So a co-worker got me a scanned version of the comic. I plan on buying a copy, but it was nice to get the reading out of the way without worry about my fingerprints all over it or it winding up in the bathroom as reading fodder.
Anybody else read it? It felt the same as a 15 second trailer for a movie that's still 2 years away.
First story was meh. Felt a little closer to Image's version (but way better artwork). Maybe I missed it somewhere, but it might have been better if it was clearer that they were starting from the beginning. I had forgotten that I read this fact in these forums by the time I started reading.
I really liked the pace of the Duke story in the second part. Are you in or are you out? Hopefully they kinda keep that level of not ever truly knowing what's going on (or what might have happened). I always enjoyed stories that got you caught up or explained a little deeper why things are the way they are. I still remember the long trek from school to pick up that comic w/ Zartan holding the bow on the cover. I also like the fact you never see what's in the Pulp Fiction briefcase, if ya know what I mean.
The third story wasn't a good tease. It was like finding the first couple of pages from a torn comic you never read before. Not enough to excite me for the rest, but I'm sure it gets a lot better when some "meat" gets thrown in.
I also really liked the artist interpretation of the characters. Good read if you want to know why Duke's sleeves are rolled up and Hawk's aren't!
