Okay...so I'm excited about getting my first SS 12" figure (Firefly). I've got several on Pre-order or waitlist (including Hawk who went up today). Below is a list of the Joes and Cobras they have done ready:
Joes (6 total):
-Snake-Eyes
-Duke
-Flint
-Beachhead
-Dusty
-Stalker
-Hawk
Cobras (10):
-Cobra Commander (blue & red SDCC version)
-Cobra Trooper
-Cobra Officer
-Cobra Sniper
-Storm Shadow
-Firefly
-Desert Cobra Sniper
-Cobra Viper
-Zartan
I think they need a few more Joes to even up the distribution. Here are my suggestions:
-Gung Ho (classic fatigues with dress blues exclusive)
-Spirit (possibly with Freedom as exclusive)
-Rock 'n Roll (with a massive .50 cal)
-Roadblock (with a chef's hat exclusive...LOL!)
-Airborne (massively loaded out with gear)
-Torpedo (wetsuit with alternate Navy SEAL fatigues)
-Wild Bill (with Air Cav cowboy hat and chopper pilot helmet)
As for the Cobras:
-Major Bludd (robotic arm, Joe dogtags necklace)
-Crimson Guard (switch out portrait with Fred head)
-Scrap Iron (with his missle system)
Who do you think should be given the Sideshow treatment next?

Oops...forget the Red Ninja. That brings the Cobras up to 11. Would love to see Tunnel Rat as well for the Joes.

Here are my suggestions:
-Gung Ho (classic fatigues with dress blues exclusive)
This would be neat, but having two separate uniform sets would make for a costlier figure. Not to say they wouldn't do it, just that we haven't seen it yet.
-Spirit (possibly with Freedom as exclusive)
I believe Mr. Seams pointed out some time ago the issues with Spirit's original outfit, that is it being highly anachronistic. While I'd be fine with them releasing the figure this way, Sideshow's penchant for trying to mix more realism into these figures to target a wider audience may prevent them from going this route.
-Rock 'n Roll (with a massive .50 cal)
I'd like to see them do version 2 of Rock n' Roll. All of the original '82 figures look so much alike uniform-wise that they couldn't get away with doing all of those @ $100+ each.
-Roadblock (with a chef's hat exclusive...LOL!)
Roadblock will be done I'm fairly certain. I suspect he will look a little different that the 1984 version.
-Airborne (massively loaded out with gear)
-Torpedo (wetsuit with alternate Navy SEAL fatigues)
Both excellent suggestions which I think will be done. Not sure if Airborne's colors will be consistent with his 3 3/4" counterpart though.
-Wild Bill (with Air Cav cowboy hat and chopper pilot helmet)
Will never happen. Wild Bill is also a bit anachronistic. Too many other figures that need to be done first.
-Crimson Guard (switch out portrait with Fred head)
Absolutely, and likely to be done exactly as you suggest.
-Major Bludd (robotic arm, Joe dogtags necklace)
Would love to see it, I hope they step outside of their comfort zone a little bit and actually do it.
Zartan will be a good test for them as for how wonkier characters sell.
The question to ask here is, what percentage of their customer base are buying the more military-realistic figures and who won't buy one like this? The answer will determine how many of these type of characters get made.
-Scrap Iron (with his missle system)
That would be bad-ass for sure. Like Major Bludd, it's another one that can work I think.
Who do you think should be given the Sideshow treatment next?
Scarlett, Lady Jaye, and Baroness are all must-haves.
Gung-Ho is a must. I'd also like to see Doc and Snow Job.
We need pretty much all from 1984 although Spirit is unlikely.
From 1985, Alpine would be cool. Snow Serpent and Eels are must. Shipwreck is iconic but rather plain, how would they handle him? Seems unlikely. The rest of the bad guys seem like iffy candidates although I would get a kick out of the Dreadnoks and Tomax/Xamot.
Beyond this, there are plenty that would make great figures but I think they should focus on the likely pre-1986 candidates first as those are most iconic.
