Here's a question for the FC experts:
I've been thinking about the Joe mountaineers like Alpine and Hit N Run and debating what sort of teams they would work best with. Alpine, I'd assume, would have arctic warfare experience due to the nature of his work. He's not just a rock climber but an high-altitude mountaineer, perhaps a pure alpinist, who would need to know how to survive and fight in harsh polar conditions. Hit N Run doesn't quite strike me as an arctic warfare fighter but his secondary specialty is mountaineering so you'd think the two go together. But I still prefer to keep him with an air assault unit--he just seems better equiped for rappeling or fastropping out of helicopters. He might also make a great PJ. Just wondering where you guys place him in your Joeverse. Same goes for Alpine. Are they soloists or small-team operators or do you merge them with your arctic specialists?
Also, do you consider the arctic warfare specialists like Iceberg and Frostbite and Blizzard to have mountaineering training since it would prove quite useful in an arctic environment. The two types of training just seem to complement each other. Does anyone know if the 10th Mountain Division requires their units to undergo both moutain and arctic warfare training?
