I'm of the "wait and see" opinion. All the pieces are there to make something that may not be better but may be just as good. It'll be different, but will it be worse or better? Only time will tell. Won't know until see how it develops.
The first year of ARAH, '82, was pretty bland with the look of the figures. For the most part they all look the same and there wasn't that much "pop" to 'em. It really wasn't until the 2nd year that ARAH started to develop more unique looking characters (Duke, Gung-Ho, Snow Job, Airborne, Doc, etc..).
Even the construction got better. How many of us would have continued to buy Joes if they had remained straight armed and didn't get the swivel grip?
Like I said, all the pieces are there (bland, generic and underdeveloped is a matter of opinion; I've seen successful franchises that are built on less of a foundation then Roc, hell most comic books start off with less), it's just a matter of how they develop and grow it.
