There are PMC-run desert survival courses that the Army can conceivably send its soldiers to (there's one in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon's interior, called High Desert or something or other). But the primary reason you don't see anything like an Army "Desert Warfare Training Center" is because "desert warfare training" is an implicit part of any active-duty infantry regiment and/or battalion's unit-level training. Infantry battalions and regiments routinely undergo rotational training (which includes going up against the OPFOR) at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, which is located in the heart of the Mojave desert. Beyond that, I suppose the summer version of the Military Mountaineer Course and the summer version of the Assault Climber Course sort of qualify as advanced Army desert warfare courses to some extent.
Outside of the Army, the Navy runs the DEST (Desert Environmental Survival Training) program for SEALs and certain USMC units.
