If we take the stance that Cobra is a legally recognized corporate organization, I just can't see the US government allowing them to use DoD-exclusive technology (such as the A-10). And even then, a single A-10 would be horribly expensive (around $12 million), even for a large-ish corporation. A whole squadron (never mind a wing) of the aircraft would probably bankrupt a company unless they were being paid as part of the standing air force of a nation.
The OV-10 Bronco seems more like it would fit Cobra's needs: a relatively affordable (~$400000 per unit), small, low-maintenance, and agile ground attack/reconnaissance STOL with a proven track record in "small wars" in the deserts and jungles of the developing world. For the cost of one A-10, a mercenary group could get two squadrons of OV-10s (about 30 aircraft!).
that thing is wicked cool. i could definitely see this being a cobra aircraft. now if only they would make this and the previously discussed helicopter from the comics
