not then but now now.

There is allot of problems in every GI JOE story line since Marvel and Sunbow.
Its like a ugliest dog show. Who gives a shit?

Renegades is far superior to ROC in every way. I was really looking forward to a massive 5-7 year story, oh well maybe whatever they come up with next will be even better. Unless of course if that whole moving in a more super hero feel rumor is true, than I suspect to see even more hate than ROC could ever hope to achieve, and I'd probably be right there with it this time. First time I see Roadblock lift a tank over his head I'm done, packing up my shit and moving on.

Yup, that's pretty much exactly how I feel. And Cobra’s setup is probably my favorite aspect of Renegades. The general concept of Cobra being a worldwide corporation whose presence and influence is felt through every layer of society, and is perceived almost universally as a benevolent force in the world--I mean, what better setup for Cobra could there be? They could go anywhere with that. Cobra agents in Congress? Check. Cobra judges and mayors? Check. A Cobra member as President? Why not? So much potential there. I’d love to see this Cobra in the new (hopefully rebooted) movie, and in future cartoons, whether they are actual continuations of Renegades or not.

He didn't say for the movie, it sounded like the next cartoon but if Hasbro is saying they want to tie things closer together than maybe it would be brand wide, minus the comics I would assume. Then again there's been a couple people here posting that they know someone with info unfortunately the two I'm thinking of conflict. Only time will tell who of them is right, if any.

uhhh, honestly i like them both. and i dont know how this works but i thought renegades was actually more realistic than rise of cobra even though it had pod people.

Renegades (If allowed to continue) will just become a updated version of Resolute.

I think a lot of us would like to see more Resolute, but that's just not possible right now.

I think Renegades has problems but has potential. I don't want to see the potential scrapped so we can get a POC replacement cartoon. Nothing against ROC/POC, but I want more of what they've started with Renegades. That Zartan makes sense finally.

Honestly, why can't we have both? Hasbro owns a network. They could run a morning Joe story and an evening Joe story. They could re-run Sigma 6. Late night could be someone editing footage from Sunbow into new stories. They could air 10 Joe cartoons if they wanted.

So, I voted Renegades but I want both.
