But what we got just seems off without the knee pads and the color of the harness is off, or am I being to picky?

The color variation I can live with, but the kneepads missing paint does kind of irk me. I'll be painting up a couple to match...I do really dig the all silver dagger though, and the red trim is perfect.

You are not alone! :D This kind of crap pisses me off to no end. Why does Hasbro leave the snazzy paint apps off of the knee pads here but then put extra paint apps on other figures like the crappy mud wash they put on Copperhead? Or the blue, red and burgandy Viper, when it just should have been simply blue & red?

im just trying to figure out what color the green is.. the closest ive seen camo green from games workshop. i took my figure into hobby town usa and put it next to all the paints and nothing matches plus i bought 2 testors model masters acryl and they suck.. i shouldve just gone with my instinct and bought games workshop paints! im bummed!

I'm totally for not giving Hasbro a pass, but this might be a case of mixed signals from fans.

I've seen many, including myself that dislike the "neon" and the late 80s early 90s paint apps that went into the figures. The Python Patrol figures were almost a gateway into that realm. I think Hasbro attempted, this is speculation of course, to dull down that neon color scheme in the picture and go for a little something more real. I wanted the knee pads painted, that part blows, but I like the muted color scheme and smaller cobra logo rather than the larger cobra concert shirt.

Having a fixed crotch is nice too, though. Hopefully this will be applied to all the standard troopers and officers now. If they could fix the arms, make them more versatile like the Crimson Guard's arms, that would be great and i think we would be on the verge of a definitive Cobra Trooper mold.

I wish Hasbro would sell a "box o' fixed crotches" so we could repair our current blue shirt armies. Sell them all niche like on their web site. Fanboy dream there, but it would be nice.

Quick note: I will say that the arms do feel a bit more "flexible" on this mold. So I wonder if the joints range of motion has been improved too? Curious...
