Check out the cool commercial for this issue:
In a couple of months we get another awesome commercial, this time for issue #35:
Well it's a pretty clever way to save on animation, I guess.
But that's not all! If you look at issue 32, it has a Dreadnok cover that has nothing to do with the actual issue, and an extended flashback of the same stuff we see on the commercial. That means Hama had to write not just two, but three issues for the same f'n commercial!
Even as a kid I wondered what kind of perversion they had for Dreadnoks and airports, and Buzzer blowing jets up. Now I know.
What I think happened was that they had done the commercial and ordered the issue, but the Dreadnok toys were delayed (they're 84 designs but not officially out until 85, I think), so they ordered another issue for the commercial, but botched it again. Geez, imagine having to write comics in such a situation!
The funny thing is this isn't even the last time they make the same mistake. Anyone noticed?
Nero..thanks for sharing the commercials and the take on why. I enjoy when stuff like this comes up and we are forced to speculate on why. Do tell, when does this commercial reuse tactic come again? Or save it for Issue. Your call. Thanks
