I can understand the frustration, but enough with the "what about the kids". This isn't UNICEF. IF you cared about the kids, you'd be donating your money to charity rather than exchanging it for non-essential items such as toys.
I'm not talking about starving children in Africa.

We should not have to get up at the crack of dawn to buy these things because some unemployed jack-ass camps out there every day, but that's what it's come to, and yes it IS BS.But, insulting the collectors because of the actions of a scalpers is not right. They are entirely different things.
I am not insulting anyone, again, I'm just sharing my thoughts for the purpose of conversation. And yes I understand the difference between scalpers and collectors and I understand most people here don't camp out at Target, which I'm sorry, is really weak.

I get one to keep carded.
I get one to open.
I army build 5 open and 5 MOC.
I get multiples of dukes, stalkers, and others for customs. I have purchased alot just for customs.
I purchase some for nephews and my future son.
I see them on the pegs for a while at a time. Kids have the chance to get them. I have never seen any kids grab them off the shelf.
And when I do find wave 7 I want about 20 figures so.. am I a scalper or a bad person because I want to buy something from the store.
I never said anyone was a bad person. I promise you that when your son is old enough, you will enjoy your collection even more since you will see the excitement it causes him.

I didn't ask you to leave a set. I am merely suggesting that people buy what they want, and not buy them just because they are there and they are hard to find.

it is indeed frustrating to find only Buzzers and Serpentors, and Hooded CCs on the shelves, but there isn't anything that can - or should, IMO - be done about it... other than Hasbro increasing production. and this "collector policy" that some stores seem to have (although i have never personally experienced it) is ridiculous. it boggles my mind that any store would stop someone from buying something they sell. it's not like we're talking about an essential item, like rationing bread or something. they're action figures, they should be first come, first serve.
No one said the kids should have first dibs, I'm just saying that if the kids only end up with buzzer, they will not fall in love with G.I. Joe.
The collector policy is not ridiculous. When I got my XBox 360, there was a limit of one per customer for obvious reasons. Stores like Target want their customers to be happy. Target makes a lot more money from families who buy a wide range of their products, and probably a lot less from single men in their mom's basement, so it would make business sense to keep the customers with families happy by making sure their kid's favorite toy is stocked.

I'm not really complaining, and of course I am not suggesting that it is illegal. But you are right, the hunt is part of the fun, which is why I would rather go to Target with my son, and see the excitement in his face when he sees a new guy, then to mindlessly order something on the internet. Kids usually don't know if they like something unless they see it anyways, so I'd rather find them in the store.

No spelling is not genetic. If your unsure about a word you should google it first.
