Look, when you're ready to go back and pay attention to the whole of my post,
then
you can start suggesting I've ignored anything.

Hasbro hasn't said anything like that, nor do you have any sound reason to believe that's happening. Also, I don't care what someone who feels
threatened
by changes to a fictional story based on line of action figures thinks is
sad
.
Quite the 360 from the reaction to having your rush to judgment criticized.

Patriotism, honor and loyalty are a little more important to myself than the letter of the law and box office totals.
First of all, you have completely missed the point of what I said. I wasn't saying, "Hasbro has the right to make G.I. Joe an extension of the U.N. if they want, and there's nothing you can do about it." I was saying that Paramount will not be able to run with those kinds of ideas on their own, because Hasbro has veto power. They also have a brand, an image, and loyal customers to consider, and no matter what you heard on the radio, they're going to keep that in mind.
More importantly, though, Hasbro is a corporation. They have a responsibility to their
shareholders
, and to no one else. Do you own Hasbro stock? If not, then why should what's
important
to you mean anything? Its very purpose is to generate return on investment for them, not to appease your slighted sense of nationalism. If you valued "loyalty" half as much as you claim, you'd respect that.

You
don't know
that anyone
is
"doing this", but even if it happened, it would be Paramount, and
money
would be the reason, not politics.

there will be an American flag in just about every other scene. whether on a uniform patch, or the star-spangled banner itself.
I disapprove already. Once again, I want a fun, exciting, and entertaining genre film based on the stories I read growing up in the '80s, not a propaganda film.
