So LRPs and modern Rangers are not one and the same, although modern Rangers do have soldiers that perform the duties of long-range recon and surveillance. So the average LRRP/Ranger was much different during the Vietnam War era than what we call today's Ranger, which is a highly-ready, highly mobile, light infantry unit. Clear as mud?

The Vietnam Experience LRRP 1966-1972
Thanks guys, had some experiences with Rangers lately and saw some LRRP connections. I didn't know they operated with 9 man squads.
On the ages, I just kinda forget about it, I like the Vietnam connections, and I'm still living in the 80's so it's ok!
Speaking of which, saw Captain EO at Epcot recently and that was a blast, I had seen it when I was a kid on vacation with my sister, so it really brought back the memories.
