How many joe figures from 10 yrs ago are worth alot now? I don't think very many. I will agree though, that there is a better chance for 25th anniversary to increase in value, but I don't believe that they're going to ever reach the value that the original figures from the 80's are at now.
The reason is because ALOT of collectors are keeping everything carded, thus making carded figures easy to come by now or ten years from now. They're not going to be rare and in the case of the original Joe's from the 80's those figures that are carded and are in good condition are hard to find.
Think of it like this: diamonds are valuable because they aren't as abundant as other jewels. There's alot that goes into cutting and so forth, but diamonds in the rough are hard to find. As a matter of fact only about 57,000 lbs of diamonds are mined annually around the world. If someone were to find a massive amount of undiscovered diamonds (let's say around 500,000 lbs.) then the price of diamonds would drop because they wouldn't be as rare anymore.
I'm not saying that people shouldn't collect MOC. If they enjoy their collection more carded, then that's cool. It's just that keeping them carded as a business investment probably won't pay the return that they're expecting.
