Finally NEW STUFF!!!!!! I am intending to have a little more regular output the next few months. Hopefully a few are still interested.
05/20/2034 - Istanbul - PART 1
Levent Business District - 0313h 05/20/2034
Schoolgirl stretched her back and cranked her head to either side to relieve the built-up tension. She’d been laying prone on the concrete rooftop for the last two hours, her eyes glued to a night-vision scope trained across the street and her breasts scrunched against the concrete ledge. It was her fourteenth mission, and so far the one with the most inconvenient location. Idly she wondered if the Joes provided massage coverage with their health plan.
She’d always wanted to go to Istanbul since she was a kid. Her imagination had been filled with thoughts of the beach, sailing the Dardanelles, and touring the old city, preferably with a cute Turkish boy...or two. Laying on the roof a half-built warehouse, watching the back door of a dilapidated skyscraper scheduled for demolition, with a dozen fellow soldiers probably staring at her ass was not how she’d envisioned her romantic trip.
Well, she’d gotten the trip, all expenses paid in fact. Now she just needed the someone special. One day, she told herself, and sighed.
“Anything?” Mayday asked, interpreting her sigh as a sign of something.
“Nothing.”Schoolgirl rolled over and arched her back, no longer caring if the rest of the team was looking, “Are we sure this is the right address?”
A grunt came from the other direction, “ve’re sure.” This from Taurus.
Schoolgirl glanced in his direction, and observed him slowly fingering the edge of his sword with his thumb, sharpening stone clutched between his other fingers. He spent more time polishing that sword than most people did sleeping. It fell strongly on the “creepy” side of things.
She sighed, turning back to her scope. She sensed more than heard someone kneel down beside her. The slight scent of tooled leather filled her nostrils, doubtless Spirit’s boots, she reminded herself to ask him where he bought them after the mission was over.
“No one around?” he asked quietly.
“Just the same dude sitting in his same car in the same spot across the way. Same as the last three hours.”
“What’s he doing?”
“Um… drumming his fingers to whatever he’s listening to. Why?”
“May I?” Spirit asked.
She passed the monocle to him. Silence followed for a few seconds and he started tapping his fingers.
“That’s not a beat. That’s morse code.”
Schoolgirl rolled on her side, but didn’t have time to curse herself for missing it before he dropped the next bombshell.
“We’re blown! Incoming!”
Schoolgirl was only half way to her feet when the door to the stairs was blown from its hinges with a shaped charge.

12 hours earlier…
Istanbul Ataturk Airport - 1530h 05/19/2034
The Cessna Citation X rolled to a stop beside the private hangar, a slight breeze off the Mediterranean ruffling the flags on their polls. Schoolgirl turned her seat to get a better look, still luxuriating that the plush leather seat moved. And vibrated, one could not forget the massage function.
“Turkey,” she spoke out loud, mild excitement in her voice “we’re in Turkey?”
In the seat across from her, Hardhead raised a bushy blonde eyebrow, “haven’t you been deployed before?” he teased her.
“Of course I have!” she shot back, trying to sound as mature as an enlisted man twice her age. She didn’t elaborate that all her deployments had been in Great Britain for anti-terrorism units before she’d joined the Joe team, and in the few months since she’d only been across the pond. Or Stateside as the Americans called it.
“We’ll all have time to look around,” Ice Cream Soldier cut in from the front of the plane, speaking for the first time since the mission briefing. “Remember your assignments. Giorgios, you and Jillian,” he nodded at Hardhead and Schoogirl, “are getting off here. You’re posing as a rich businessman and his...erm...mistress here for travel.”
Schoolgirl had to admit that the way he blushed every time he used that word was kind of adorkable. Too bad he never really let loose with the others.
“Allen and Julia,” Ice nodded to Takedown and Firing Pin, “you will follow shortly posing as Gio’s personal assistants. Take our tech with you.”
Schoolgirl had managed to get Julia talking on the flight. Everyone had heard of Poveglia, but it had been her first chance to get to know anything first hand. Firing Pin had been as open as security would allow, but she’d gotten a good idea of why Takedown had his scars. She’d hoped to talk to him, but every time she tried she got the distinct impression that Firing Pin would murder her if she got too close, and she’d backed off.
“Reymond,” he addressed the last member of the group, the big guy with the dark look in his eyes, “you’re with me. We’ll be bring our gear and weapons out as part of the maintenance crew once we’re in the hanger.”
The big man nodded, not looking up from whatever he was holding.
Ice rapped his knuckles twice on the door to the cockpit and a second later received two taps in reply. The pilot was a civilian, the plane’s regular pilot, on loan with the jet from Extensive Enterprises by way of a convoluted set of favours Schoolgirl didn’t know enough about. They hadn’t seen him and he wouldn’t see them, preserving operational security.
“Questions?” Ice asked, and when no one spoke continued, “Code Names from here on out. We check in at the hotel in three hours, rooms are registered under your cover identities.”
Hardhead stood and gestured for Schoolgirl to go ahead. She smiled, picking up her purse from the floor and heading to the front of the plane where Ice was lowering the stairs. As she passed, she glanced up, catching his eyes on her, but as she smiled back to wish him luck, he quickly glanced away and stepped back to let her out.
She shrugged to herself, putting on her best ‘ditsy’ look, and loosening her hips as she took each step off the plane.
“Isn’t the air here wonderful daddy?” she asked in an artificially high voice as Hardhead followed her down the stairs, noticing the waiting porter roll his eyes.
He would have been cute, she observed to herself, if not for that wedding band on his left hand.

Taya Hatun Mah - 1630h 05/19/2034
Takedown stepped off the airport transfer shuttle, his right hand testing the strap on the canvas bag over his shoulder to make sure it was securely in place and couldn’t be ripped off by a passing stranger or enemy agent.
Casting his eyes around, he noticed nothing particularly out of the ordinary as Firing Pin followed him down the stairs. Still, he disliked being this close to the Grand Bazaar. Too many hiding places for dangers.
“The Antik is apparently two stops away if we take transit, or a twenty minute walk,” Firing Pin said in a business-like tone as she stood beside him. “Walk or ride?”
“Lets walk,” Takedown muttered, casting his eyes in all directions, “buses are a little to easy to seal up.”
Firing pin smiled a little sadly, then nodded, “good plan, gives us a chance to look at some of the architecture. Come on, there’s a cart selling some very nice shawls. Lets try and fit in with the other tourists.
Takedown pursed his lips, but followed reluctantly, not wanting to be in the open any more than they had to.
