View Full Version : Wave 8 Python Patrol "Officer"

Did anyone else notice that the Python Patrol Officer/ Trooper now has a fixed crotch? I bought some of these today and didn't notice the crotch until I was cutting the bubble away from the card.

I hope this means that the red sigil trooper on a single card recently "revealed" in the wal-mart computers will be fixed now.

I *Heart* fixed crotches.

Just as a side note, Hasbro sure does "fix" a lot of stuff and chalk it up to "listening to fans." Anyone get the impression that they screw stuff up only to "fix it" later and look like champs? I'm probably just being an ass, but it happens so often with such simple things you have to wonder. I know the trooper is a hold over since day one, so I get that this one needed to be fixed because they never anticipated vehicles, but still I know a new Viper will come out in six to twelve months with "fixed hands."

Anywho, as you can tell by my signature the crotch on these regular troops has been bothering me. Sadly, no news on the arms front.
I give that "fix" twenty-four months. *wink*

You're joking right? It would never make any business sense to do this. The costs involved to make the tooling in the first place are huge. To purposely make them wrong, just to make them again later would be flat out idiotic. The fact that they are willing to address problems like this, with the trouble and expense it incurs, seems to be unique among toy companies. I say good job Hasbro.

It was half sarcastic. That's why I used the operative phrase "I'm probably being an ass," because I was. Try not to take it so personally. I love these things as much as the next guy. I was mainly excited about fixed crotches. See that part with me *hearting* them.

Everything will be alright, just breathe... but...

To spur further argument out of the dedicated Hasbro masses... the profits to resell you 25 new "fixed" figures, when you already bought 25 of the old figures are even greater. Plus to retool just hands or something like a crotch isn't as expensive as doing an entire mold, plus they can reuse the mold on like 496 other "fixed" figures.

and further on that subject...

Remember that these are just plastic figures, nothing to get religiously fired up about. But I will say that the more we scrutinize their processes, the more we can curtail "fixes" in the future. Never give any company that you give money to a "pass", no matter how hard they work. Always bust there balls, it keeps them on their toes, especially as artists, all the time and makes them want to produce better results. If we all said, Duke arms are ok, at least we have new figures, nothing would ever change.

No one has to be angry, but keep the discussion and debate "active", and get those comments back to Hasbro.

to continue...

I mean really, come on, was the viper hand not caught at the prototype or engineering phase? When the QA guy put the gun in his hands didn't he say "Wait, this may not work?" Or was the hand made at the behest of bean counters who decided it could be reused on the tele-viper pilot? Besides, they could always spend a bit extra next year, when the budget allowed for a correction, to re-tool the viper hands and re-release it in an exclusive TRU multi-pack next year.

Ok, I'm really just being an ass at this point.

i like the fixed crotch and 'release' of the new red logo trooper.

however i dont like the big ass cobra logo makes it look
like he is wearing a t-shirt.

its "to cartoony"

I am glad I purchased a bunch of the '25th 5-pack version'

but to those who don't have them

this is a good way to build your ranks and make it more "anime" official"

Something was just posted on the front page about new wal-mart listings. i know the trooper is the red sigil trooper, but i wonder if it will be the big cartoon cobra logo shirt, or the proper, original version. Hmmmm... their bastards if they made it the big concert shirt version...

Lets trash the place!

yeah, he's talking about the theoretical wave 12/13 version. we don't know for sure that's what it is, but that's the logical guess at this point.

Alright guys let's keep this thread PG for our younger viewers...

???

I'm not going to make a big deal about this, so i'm just going to make this one post....but what is not PG about this? No one is getting descriptive here. I bet if a younger person who was 5 or 6 was reading this, they wouldn't know what we were talking about anyways.

Back on topic: Yes, I want this figure. I have not found Wave 8 around here. That makes Snow Job sad. :(

The big deal is that i am trying to stop this thread from becoming something, me as a parent wouldn't want my 5 or 6 year old reading. I just left a simple warning to keep it clean and not let this turn into that and so forth...

Dude paulpratt, the sad thing is you are probably soooooo right. It would be easy for Hasbro to come up with that idea just based on how everyone roams the earth just to buy anything and all 25th. Anniversary. It would be easy to rape us with different (fixed) versions of the same molds, and then come off as if they are just helping and listening to their consumers.

I have a 6 year old, so i understand completely. I, on the other hand, want to destroy my son completely early so he realizes life is just downhill from here. That way he is never disappointed.

Kidding. I just like saying crotches. Not trying to offend.

PP and CROTCHES!

And he is a Python Patrol Officer dammit!

I'll never accept that! ARRGH!

Pirate voice doesn't make me right, so don't get scared. I'm going to use him as a troop to keep my army consistent. If/ When the "trooper" comes out he'll be my officer like the others.

What the hell was that all about? That rant was aimed at me? All I said is that Hasbro does not intentionaly make things wrong just to fix them later. It's not a big conspricy, they jusy make stupid decisions sometimes.

Ok, I'm really just being an ass at this point.

Agreed.

*Hiss Hiss* Someone is being catty...

And no, that rant wasn't aimed specifically at you. Put your jump to conclusions mat away, and re-read the first paragraph of my rant not directed specifically at you.

It's just general speculation (Speculation is based on conjecture, not facts). Try not to be offended.

You can come over and we can spoon if you want? My wife might get upset and I cannot promise my Pug, Mr. Buns, won't lick your bathing suit areas, but you are welcome to spoon with me.
