It doesn't "make" anyone do anything. Casual collectors can always be patient or not buy it.

Aside from the cost of binoculars, bird watching is a totally free hobby.

The market dictates prices, and it's "good" because people who want the figure, but couldn't otherwise obtain one, now have options available. If someone owns a neighborhood store or restaurant, they're making money off their community (and their
actual
community, at that), but I don't see anyone referring to
that
as "very bad".

And when you ask them for one they say visit me on E-bay...
No one is
obligated
to sell items to strangers at cost, and no one is
entitled
to collectible toys at retail prices. Why should someone with a tighter budget get priority over a collector with more money to spend?
It keeps being repeated on this site, but this is a wonderful example of capitalism at work.

Not everyone feels like anything is wrong with things how they are, though. I'm not going to collect any differently so that you, or anyone else, can afford more toys. If I can't find something I want at retail, I'm going to buy it from a "scalper" on eBay. If you don't want to go that route, that's just less competition in the bidding.
